                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

I guess I am here by default. That's okay--I'll take it. I am Judge's first
piker Duelmaster in Aljafir as a result of Nimitz's untimely death. That Khalhums
Dwarf tried his best to kill me last cycle. Sorry Mr. Dwarf, you will have to do
better than your last effort.
Hopefully I will be here next cycle. No challenges or avoids, so let's see who
wants some.

                                             Your Daddy,
                                                  Napoleon

                                      SPY REPORT

Well, what are you looking at, ALJAFIR? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. SPIRAL SUICIDE turned their 2-3-0 turn
into a 5th place rank in the listings this turn. Any better than this, and you get
put on hit lists. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see SCREAMING MIST win
a fight and gain 20 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, DARON EL beat ACHILLES and ACHILLES
lost 4 points. You're breakin' my heart. And if variety is the spice of life,
ALJAFIR may be getting bland, as NAPOLEON stays top dog in the city. I'm not in a
very good mood today, but why am I telling you this? You want to know what's new,
don't you, ALJAFIR?
My mother always told me, 'If you don't have anything nice to say, start
talking.' I loved that woman. LET'S DUEL!, I suppose you'll be glad to know you were
this turn's most avoided team. Care to know who is the most afraid of you? And it
looks like HEROESANDFOUNDONES avoided them the most this turn. What a pack of would
be losers, if you ask me. Hmph. Ooh, I'm frightfully impressed, VURZHAL UR was this
turn's most challenged warrior. Watch that ego swell, sports fans. I guess I can
give a little credit to PIP THE TROLL of HEROESANDFOUNDONES for challenging up by 21
to TABETA UNIS. PIP THE TROLL won to get 52 points of recognition.
Some people like volunteer work in the hospitals. I volunteer for ALJAFIR's
morgue. More variety. We're all going to die in the end, so why worry if the fate
catches up with you sooner that later?
There's got to be a better place in ALJAFIR to get a drink than The Vile Vizier!
Any suggestions? Well, I've had enough of this drivel, and I'm sure you have too.
Off like a dirty shirt of padded leather. Glad to see the back of this place-- Snide
Clemens

Purple Heart -- I really think YOU are the one who should go to the Infirmary. Your
color isn't at all good, you know. -- Daron El, with your best interest at heart (but
not a purple one, more of a red)

McArthur -- I knew a McArthur once, but he was a bridge. You are definitely not him.
-- Tabeta Unis
P.S. I thought Dwarves were hot on digging things UP, not burying them in the sand.

D.M.O.C. -- You Rirorni have very strange names. -- Vurzhal Ur
P.S. Let's NOT duel. Let's go out and get drunk, instead.
P.P.S. Okay, it could be a drinking duel.

M. Chardinee? I GRADUATE, a splendid Mouse such as myself GRADUATES from this
pesthole, and all you can dig up for my last fight is M. CHARDINEE? The insult! No
revenge is too terrible! -- Lord Protector Mouse Noyle

Screaming Mist -- Ah, you Shews! So emotional, so easily terrified! -- Marin Neh

Iron Eyeball -- A peculiar and unnerving concept. I am glad, very glad indeed, that
I was allowed to destroy you. That kind of thing may lead into all sorts of
unpleasant places if not checked. -- Tirninthienesseneterielle, High Elf of Aljafir

Ye gods! Do you have to check your tongue for sprains every time you introduce
yourself? That must be an interesting sight. -- Ed.

I feel insulted that I had to actually meet a MOUSE on the sands as though the vermin
was an equal. What is the arena coming to? -- M. Konvalh Chardinee

Napoleon -- Your viciousness was not called for, since you were without serious
competition for the Title. It isn't like anyone would let ME take the Title, even if
I'd won, after all. -- Dugald Hammerhand, Dwarf (but not actually from Khalhums,
although my mother was)

Achilles -- Damn, how did you find out that it was me struck Patroclus? I thought
that closed helm would be a complete disguise. -- Lej Korranjal, Ambitious Guard

Oppression and Ardent Fury -- I consider it grossly unfair that I had to fight twice.
Nobody ELSE had to fight twice. They think that just because I've got holes in my
socks, I'll do anything for a few coppers. Damned bloated plutocrats! -- Kellechi,
member in good standing of the Beggars' Guild

Lej Korranjal (Ambitious Guard) -- That's two for me and zero for you. Want to try
best three out of five? -- Achilles

Terregolis (Dangerous Criminal) -- I do not find you to be particularly dangerous. --
Purple Heart

22 October 2004
                         Youngblood's Three and Out Contest

I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what
I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before,
here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a
chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see
fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules
(like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later).

 1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only.
 2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.)
 3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts.
 4. All warriors will run until they lose three times, after three losses they are
     eliminated.
 5. If a warrior sits out a turn, they are accounted with a loss in the contest.
This is to keep warriors with winning records from sitting out until the end of
     the contest.
 6. If a warrior is killed during the contest, the replacement cannot enter the
     contest.
 7. If a warrior is killed, bloodfeuding is allowed, but only by a warrior that is
     active in the contest.
 8. If a warrior is run after being eliminated, the manager is disqualified from the
     contest, no questions asked.
 9. Challenges are legal, up or down.
10. Contest will keep going until 1 warrior is left without three losses, and that
warrior, of course, is accounted the winner.
11. All managers participating will be asked to purchase a rollup certificate, to be
awarded to the winners of the contest.

                                    <<<PRIZES>>>

As I have already said, and according to participation, rollups will be awarded
to the first and second place managers. So the majority and minority of the rollups
will be determined when all are accumulated.
Contest Champion--2 Faves prizes, and majority of rollup certificates
Contest Runner-up--1 Faves prize, and minority of rollup certificates
So once again I invite all managers old and new to participate in what should be
a fierce and challenging contest. <<<REMEMBER, FIRST OFFICIAL TURN OF THE CONTEST IS
DECEMBER THE FIRST, AND AS I SAID BEFORE, THE TURN BEFORE (NOVEMBER 17TH) YOU MAY
DARK ARENA CHALLENGE ONLY!!! ANY WARRIOR WITH ANY FE (FIGHT EXPERIENCE) WHEN THE
CONTEST STARTS WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE CONTEST.
