Hot Rod's chariot, which had begun the race as a vintage Thunderbird, slanted a
dark wing so as to fend off the claws of Matarse Fury's Jaguar, and opened its beak
to shriek defiance. Lightning flashed from its eyes. Cool! He could do this race-
from-hell business after all! He was THE charioteer in Zuwayza, and nothing could
stop him!
But the really important thing was to WIN. He was sure that his two opponents
would do him a dirty trick if the chance offered, therefore, it was his duty to do
them the dirty first, if he could. But how?
He looked down the endless highway, the veritable Road to Hell as he now
believed. He couldn't see any good intentions paving it, but it was dark. Good
intentions probably didn't show up in the dark.
     Wide, straight, and without end.
But he could see, if he squinted past Matarse Fury, that they were still passing
some version of the Satrap's Palace, too. And he knew that at the end of the palace
wall, there was a side street. If this place still was, in some sense, Zuwayza, then
the side road should be there. And he was going to turn down it. Let Lew Siffer and
Matarse Fury race against each other and WRECK each other, and he'd come along behind
and pick up the pieces.
     Ha!
That would teach them to think they could out-drive HIM.

                                      SPY REPORT

You elder fighters surely remember me. The younger ones may call me Olaf
Modeen. I return to ZUWAYZA once again! What's with CARAMEL? She actually beat
TAHAHN HAH's FINESSE, and walked away with 21 more points from the fight. Major
screwup at TAHAHN HAH. TIPPY lost 18 points to JEWEL. Some new strategies, perhaps?
Maybe TIPPY will provide more easy wins... I can barely restrain my enthusiam for
FUNKY FOLK's outstanding member, Duelmaster CARY YON. Wouldn't it be nice to have
live subjects to practice on? I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted
prisoners.
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... How well I know the
feeling of being in the most avoided team! Don't fall out of practive, THE SIERRAS!
The bums at JAGUAR WARRIORS couldn't face the challenges from THE SIERRAS! No excuse
for that! How well I know the feeling of being the most challenged warrior, GRUNT!
Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to haunt you. HOT ROD didn't quite know
what to make of a challenge he received from STRATUS of TEAM CHAOS, who is 20 points
below him. STRATUS perhaps got hers just desserts, seeing as she was overcame by HOT
ROD and ended up with 32 recognition points.
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. Do you want the fighters
to walk away, or not? Hmm... More surprises must remain in store for me, if LEW
SIFFER can return from the Dark Arena. NIFTY NICKEL larned his lesson (GRUNT taught
it well), and we right likely won't be seein' 'im fight any TAHAHN HAH members with
the same gusto. Here's some advice: study your opponent, master many skills, fight
dirty.
Many other cities have retirement homes for aged warriors. Any plans here? The
end of another Spyreport! That's cause for celebration in my book! Remember--a good
fighter needs both good skills and good luck. Until next time,-- Olaf Modeen

Nifty Nickel -- I'm sure I'll get my 5 cents out of you this turn. Ting came with 3
con and 3 will and had great potential. You will get a challenge from Grunt, then
you will be dispatched. -- Humlae the Horrible

Noachian -- You'll have to wait till my warriors work their way up, then you will
thoroughly crushed. But in the meanwhile, be wary of the venomous concubines. --
Humlae

To all -- You will be crushed again! -- Humlae

Bloodsports -- There seems to be a lot of blood in your fights, but all from your
opponents. You are destined for fame. -- Tahahn Hah

Aurora -- Listen, chick, I know you're interested in a guy like me with cool wheels,
but I just don't have time right now, okay? I've got a race to win. -- Hot Rod
P.S. But after I've won it, why, I'd be glad to take you for a drive.

Aurelius Gaius -- Ah, yes, what fun, eh? I do so enjoy... Blood Sports

Flavius Valerius -- Wrong weapon for your style, rather like trying to fly using a

wet mattress for wings. Try a shortspear. -- Flight Journal
P.S. I was all set to let you reap the harvest of your errors, but Jorja insisted.
Feel free to ignore me.

Tippy -- Annoying wench. See if I ever give YOU a byline. -- Times

Ting -- Yes, that was it, the exact sound when I pinged you a good one! It must be
your armor. If you should ever care to sell that same armor, I can give you a good
deal on an ad. -- Nifty Nickel
P.S. Oh, wait, I killed you. Well, drat. That doesn't help the repeat business
aspect at all. I didn't INTEND to do it, but you want to send your leg-breakers, I
can give them a great deal on an ad, with wide distribution.

Noachian -- There are quite a few miles between the arena you were writing ads for
and the one where they showed up. -- Jorja

20 October 2006
In accordance with those rules set forth by the Lady of the Realm, I hereby announce
the formation of a small group of managers calling themselves "The Outsiders". The
group consists of the following members:
     Doc LeGrande
     Apex
     Street Legal
     Carnage
     Ghoti
     Roadkill
     Valamond
This group has only one rule. Respect the play of the managers of this
alliance. We have no worries about not playing by the rules set forth by others. We
fight the way we like, and all those in this group appreciate what tools each manager
brings. We have managers from the Delarquan, Andorian and Free Blade regions. We
have managers that focus on the tournament arenas, and we have those that focus on
the regular city arenas. We have those in our ranks that fight with honor and
respect for all, and we have those that have a bloodlust that cannot be quenched.
Our goal is simple. To create a ensemble of managers that will show their
prowess in the land of Alastari, and to bring a new level of competition to all those
that share the sands with our warriors. Our warriors are many throughout the land.
We have no home arena. We have no pacts we abide by. Our fighters range from
Mordant to Talcama, from Lapur to Lyratilan, Aruak City to Valamantis, the Primus
arena to Talahya, and many more arenas throughout the land.
Whether we are sought out or ignored makes no difference to us. We are what we
are. We fight how we fight. And we do it however we wish. We have no rules. We
have no leader or ruler. Be prepared. We are.

20 October 2006
The Dark Knights of the Desolate Empire respond thus to the Avengers of the Light:
Where are you? EACH AND EVERY Dark Knight can be found in arenas 31 and 52. Your
pretty words mean less than nothing if you won't fight. EVERY Dark Knight is more
than willing to back up their talk. So...we give you three turns in either 31 or 52,
REPEAT 31 or 52 to show up or shut up. If you don't show we'll let all of Alastari
know the Avengers are indeed cowards! -- Dark Knights of the Desolate Empire

Turf War 5. Whoever sent this to me...please email me at rbaphomets@yahoo.com.
Thanks.
