My deepest apologies for not getting Shadrach's DM Column in last turn. Looks like
I'm gonna be singing the rollup blues in Talcama for a bit. Assuming Shadrach & The
S-Man pick up a couple PP's this turn, I've got 5 open slots on my two teams here.
I'm not expecting either of new recruits the commission sent me to make my cut, but
I've been surprised before, so I'm giving them at least one turn on the sands to
prove themselves.

Assuming my warriors graduate, I'm just two styles away from my second round robin of
styles graduated from Shepherds. Yes, I know Suave is closing in on his third round
robin of graduates and I don't have my records in front of me, but it is very
possible one or more of the IT alliance members have also finished their second round
robin as well. Meanwhile, I think Doc Steele is working towards his third ten-pack
of Lungers. <grin>
I'm still having fun here, and still have goals to reach. And Shepherds is my fun
team, where I can do whatever I want and run anything that meets my fancy. I'll see
you all in the Dark Arena (at least for the near term).

success. Nothing firmed up yet, though, but it is going to happen.

Hail TALCAMA! Warriors of the arena, prepare to be praised and blamed for your
deeds. It seems the training can make the difference, as BIG MEAN FISH is pushed out
of top team by BURN N' PILLAGE, who came from 3rd with a 3-2-0 this turn. HELP
WANTED stable has parlayed this turn's 3-2-0 into a 9 space move up the rankings.
This brings them up to 10th place. Good work, guys! The CENTER FOR OLDS guild has
had a 3-1-1 turn and deserves to be watched in the future. You never know where this
kind of thing can lead. And let's see, WHET WILLIAM fought GHOST GOBY and gained 47
points and contributed to CENTER FOR OLDS' 3-1-1. SALLY FOURTH has lost to MANAGER,
falling 10 points, while helping make FUNKY FOLK a 1-2-0 turn. This week's
Duelmaster bout was between CHUNKY SUPERDUDE and our Duelmaster SHADRACH, making a
challenge. And not without some honor, CHUNKY SUPERDUDE now claims the title and
throne of Duelmaster of TALCAMA. Can someone confirm a rumor for me? I hear the top
team makes their losing fighters do dishes at The Original Arthur's Last Stand until
they win. Maybe?
The crowd's roar, the smell of iron and leather, mixed with sweat, what more
could a warrior ask of life? Well, besides that. WASTELAND has cause to stand tall,
as they were TALCAMA's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team to
beat. And guess who avoided WASTELAND stable the most? Believe it or not, it was
CENTER FOR OLDS. Anyone surprised? Well, sports fans, take notice that HOFFA from
ARROGANCE was TALCAMA's most challenged warrior this turn. Tsk, tsk, tsk. COUNT IN
THE CELLAR, does your manager know you're challenging down 19 points to fight KA'ZEEN
from HELLBOURNE? It pains me to see warriors take advantage of the system like this.
COUNT IN THE CELLAR bested KA'ZEEN, as if it surprises anyone. In a brave attempt,
MERCURY from HEAVYMETAL KIDS challenged up 20 points to fight PANTHER GROUPER from
the BIG MEAN FISH stable. MERCURY perhaps got hers just desserts, seeing as she was
subdued by PANTHER GROUPER and ended up with 6 recognition points. BUBOLA of CENTER
FOR OLDS had better have a good reason for challenging down 15 points in a challenge
which she lost. I thought BUBOLA showed great skill and promise when she was bested
by LOWELL HALE. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
We only live a short time in this world, so why not take a sharp blade, and
shave it close? GHOST GOBY has departed TALCAMA, leaving BIG MEAN FISH without their
18-16-0 warrior. Question, just what was its team doing at the taverns last night?
The bigger they are, as they say. And what I say is that WHET WILLIAM had better
watch out for BIG MEAN FISH, seeing as GHOST GOBY felled he this turn. A brave
warrior does not carry a red shield, he has nothing to cover or hide when the fight
is over. Consider well.
Thought for the day, a new sword shines bright, but the notched sword sings the

Civil War/The Crusades
The next edition of the Civil War series is to be held in Tobir, arena 14, beginning
November 25th with a round where all participating managers must DA all 5 of their
warriors; in addition all warriors must be prefixed with an A an F or a D in the
following manner: A-Broke Stroker or (A) Broke Stroker. Names simply beginning with
the letter of your federation will NOT count as properly prefixed! Existing teams
are welcome but no warrior who survives the DA who had prior Fight Experience (arena
or tourney) will be allowed to score or challenge into the contest teams. There will
be an equal number of teams set up for each of the three factions (Andorian, Free
Blades, and Delarquan) to create sides as equal as possible. This along with the DA
round should set up pretty equal footing for all managers. After the DA there will
be another round where you can either DA again or fight your new, or surviving,
warriors so they will be set up to challenge an opponent beginning on round 1. So as
a recap DA round, turn 0, then turn 1 it begins with the following rules:
The Civil War to be held in arena 14.
- The contest runs for 10-28 turns (barring ties).
- No tourney participation allowed. Teams with warriors participating in any
tournament are disqualified.
- An even number of teams per faction worked out by the Faction Leaders. No later
substitutions are allowed.
- If a manager brings in a second team and challenges into the contest he is DQ'd and
his side will fight one team short!
- Three factions will be participating: Andorian, Delarquan, Free Blades
- Everyone prefixes their warrior with A-, F-, or D- (No prefix = disqualification of
the warrior)
- Turn DA: (The DA Round) November 25, 2006. Every warrior must DA. (Warriors not
DA'd on Turn 0 are disqualified)
- Turn 0: December 9th, 2006. There will be no scoring this turn it is meant to
allow for challenges on turn 1.
- Turn 1+: Scoring as detailed below
- Each team gets 1 point for defeating a warrior from an opposing team.
- Fights against warriors on your team do not generate points in any situation.
- The team with the most points each turn gets a Battle Point (if there is a tie for
the most points then no Battle Points are accrued)
- The first team to 10 Battle Points wins the war
- Managers of teams on the winning side each receive a +1 bonus potion to be used on
a warrior on their contest team. This must be applied within a month of the
conclusion of the contest and the team must have been active on the last turn of
the contest.
Anyone wishing to participate, and feels they can probably stick around for the
duration (don't want to handicap a side, of course unforeseeable events cannot be
planned for), should either diplo me at THE DEATH SQUAD(63) in Tobir (arena 14) or
place a personal ad in the arena. You may also contact me via the Duel2.com boards!
Let me know which faction you would like to fight for! This contest is intended to
be open to ALL managers wishing to pit themselves against each other to try and

I am back in the arena and thinking back to those days in 1984 where I was a
novice and clueless manager.
Now, 22 years later it looks like I am an ancient and once again clueless
manager.
I am looking to recover some old warriors. Since none of them are Aimed Blows,
they are no threat to win anything. I just want to see how they turned out.
