Notes from the arena champ.
Wow! I saw a note last round that really made me feel bad. Apparently, members
of the arena feel bad vibes about us Golden Gladiators. Some feel we are arrogant,
and some used words like dominating. Gee. The part about "gold diggers" made some
sense to me, especially for some of us like Pot Of Gold. I mean, after all, we do
lust for gold and that does include digging, if necessary.
I hope we can change that perception. After all we really aren't that much -
just a bunch of optimal strategizing by the master, Midas. Look at our base stats:

any donations. (especially gold or thrown fights) I need all this more than most, as
I am over-my-head in this Duelmaster position. Be gentle.

deeds. And let's see, O PUNCHA fought GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY and gained 21 points and
contributed to PUNNY AMINALS' 2-2-0. GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY has lost to O PUNCHA,
falling 10 points, while helping make GOLDEN GLADIATORS a 0-5-0 turn. Well done,
WILLAF, the Duelmaster was this turn's most challenged warrior. Perhaps GOLD FILLING

Inscrutable, but true. ARENA FELINES has cause to stand tall, as they were WILLAF's
most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team to beat. And avoiding ARENA
FELINES more than any other team we find GOLDEN GLADIATORS. WILLAF, are we going to
accept, or respect this sort of thing? In a brave attempt, KITTEN KABOODLE from
ARENA FELINES challenged up 24 points to fight PUNH JENTLY from the PUNNY AMINALS
stable. KITTEN KABOODLE perhaps got his just desserts, seeing as he was defeated by
PUNH JENTLY and ended up with 37 recognition points.

be true. We'd like to remind certain teams not to rob the graves of their enemies.

HAMMER ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT
Be it known from the highest mountains to the darkest alleys of Alastari that
the veteran manager known far and wide as Hammer has now officially retired from
sponsoring contests as of September 15, 2005.
What a long time ago was a fun motivated activity to help promote our common
DM/D2 gaming interest in an effort to promote the growth and competitiveness of
selected arenas has become a far from fun experience.
In other words Hammer has had it!
The combination of real life situations interfering with the time needed to
effectively sponsor a contest, plus the attitudes expressed during such sponsorship
interference has led to Hammer closing his personal coin coffers and retiring from
his planned sponsorship of any future contests.
There are others in our close knit gaming community who are well able to step up
to the plate and continue sponsoring contests that make the basic game a fun
experience for all those who choose to compete and interact in such future endeavors.
Hammer thanks all managers both active and inactive who helped to make the
Hammer sponsored contests a historical and entertaining experience well worth the
time, effort and money spent over the past several years.
May the Cheers and the Jeers of future contests build upon the legacies of those
who have paved the way in years gone by to help make this game what it is today.
Hammer has no regrets for the part he has played in that history.
