DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Is there no love for the new Duelmaster? Not a single mention of my well done deeds
to stand alone as champion! Zontani Sharp Eyes' spy report reveals that indeed there
is no love for the new Duelmaster. It must be a mistake! Or perhaps it was not a
mistake, perhaps there is no love for Flavius. For I do recall rumblings earlier in
my career to be shown the DA door, but somehow something clicked and my win one lose
one streaks turned into my current 8-1 roll. I feel proud today to stand as your
Duelmaster...proud of my battles fought. -- Flavius Valerius
SPY REPORT
Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day,
I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again! TEAM CHAOS had cause to celebrate, after
SOLSTICE got 16 points by beating NIFTY NICKEL. NIFTY NICKEL certainly had a baffled
expression on his face, after losing to SOLSTICE and losing 12 points in the process!
In ZUWAYZA, nothing is permanent (except Death), and we find ourselves a new
Duelmaster, WHITE CHOCOATE. So who was the warrior seen charging into immovable
walls and challenging dead trees? Someone's got a basic problem...
My mother wished me to avoid conflict, and seek the gentle trade of Spyreporter.
But warriors aren't supposed to avoid fights! Like the noble eagle soaring amongst
the mountaintops, so stand the warriors of WALI'S FINEST, alone and unchallenged.
Like a pup with its tail between its legs, TAHAHN HAH scurried away from WALI'S
FINEST. Oh, the shame! Is it charming personality? Conversational abilities? Good
oral hygiene? Whatever it is, RED LAKE is the most challenged warrior. BLOOD SPORTS
found himself challenged by a warrior 20 below: MATARSE FURY. MATARSE FURY of
JAGUAR WARRIORS kept hers wits as she was subdued by BLOOD SPORTS.
Is there life after death? Pragmatics (and warriors) know there is death after
life! Like a tattered, worn-out, faded, out-of-fashion garment cast out to rot,
HIDEKI HAO of JAGUAR WARRIORS has been summarily sent to the Dark Arena. Questions
are being raised about the disposing of severed body parts in the arena. A certain
tavern in ZUWAYZA would I avoid!
Do not think spyreporting in ZUWAYZA is the highlight of my life. My fingers
tire and I fear my incessant prattling may cause unfair judgement upon my impeccable
character. ZUWAYZA, I leave you now. The Duelmaster has agreed to foot my bill at
The Drunken Ox. 'Til next time-- Novgorodny Vir

PERSONAL ADS
Jewel -- A great battle, perhaps my best yet. I thought for a moment we might both
plop down on the sands exhausted. It felt as though there was not much power in your
hits, or maybe my body just went numb from taking all those hits that I just didn't
feel them anymore. Either way, a great fight and good for me I got the last hack in.
-- Solstice
Tippy -- Go easy on that stuff, seems to make you mean. -- Red Lake
White Chocolate -- Wasn't expecting to hook up with you, surprised I lasted long
enough to beat you, nice way to head into retirement. -- Murphy
Venenoso -- Too many fights on me, we'll have to do it again down the road! -- 18k
Feet
Blood Sports -- Master is in a DAing mood. You've just given him a reason to DA me.
Thanks. -- Hideki Hao
Flavius Valerius -- That's my throne you're sitting on. Move it! -- Matarse Fury
18FT. -- "Too Tall" would be a better name. -- Venenoso
This team sucks! I've been trying to get the up 50% win/loss with no luck. You guys
are just too tough. Time to DA everybody except Matarse. She is one of those styles
that I have yet to graduate from this arena. So she'll stick around. Everybody else
is history. Here's hoping the replacements are worthy. -- Noachian, mgr. Jaguar
Warriors
Hideki Hao -- That was pathetic. You couldn't hold the lead for a single moment! I
begin to think that you are not fit to engage in... Blood Sports
Finesse -- There are times when that can be valuable, but other times when nothing
but the bold and direct course will get you on the ground in one piece. Too much
finesse eats up your time and your airspace. Don't forget the three most useless
things in flying and in life, which often come about due to thinking too much and
acting too late. -- Flight Journal
Caramel -- (exasperated sigh) What did you EXPECT, putting your ad on the last page
with the "miscellany and junk"? People are more likely than not to take you at your
own valuation, you know. -- Nifty Nickel
P.S. There's an ART, almost a SCIENCE, to placing successful ads.
Ong-Bak -- Ah, the man of the hour! I was beginning to get worried about our team's
performance, but you have reassured me. Of course, it would have gone down even
BETTER if Hot Rod was the one to get a loss today, but we take what we've got and
work with it. -- Times
Jakrapong -- Seems to me you must be named after one of those really strange games
that dwarves play in the dark tunnels. I like something more direct, maybe a drag
race down the Processional Way or whatever. -- Hot Rod

I have not been receiving my physical turns in a reliable manner lately. If there
are diplos with the turns that go missing, they're gone for good. So if you send me
a diplo and do not see an acknowledgement of receipt in the personals, know that I
have not gotten it (yet). If you have email, contact me at Livia AT reality DOT com.
If you don't have email, keep trying with the diplos. We are working on this
problem. -- the Scribe/Jorja/Leeta
P.S. If you email me, put "Re DM" on the subject line.
