                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

It's getting a little quiet here in Malcorn. We need to recruit some new blood
here, or bring back some old, before we all fight each other match after match. And
with our numbers so low we're showing up on both the most popular and least popular
lists. Our fans can't like this.
Farewell Stonebow, I'm disappointed I never got the chance to cross blades with
you, but my manager wouldn't let me make the challenge. He's weak that way.
Pot of Gold, maybe I'll actually beat you one of these days instead of you
throwing in the towel early.

-- Varick

                                      SPY REPORT

Greetings, Warriors of MALCORN. Allow this humble servant Novgorodny Vir to
give you a respite from the fights in the form of this Spyreport. Practice pays for
BOBCAT, who pummelled SKITTLES, to pocket 19 points. Win some, lose some. Speaking
of which, BOBCAT was winsome, after beating SKITTLES and seeing her lose 8 points.
Well, Duelmaster VARICK challenged RAINBOW CONNECTION's POT OF GOLD. Is a 17-3-1
good enough? VARICK successfully staved off a grab for the roses by POT OF GOLD of
RAINBOW CONNECTION. Does MALCORN have no one talented enough to dethrone him? Word
has it one team in MALCORN is taking speech lessons to try to bore their opponent to
death. I'll bet it works.
A Zenmaster once told me, 'Does not the spinning wheel turn? And do not the
little birds cry out?' Any ideas? Perhaps the warriors of DARK CREATION should take
up some hobbies, as they are the most avoided team... Like a pup with its tail
between its legs, TERMINUS scurried away from DARK CREATION. Oh, the shame!
Everyone is famous for fifteen minutes, and POT OF GOLD is it right now. Most
challenged warrior. Isn't RAINBOW CONNECTION proud! Take heed MALCORN, of the
unprincipled action of QUASIL. By challenging SOURWOOD, 20 points below him, QUASIL
besmirches the noble art of dueling. QUASIL overcame SOURWOOD with a point
difference of 20. So this is what MALCORN calls a duel. This will make an
interesting tale.
The moving sword slashes, and having slashed, moves on... Questions are being
raised about the disposing of severed body parts in the arena. A certain tavern in
MALCORN would I avoid!
All good things must come to an end. As if buffeted by forces of nature beyond
my control, I must take my leave of this place. Do not despair! I shall return!--

Sourwood -- No problems about the vomit on my boots. Usually there is blood all over
my armor anyway, and it's almost always my own. I tell you, being a Total Parry may
net a lot of wins, but it sure can be a painful way to do it. -- Quasil
P.S. More Cardio...

Stonebow -- So on your final battle you beat me into the sands, making it Stonebow 2,
Morgue 1. Thanks. I may not miss you, but the crowds will, it seemed you were the
popularity leader for ages. -- Morgue

Persistent Beggar -- I see you didn't take my advice on lessons. Persistent
Beggar... more like persistent loser! -- Havoc

Embezzling Scribe -- Was the crime worth it? -- Taedium

Oh, yeah. You can't imagine how much some of these illiterate "nobles"
squirrels away, and how careless they are with it. -- Corran Skael, Public
     Scribe

All -- I am getting together as many Duelmaster players as possible to play in a game
of Hyborian War as a change of pace. We already have 17 players that are interested
and we are trying to get as many as possible involved before I submit the list to
RSI. I am collecting the names and top 3 kingdoms that the players are interested in
and submitting it myself so we can all play in the same game. If you are interested
PM me in the DuelII Forums at Tripwire or email me at azaer123@comcast.net. --

This heavier paper is unexpected in my hands. I keep thinking there should be more
than the usual stuff in the turn. Too bad I don't have a fireplace, this heavy stuff
might burn well, and with a blizzard going on--I kid you not, the weather bureau says
it's a blizard--a fire would be a pleasing thing. Oh, well. -- Jorja

Quasil -- Can I blame my loss on the unexpected weight of the paper? No? Somehow I
didn't think so... gotta just come right out and blame it on incompetence or
something. -- Sourwood

Morgue -- I figure the four skills in exchange for the win, this is a good deal for
both of us, right? -- Stonebow

In the Dark -- Think of it as a snow day. -- Honeysuckle, waiting for spring

Steve -- That is a good question, about who told you that you could fight. Or told
your manager. -- Silver Ghost
P.S. But no one ever answers it. Bummer, I'd really like to know who's going around
telling every Tom, Dick, and Hairy that he should be a gladiator. It's insane.

Skittles -- What IS skittles? Do I have to get a dictionary? -- Bobcat

Avery -- We'll miss you. -- the Greenwardens

Varick -- Why not? -- Sourwood

We salute both Malcorn's tourney participants. -- Jorja and the Greenwardens
