Den sat at the famed Allied Axis Decision Table, where he would be found every
Wednesday awaiting the other members. Tradition would draw each of them to the table
on Wednesday mornings to continue their plan to spread pain, misery, and sorrow
amongst the populace. Deep in thought he took another bite from a block of cheese.
He had once heard that some would snack on pudding, but Den found this inclination to
be found in only those with questionable sexual preferences. Surely nobody that
would manage a team would snack upon pudding, least of all tapioca, the vilest of all
puddings. His concentration was broken when a messenger hurried into the antechamber
with an eager look upon his face.
"What is it my good man?" asked Den.
"Den, I bring odd news, it would appear that a manager called Suave is making a
weak attempt to darken the Allied Axis' grand name in Talcama."
"Yes, I can certainly imagine it was weak, and monosyllabic I would assume. The
man lacks any semblance of imagination, but what can be expected from that puke hole
of a city, nobody with any skill would reside there long." Den explained to the
messenger.
"But, he says there is naught left to be done that he has not already done.
Basically, without him, the arena would fold, is this true?" asked the messenger.
"Of course, Suave is as unique as the rest of us. Manage teams long enough and
you can accomplish just about anything. I hear even Apex has been able to succeed at
certain times. It is indeed sad that Suave must continue to hide behind his
longevity. The old saying is 'what have you done for me lately?' and he would not be
able to answer that question. Certainly, if I kept the team active long enough in
that sinkhole I would probably beat him to 1000 wins, the competition is nonexistent.
Perhaps he has indeed matched accomplishment for accomplishment, but we were there
first in every instance I would wager. You see, the Allied Axis is an alliance of
firsts, everyone remembers the first and all other feats are compared against it.
Suave has little achievements of his own, therefore he must cradle what small
victories he has, which are indeed few." Den answered.
"What about respect Den, he made claims regarding respect?" the messenger begged
to be enlightened.
"Suave is once again confused; respect is something that is earned, not given
freely. He expects all to respect him simply because his zip code has not changed in
some time. This is ignorance in work as never seen. I fight for a very simple goal,
to kill every warrior that steps onto the sand. What does respect have to do with
this? Nothing, that is what. At the end of the day I want to know that I won
victory and for that day I was the best, this is what I fight for. Respect can kiss
my butt cheeks, it does nothing for me. The talented will look upon our alliance and
respect from afar, for they understand what must be done to achieve the amount of
victories that we consistently achieve using varied fighting styles. Many managers
know nothing other than Aimed Blows, Lungers, and Strikers, yet we commonly hold many
Stylemaster positions in areas long forgotten. This is not by accident nor luck, we
simply expect more and achieve it. Would respect change that? Certainly not. I'll
take five kills over earning the respect of a single manager any day of the week.
Suave is a simple man, the greater concepts of the world escape him easily." Den once
again visited his intelligence upon the messenger.
"Shall you answer him?" asked the messenger.
"Against my better judgment I will make a small journey in hopes to enlighten
our faltering friend." Den stood and searched out his travel cloak.
Suave sat in his chair busily slurping away his tapioca pudding, his fingers and
tongue working feverishly at ferreting out each hidden speck. The pudding had
collected in his moustache which he found joy in attempting to lick it with his
tongue, pausing frequently to laugh to himself at the frustration. He really loved
pudding. Just then his door burst open and a very charismatic gentlemen strode into
his humble abode.
"You must be Suave." Den said as he looked upon what could only be Suave. The
man was laying in a chair, his enormous gut sticking out of his shirt and over his
waistband. He appeared to be wearing some type of ballet outfit, only the ballet was
not in town.
"Suave I am, and I am Suave. Everyone knows me, and everyone loves me, without
me the world would crumble and cease to exist. Also, I invented all things great,
which is why people love me. Stupid things I did not invent, but I bet you did,
because you like stupid stuff. Are you Den? If you are, I just want you to know
that I don't respect you, so there."
Den looked the disgust that had risen from the chair, almost in pity. "Suave,
are you OK? You actually seem more dense than usual."
"YES, I AM FINE; YOU ARE NOT NICE TO PEOPLE!" Suave yelled, flecks of pudding
spraying in all directions, some from his mouth and others from his gutter soaked
moustache.
"Indeed Suave, my goal is to kill your warriors, would you have me be nice to
them prior to killing them?"
"CAN'T WE ALL BE FRIENDS? HOW ABOUT IF WE FIGHT WITH TEDDY-BEARS? I LIKE
TEDDY-BEARS, THEY ARE SOFT AND CUDDLY, THIS WAY NOBODY WOULD BE HURT."
"Sorry Suave, that would not work. Warriors fight for victory, and holding
teddy-bears would not bring that victory any closer.'
"NOBODY WILL TALK TO YOU ANYMORE."
"Don't care Suave, I am here to fight, not make some drinking buddies. I
already have enough drinking buddies; I don't need any from this sinkhole."
"I THINK YOU ACT LIKE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE COME BEFORE. YOU JUST TRY TO BE
MEAN LIKE THEM OTHER PEOPLE. THAT DOES NOT WORK HERE, WE ARE NICE AND HAVE CANDY
SOMETIMES."
"Yes indeed Suave, you are deluded. Perhaps I should be just like you, but
wait, wouldn't that be a tired old act too? Be like you, or someone else, not much
difference. How about if the Allied Axis continues our quest as we have for two
decades, would that be all right? Maybe, that is who we are, and we find that much
better than being a perverted freak like you."
"YOU ACT LIKE YOU ARE BETTER THAN EVERYONE. NOBODY BETTER, WE ARE ALL THE
SAME."
"Sorry again Suave, we are not equal. We brag only because we can and will let
our accomplishments speak for themselves. What are you wearing anyway? The ballet
is not in town. You do realize those are not tights, those are nylons you are
wearing?"
"1000 WINS, I WILL HAVE 1000 WINS! I HAVE WARRIORS IN ADVANCED! I WIN SOME
FIGHTS! MY WARRIORS GET SKILLS! I BREAK WEAPONS! I USE SHIELDS! I SANDBAG
WARRIORS SO THEY DO BETTER! I AM NICE TO EVERYONE SO THEY DON'T SAY MEAN STUFF TO
ME! MEAN STUFF HURTS MY FEELINGS!"
Den calmly turned and walked from the room. There was obviously no common
ground between them, this was a waste of a trip and time. Suave is from a time long
gone and just does not realize it yet. If you fail to change, you fail. What a way
to spend a Wednesday.
DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Thanks to Assur's fight throw and a couple cheap bloodfeuds, I've amassed enough
political points for graduation. Looking over the list of CCs, I can't see a single
matchup I like so I think I'm going to take my chances plummeting back to the
challenger adepts. Volitan, can you make it look convincing without the finishing
blow this time? I don't yet have immortality, y'know. Plus, you have more (and
better) ratings than I do by now. I'll teach you five more skills if you get me out
of this chair. Fair? (If you don't learn all five; don't blame me.)
Congrats to the recent tourney champs. May your challenges go through everything up
to and not including my avoids.

Oh, hi. Its just little 'ol Debby Tonte. Thought I'd check out TALCAMA to see
what's new. Uncool, FUNKY FOLK. I mean 1-4-0 is bad. Will they will be allowed to
fight? I say use 'em for training practice! The guys at STAR WARS: KOTOR like
really pulled together to get a 2-1-0 this turn, moving up by 3. What was the name
of that team who got 4-1-0 this turn for a total 714-726-36 you ask? (Sure) BIG
MEAN FISH's their name, and fighting's their game! MVP award for ENTEK? BURN N'
PILLAGE's proud of him after beating VISTA BLOWS and getting 21 points. Talk about
yer big time losers! VISTA BLOWS got smashed by ENTEK, and lost 30 points! Like BIG
MEAN FISH's VOLITAN LIONFISH is sweating since he got Bloodfeuded by Duelmaster
UNGOOD! And I was just getting used to the ex-Duelmaster's habit of...(!) Oh well,
welcome VOLITAN LIONFISH. Aren't BIG MEAN FISH proud. (Oh, my.) Who was the wiseguy
that said TALCAMA's Duelmaster was paying for drinks at The Original Arthur's Last
Stand? Don't look at me!
So just why would someone becomes a warrior anyway? It can't be for these
really neat Spyreports can it? The warriors of IMPURE THOUGHTS must be getting
lonely. They were the most avoided team. Do you guys know something that I don't?
Is there some deep dark secret why CENTER FOR OLDS' been avoiding IMPURE THOUGHTS so
much? Or is it just that they're too scared? Can ARROGANCE's HOFFA be more popular
than me? He was challenged the most, but is that really the same? People were
asking me did THE PHILANDERER REALLY challenge SMELL CAREFULLY? (all right, maybe
they didn't, but it sounded good!) It wasn't a spectacular fight, or anything, but
SMELL CAREFULLY wants me to write about it since it subdued THE PHILANDERER.
Satisfied?
What does a fighter fight for? I mean, the crowds don't give a hoot if someone
gets killed. Not after four more fights. Like, who is this guy??? THE PEDOPHILE
gets sent to the Dark Arena, battles HIGH ELF, and returns to tell of it!!! I bet
IMPURE THOUGHTS manager is surprised! Hey! Quit laughing! Just because DREW PEA
had 12-12-3 was no reason for FUNKY FOLK to send him to the Dark Arena! Stop it!
Pinch me, I must be dreaming!!! SYPHON returns from the Dark Arena, maybe a "little
upset" at his THUNDR + LITENING teammates... Fight, fight, fight. Is that all you
guys can do?
I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be
a famous Spyreporter? I'm getting tired of writing this stuff, so I'm calling it

The Council of Lords would like to propose a rule change in ADM and Primus. We
propose that Lord Protectors ranked "Grand Champions" and below (ADM) and "The Tower
Guard" and below (Primus) be allowed to fight in the Dark Arena. This would not
impact the top rankings or title match. Any managers who never got his fill or shot
at fighting Gateway monsters would have it as an option. We believe it might spark
some interest in the ADM/Primus realm for some managers. If interested, speak up in
the newsletters or on forums under the "rules changes" thread and let RSI know. This
could even be something to try for 12 months and then be re-evaluated. What say you,
managers of Ghea? -- The Icelord sends....

HDFA Mission Statement
"Show me the money!"
This is the battle cry of a newly formed collection of like-minded individuals:
The High Dolla' Free Agent$. We are not a tough guy alliance: No...we offer no
battle without reward. We search for victory and the prizes and accolades that
follow. We are motivated by winning and will freely use whatever means necessary to
obtain our currency. No stuffy rules, no mandates, no constitutions, no leaders,
only a few objectives:
1) Win as often as possible
2) Celebrate freely and revel in your victories; the more meaningless the
victory the more we celebrate. Highsiding and chest thumping are encouraged.
