It is definitely much easier to drive fast in a parking lot when there is no
rain. Makes stealing spots that much easier. Thanks, weather gods, for bringing me
No Rain!
I now need a little bit of almost everything to graduate. 1 win, 1 additional
fight, and 1 political point. Perhaps Wren will be accommodating and let me get two
of the three this turn. Or maybe I won't be able to find my back into his tree again
and he'll be the one getting wins and political points this turn. Parking on a tree
branch is quite the trick. I'm glad it's a skill I was able to learn.
And, Wren, getting down a tree is much easier than getting up it. Gravity makes
that one easy. Luckily your branch isn't that high or landing might be more
troublesome.

SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of MALCORN! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp
Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. TONES OF HOME caught the eye of many
in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested TAEDIUM and was awarded 17
points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, TONES OF HOME put
down TAEDIUM, causing him to lose 8 points of recognition in the process. Most
watched of the fights this week, the spotlight was on WREN as she bore arms against
the challenge of reigning Duelmaster STOLEYOURSPOT. Not for nothing has
STOLEYOURSPOT in the past laid claim to the Duelmaster's throne, and this week he's
proven his combat skill yet again. Informants "close" to the city champion have told
me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city MALCORN. I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when this week's
challenge seeking began. TERMINUS is feared. This much I can say. Apparently the
stalwarts of THE GRAIL KNIGHTS are catching the bulk of jests down at the challenging
board for their large share of the avoids. Mighty fighters cannot but expect
competition from those below. NO RAIN take warning! You have more than a few
enemies in MALCORN. A match that raised a few eyebrows at the games this week, it
seems that RAITH posted a challenge against the more highly recognized NO RAIN. The
results, you ask? Well, the firebrand RAITH was defeated by NO RAIN. Remember
warriors, this is the discipline of steel.
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Walk proud, warriors of TERMINUS! By
striking down GROOVY SIR GRIMM you have avenged the honor of your dead. Your virtue
is known to all in MALCORN. Dark alleys may hide both secrets and assassins. In the
arena there is only the brightness of steel. Keep vigil always!
If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times
already in MALCORN. Nice atmosphere you have here! Sadly warriors, now longer can I
keep thy company nor savor the ale of thy fine city. Depart I must and soon! Till

There was a line outside the Gladiatorial Commission's registry office. There
often was, but surely not now? Alarond the Scribe, who had drawn office duty today,
frowned at them.
A stocky, fit, moderately handsome gladiator stepped up to the counter. "I want a
name-change," he said. "How can I do my best known as," he shuddered, "'Dangling
Eyeball'? My name is Joe, and I want to use it."
A small and very shapely woman stepped up beside him. "And I am really tired of
being known as 'DA Bait'." She smiled, causing Alarond to sway where he stood. "I'd
like to be known as... Aphrodite, I think."
The others crowded forward, each advancing a claim, the babble of voice rising to
a roar, the crowd beginning to look like a mob--and every member of it armed and
dangerous.
Alarond raised his hands to quiet them, without much success. He raised his
voice, too. "We'll do it! A Name-Change-O-Rama, as soon as we can get the paperwork
lined up! Two or three months, maybe--"
The gladiators howled in protest at the delay.
"No, listen! The files here are HUGE, it will take time to get everything
straight. You've got to be patient. It WILL happen!"
