                                      SPY REPORT

Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly MALCORN games. CAT IN THE HAT caught the eye of many
in the gladiatorial commission as it skillfully bested DEANO and was awarded 23
points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, CAT IN THE HAT put
down DEANO, causing him to lose 20 points of recognition in the process. Not for
nothing has AZAZEL in the past laid claim to the Duelmaster's throne, and this week
he's proven his combat skill yet again. Would you believe that over half of the old
women in MALCORN seem to feel that they could fight better than you gladiators?
Many and various are the arts of battle. In MALCORN "art" is a word that has
long since passed from the language! I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when
this week's challenge seeking began. DARK CREATION is feared. This much I can say.
If you didn't look down dark alleys you'd have been hard pressed to find any of
PLANTS last week. Busy avoiding DARK CREATION? Loose talk at the arena has reached
my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many fighters are after REDBIRD.
Watch your back!
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers the
miserable with fortune but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember this!
A thought before I go. Each warrior practices one style, but must not the wise
manager learn the secrets of them all? Ahh, but I can hear the spires of a far off
city calling to me. I must away! Till we meet again, remember: a turtle walks
slow, hides head in a shell, and harms no one; a lion runs to slay its prey.--
Zontani Sharp Eyes

Wind Rider -- Wench is a strong word my nasty little fellow, I happen to be nicely
shaped and firm, a brilliant red and ready to make you eat that word, unfortunately
Barnabas says I'll have to wait till after the fall mailer, so I'll see you then! --
Toe Mae Toe

Stump -- Damnit, I can't even beat you on my challenge, that's pathetic! -- Safflower
(for now)

Wendigo -- Man, did you catch me off guard, I better start paying more attention. --
Sugar Beet

Safflower -- Tcha, see one yellow composite, you've seen them all! Not that you
aren't an oily character, and jaundiced in your complexion as well. Better keep your
distance, wench, in case it's catching! -- Stump
P.S. Okay, not as friendly as last time, but it's been a heat wave with humidity
here, and I'm not feeling as friendly to anyone. Chicory, now, a cool blue flower,
that would be...ah, very chicky?

Rapanuiidol -- Don't you LISTEN? Well, nothing for it, if you insist on coming back,
rotten banans are in your future, and maybe a red drum on your head as well, though I
draw the line at tying your ears behind your head. Hmm, even though we don't have a
lagoon, maybe if I dropped you in the river, the mussels could take over? Worth a
try, especially after using the red drums to keep you under. Yeah, have to look into
this. -- Rock Maple

Somnambulant -- So I was late to bed last night, sue me! But don't wake me up.... --
Redbird, not an early one

A Captured Orc? Who needs one? They aren't good for anything. I heard of one team
that put a Captured Orc to work cleaning their stable, and he ended up eating all
their horses. Took 'em aback more than a little. -- Mossrock

This whole business with the Convicted Thief is silly. I looked into the case, and
he was convicted in and deported from Zuwayza, where he stole something from some
stuck-up snob. Why should we punish him for his good works? -- Wind Rider
P.S. Do NOT talk to me about "international amity," because if there's any of that
between Malcorn and the Karnhorns, it sure doesn't show.

Toe -- Not if I see you first! -- Wind Rider

H.P.L. West -- I don't care for fuzzy stones myself. -- Mossrock
P.S. A mossy rock is not a fuzzy stone, you understand, it's an ecological
development team producing soil from stone.

H.P.L. West -- No, Somnambulant and Azazel had neither one defeated the Duelmaster.
And they were tied for recognition points; the golems at the Commission throw out all
tied warriors. (At least they don't put them, tied as they are, into a sack with
some bricks and drop 'em in the river!) I suppose they find it easier than delving
into secondary criteria such as wins, total fights, kills, or whatever. -- Jorja

Sugar Beet -- I guess we caught you on a bad day this time. -- Dark Creation

Bet Twice and Triple Crown -- As a manager who has never run a successfull parry-
riposte I felt a small amount of congratulations were in order. I don't think I'll
be pitting the Lutherax against you again. -- H.P.L. West

Rock Maple -- Don't give it a second thought, if Rapanuiidol doesn't win this weeks
contest, I'll sink his big-eared head to the bottom of the ocean myself. -- H.Phillip
Lovecraft W.

Red Bird -- Urrgghh...zzznn...mmrrnn...grrzzz...nnuunn...zzzrr... -- Somnambulant

To fall from the heavens, only to land in the Duelmaster's Throne. Aahh, the
rapture. -- Azazel
