Notes from the arena champ.
Survival should grant me immortality, so here are my vital statistics, according to
Assur:

Assur is pretty proud of me doing so well with zero tournament experience. I was
just never timed well enough to participate. I'm sure I will see an ADM career, but
not necessarily under Assur's leadership. Assuming I survive, my final fight will be
in the Dark Arena.
My challenges go out to P'Tain and Blown Away. Both these managers have shown that
they aren't killers, so even if I lose, I should have a decent change to survive. My
avoids go to Jolly and Tripwire. (Jolly because of his nasty Piker, who I mistakenly
reported with 2 extra PP's. He should get his invite this turn as well. Tripwire
because he's just a nasty killing manager with a couple of warriors that I don't
necessarily match up well with).

SPY REPORT
It's me, The Unknown Spymaster, back to give you this week's Spy Report. Sit
back in your seats and we'll have more fun than a barrel of Zontanis. For every
winner there is a loser. Speaking of losers, lets take a look at OF WOLF AND MAN,
who went down to 11th from 16th. Life is tough. Coming up with a solid 2-0-0
outing, HELLBOURNE has advanced 6 places in the rankings. BURN N' PILLAGE is no joke
as it posted a 4-1-1 week advancing from 3rd place to 2nd place. Hey everybody,
watch out for KREIA, who flew up 27 points in the rankings after mashing HI I'M NEON,
I'M... like a melon. Keep your eye on this gal. And falling like a basher in the
top ten was ADAMANT, who dropped 13 points after a disappointing (to say the least)
bout with VISTA BLOWS. Well, everybody's pal JOSH moved his record to 18-3-0 by
defeating ROCK CROAKER in the Duelmaster's Title Bout and gaining 9 recognition
points. Advice to bashers--never force anything, just get a bigger halberd!
But enough of that bunch, let's get on to the wimps who like to avoid battle!
And hey, kiddies, those of you who didn't avoid OF WOLF AND MAN II, please raise you
hand. Wow. Does TALCAMA really have that many liars? Okay, so I may not be funny,
but catch CENTER FOR OLDS' act in the arena. Those acrobats seem to be fairly deft
at running from OF WOLF AND MAN II. Well dang howdy, but if challenges were votes,
HOFFA would be president. Although it may be a contest he doesn't want to win. Can
any one out there say 'weasel'? Oh well, just saying WHET WILLIAM will do. He
challenged 19 points down to trash GOLD BRICK. Definition of petty: WHET WILLIAM
defeated GOLD BRICK, a mismatch of 19 points. VARIABLE of BURN N' PILLAGE had better
have a good reason for challenging down 10 points in a challenge which it won. I
thought VARIABLE showed great skill and promise when it bested DOC STEELE. All
right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). Carrion Bird Cinematic Humor: ASHER II:
THE REMATCH. We might as well mark the passing of HI I'M NEON, I'M..., who was
relatively new to the arena at 4-2-2. Probably killed before its first shave. Well,
the arena is no place for slow learners (and hopefully T.P.s) and STEELE BRAIN PAN
demonstrated that very violently on GLITTER's body. Carrion Bird Frustration: HI
I'M NEON, I'M... in platemail. Congrats to CHUNKY SUPERDUDE for revenging the death
of his teammate (but more importantly, feeding GO-TO a bit of dirt). Ask not the
elves for counsel, for they will say both yes and no. Silly buggers, eh?
Well, that wasn't too bad; Alarond told me that the people in TALCAMA have no
sense of humor. Or maybe that they were senseless. C'mon, Leadfoot, let's make some

To those involved, no, I have not abandoned your stories. But I've been letting them
drift, and that has to stop, so I am taking the time to make sure that I know where
they are going, more than just "what happens next" dreamed up on the fly, before
resuming work on them. No new stories will be started until at least one of the old
ones has concluded, for the same reason: quantity can't substitute for quality.
