Notes from the arena champ.
It's nice to be part of history, sitting on the same throne previously occupied
by Sly, Legacy, Captain Flapjack, Lungfish, Beasthunter, T'Sain, The Golden Goose,
Kickinthepants, Micky the D, Al Einstein, and so many others. (Several of the above
Names provided with a faint hope of reviving Death & Taxes from his slumber.) I'm a
lame excuse for a warrior, and at least 21 of you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Just goes to show that ruthless downchallenges and strategy tweaks can lead a pre-
retiree like me to a near .500 record. Here's hoping I can graduate before reaching
50 fights.
Remember: It's not self-deprecating if you're worse than you claim. Some might
say I was praising my abilities. Suave would. Then again, he's an idiot.

SPY REPORT
Well, what are you looking at, TALCAMA? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. DEVIL'S DEN turned their 3-2-0 turn into
a 3rd place rank in the listings this turn. Any better than this, and you get put on
hit lists. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see DEAD URN win a fight and
gain 25 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, DEAD URN beat DELION and DELION lost 17 points.
You're breakin' my heart. And if variety is the spice of life, TALCAMA may be
getting bland, as THE CODDLER stays top dog in the city. The Original Arthur's Last
Stand, humph! I've tasted better ale at mortuaries. Where do they get this stuff?
From TALCAMA's trash dumps?
My mother always told me, 'If you don't have anything nice to say, start
talking.' I loved that woman. TALCAMA, I am losing what little hope I had in you.
RYAN'S HENCHMEN the most avoided team? What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And
who led the way in this mass act of cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It
was CENTER FOR OLDS. Ha ha ha ha! LOCAR was challenged more times this turn than
the Duelmaster. Now was the DM insulted or feared? Heh, heh. Now look at this.
BIG PIMPIN' IMP challenged down 16 against SUPERIOR FORCES 6N's LITTLE MOKELE 2.
What a weasel! And golly gee, BIG PIMPIN' IMP subdued LITTLE MOKELE 2. Aren't we
all surprised and impressed? I notice FIZZ AND FURS challenging down 26 points to
fight SUSHI, CENTER FOR OLDS doubtless has some rotten excuse for such an insult to
honor. And sorry to say, FIZZ AND FURS defeated SUSHI, leaving a bad feeling with
the crowd. I think exploitive snob is the term I'm looking for.
Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. Honor is like a chainmail shirt, it only
shines through use. Certain nameless cowards will doubtless rebuke me on this one.
What does the TALCAMA arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Just wait 'till next time I show
up here, I won't be so nice! So nyaaah! Glad to see the back of this place-- Snide
Clemens
