SPY REPORT
Greetings, Warriors of TOBIR. Allow this humble servant Novgorodny Vir to give
you a respite from the fights in the form of this Spyreport. BARIUM ENEMY
successfully staved off a grab for the roses by FEATHERS of THE DOGHOUSE. Does TOBIR
have no one talented enough to dethrone it? So who's the team that's been walking
into taverns last week and ordering milk? Sounds like a PR stunt to me.
A Zenmaster once told me, 'Does not the spinning wheel turn? And do not the
little birds cry out?' Any ideas? Perhaps the warriors of THE DOGHOUSE should take
up some hobbies, as they are the most avoided team... As a woman of good breeding
scorns the "warriors" of UNLIKELY HEROES, so did that sorry team shy from THE
DOGHOUSE If challenges were horses, OLD HOWEL could open up a fast food joint! My
love of complete Spyreports dictates that I note the mismatched fight, GHOSTFACE and
FLOPPSIE. Are THE DEATH SQUAD unwilling to engage in a fair fight? I thought
GHOSTFACE showed great skill and promise when he lost to FLOPPSIE. All right, so I
slept through it! Big deal!
Is there life after death? Pragmatics (and warriors) know there is death after
life! Perhaps WRATHMEN!'s manager was intending to send SAVINA to the Dark Arena in
the first place, seeing as how bloodfeud has nearly expired. Ask not a spymaster for
counsel, for he will pontificate long after you have fallen into an unconscious
stupor.
All good things must come to an end. As the seasons change, and the creatures
of the wild change also, so do I feel a yearning to leave this place. TOBIR, I leave
you now. The Duelmaster has agreed to foot my bill at The Victory Tavern. 'Til next
time-- Novgorodny Vir

Lizard Lady -- Watch that tongue, lady! -- Greymar
It's A Quinoa! -- Yeah, Yeah, so I heard already. -- Darmon
Feathers -- It was worth a shot. Expected better learning... -- Granmeyer
ODB -- You're not much of a teacher either! -- Remus
One-four again, but THIS time, *I* got the win. It still isn't GOOD, but it's
better. Not that I bear ill will against the Wrathmen, although they should WATCH
OUT or their moods might FREEZE that way. That would be sad. Unhealthy, too. We're
put here in life to enjoy it, after all. -- Feathers, a Golden Retriever whatever the
Commission says
P.S. Maybe we could get our races changed to the proper Dog during the name-change
deal? After all, being a Dog is nothing to be embarrassed about. Being a Dog is
good.
Granmeyer -- I know I'm not supposed to chase cats, but surely in the arena it's
different? -- Feathers
Asphyxiate -- Suddenly I just couldn't BREATHE. -- Floppsie, panting in remembered
alarm
Ghostface -- You Cats are very strange. Kinda scary, too. All those claws. -- Big
Red
Mansion -- I was doing okay, I really was, but then, I don't know, it felt like a
house fell on me. -- Spike the Squashed
Fonzanoon -- What? If I were really the Cat the Commission claims, I would arch my
back and spit, then run away. As it is... um, I'll just run away. Golems, bleh. --

NAME CHANGE-O-RAMA
There was a line outside the Gladiatorial Commission's registry office. There
often was, but surely not now? Alarond the Scribe, who had drawn office duty today,
frowned at them.
A stocky, fit, moderately handsome gladiator stepped up to the counter. "I want a
name-change," he said. "How can I do my best known as," he shuddered, "'Dangling
Eyeball'? My name is Joe, and I want to use it."
A small and very shapely woman stepped up beside him. "And I am really tired of
being known as 'DA Bait'." She smiled, causing Alarond to sway where he stood. "I'd
like to be known as... Aphrodite, I think."
The others crowded forward, each advancing a claim, the babble of voice rising to
a roar, the crowd beginning to look like a mob--and every member of it armed and
dangerous.
Alarond raised his hands to quiet them, without much success. He raised his
voice, too. "We'll do it! A Name-Change-O-Rama, as soon as we can get the paperwork
lined up! Two or three months, maybe--"
The gladiators howled in protest at the delay.
"No, listen! The files here are HUGE, it will take time to get everything
straight. You've got to be patient. It WILL happen!"
