DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Hail Warriors of Zuwayza! Your Duelmaster bids you greetings and salutations! It is
indeed an honor to hold the title here in Zuwayza, an ancient and time honored arena.
While the arena has seen much better days, I hold out the hope that we will
eventually see an influx of new teams.
I salute Cunning Runts, Wali's Finest and the Magnificent Mags on our matchups. I
think Bart Simpson looks like a future AD candidate and should be back on top in no
time. As for me, I need two FE to make the adepts cut and after that, I hope to be
in Free Blades with my Roman countrymen. Dardanius and Tiberius will be joining me
in the upcoming tourney as well.
In Primus, it is down to Julius (original Ides of March rollup sheet), Lord of the
Floyds and The Unholy Child as the Zuwayza contingent. In Free Blades, we only have
Gimme Some Sugar as our sole representative. I hope to change that soon by joining
him.
That's a wrap for this turn. My challenges go out to Jack Hamma, although I'm
thinking he won't run with 19 regular arena fights.... That leaves Wee Man (reminds
me of all of those Jackass episodes. "Don't drink and try this at home." lol).
Deep Thought: Since it is largely "you and us" here, let's keep the kill desires low
and not get offended by any up or down challenges. If I challenge down 10 or 20
points to fight a guy with the same FE, it is simply because there is "no one else to
challenge."
We wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you out on the
sands.
I remain...
Antonius (5063)

Ides of March (226)
SPY REPORT
Welcome ZUWAYZA. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights have
I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... Bein' on top is great while
it lasts, IDES OF MARCH. But how many friends do you have now? It seems so recently
people were saying FUNKY FOLK was washed up, finished. But 4-0-0 moved them up 1. I
guess they're washed no more... What's with EVEL DEWAR? He actually beat THE
MAGNIFICENT MAGS' THE ARTIST, and walked away with 15 more points from the fight.
Laughs were big at FUNKY FOLK while they watched EVEL DEWAR clobber THE ARTIST. She
lost 14 points and got bruised from objects thrown from the stands. Apparently
ZUWAYZA isn't filled with as many gutless wonders as I thought. The Dreaded
Duelmaster got 3 challenges this turn! See how the Duelmaster challenged FUNKY
FOLK's JACK HAMMA? That sort of initiative is how he got where he is now. I can
barely restrain my enthusiam for FUNKY FOLK's outstanding member, Duelmaster JACK
HAMMA. Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects to practice on? I hear some team
is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners.
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports. The
most avoided team was FUNKY FOLK. Management must be dealin', as the boys at IDES OF
MARCH ain't reelin'! FUNKY FOLK's mad! Fighting is a better craft than farming,
BLACK BELT, but you have to pay your dues. Being challenged by PUBLIUS, 17 points
above you, is dues. PUBLIUS left the match looking worse than when he went in, after
BLACK BELT, with a 21-12-0, walked all over him.
Warriors of ZUWAYZA unite. You have only your games to lose! Is it my
imagination, or are fighters getting younger every day? To die so young, so
gloriously!
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
The end of another Spyreport! That's cause for celebration in my book! I don't want
to overstay my welcome...-- Olaf Modeen

PERSONAL ADS
Funky Folk -- Is there a method to your madness? You fight your four Initiates but
not your Duelmaster, and he loses his title. Are you parking him for an upcoming
tourney? Just curious. -- Deep Thought
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to my fellow managers and all of the staff at RSI.
I wish you all peace and safe travels. -- Brian Ledingham, A.K.A. Deep Thought
Wee Man -- I suppose it makes a kind of sense for you to be studying the arts of
combat, you being such a runt and all. Heck, it's probably even cunning. But just
remember that the real world is not like the arena, and in the REAL world, a good big
man will defeat a good little man more times than you care to think about. -- Black
Belt
P.S. I call this a "reality check."
P.P.S. Okay, so I'm feeling sour. I figure I'm entitled to feel a little sour, I
ate a lemon. Heck, I had a lemon shoved down my throat whether I wanted it or not.
Evel Dewar -- Ah, you seem to be just my cup of tea, in so far as I could be said to
favor "tea," which I don't mostly. But you're prefect for my collection. -- Trash
Collector
P.S. Don't mind the disorientation, it just shows you're in touch with the real
world.
Al Byno -- Definitely not a person I could warm to easily, too cold in your coloring.
True, I could probably do something creative with light and shadow, but that would be
WORK. I'm not working today. It's a holiday. I'm resting so I can do better later.
When it's WARM out. This is no season for plein air work. -- The Artist
Stewie Griffin -- Have you considered a little bronzing powder on your wings, maybe
with gold and turquoise accents? I feel sure we could put together a really striking
statement here. -- Ornament
P.S. How do you feel about piercings? I've come into possession of an exciting
collection of rings and studs.
Shirl Locke -- That hat! It's got to go, definitely. It isn't YOU and even worse it
isn't NOW. Besides, it'll give you "hat hair," and trust me when I say you don't
want that. Definitely Not Cool. -- Modern Scene
Publius -- If you're going to be THAT way, I can see why no other standby turned out
to fight. -- Grobend Stoneaxe, Dwarf of Khalhums
Marcellus -- C'mon, a 14 point down challenge vs. a fighter that you destroyed the
previous turn, that's very Delarquan of you. Is your manager trying to keep you
alive for graduation by using mismatched DC's? I guess I shouldn't expect an answer
since your team never writes personals, leaving it up to Jorja and myself to keep
some life in this arena. -- Deep Thought
Don't know what happened to my personals and DM column for last turn, I guess they
didn't make it through the fax. Thanks for keeping things going last turn Jorja, 9
personals, you're a writing fool. -- Deep Thought
Ides of March -- I thought I had runts, the biggest warrior I've seen on your team is
9 size. It must be nice to get such nice replacements. -- Deep Thought
