There was much lamenting and rejoicing among the patrons of the Tongues Of Fire
Resort, regarding the sudden deaths of Eliamahgondah and Roobahiah.
The women they had been entertaining in the private baths were heartbroken. Both
men and women were cursing their misfortune of having bet heavily on the two
favorites, but although it was a stunning loss, especially Roobahiah upon whom the Big
Money Bets had lost pounds and pounds of gold, it was a loss that was proving
profitable to the veteran manager.
Hammer had seen an increase in revenue, not only from the losses of those who had
wagered their gold upon the newly slain warriors, but also the flow of gold as bets
were being placed in anticipation of the rumored twin Shagornan Elves that were being
registered with the Seam Gladiatorial Commission as their replacements!
Speaking of twins, the wagering was becoming more heated as more bets were being
placed upon Ahshondai and Ahshondalai, ranging from who would graduate first to who
would die first, as the profits of gold coins kept stacking in the favor of the Hammer
accounts.
Meanwhile, the Half Elf at the bottom of the Initiates rankings, one Frettyah of
the Ah Tongues Of Fire gladiator guild, tried to keep her focus on staying alive in
the Seam Arena, while training in earnest to become the first Duelmaster in Seam Arena
from her guild. Bets were being placed on the rumored twin newcomers, including
becoming the first Duelmaster in Seam Arena from the Ah Tongues Of Fire gladiator
guild; not to mention which one would live longer than the three original remaining
warriors of said guild.
Frettyah refused to allow such talk of bets and survival and who would attain the
Seam Arena Throne first from her guild to distract her from training with a renewed
vigor and purpose.
From the looks of things around the Tongues Of Fire Resort betting parlors, the
odds were that Frettyah was indeed the underdog of the guild.

SPY REPORT
Hello, my pretties! It is a rainy day here in Seam and I nearly ruined a new
pair of riding boots. I bought them in Lyratilan and the shopkeeper assured me they
were genuine albino phase lizard collected after a Chaos Gate opening. Needless to
say, you can't just go down to the corner cobbler and buy a pair! Luckily, I learned
a spell years ago that keeps even the smallest smidge of dirt off my clothing and
boots. Is it worth the flawless ruby I destroy during the casting? Of course it is!
Look how marvelous I look! Alright, enough about fashion. Let's talk about all the
exciting action in the arena.
SIF took the throne last turn on recognition. He also got his invitation to the
Isle of the Eye, making for a short reign. This turn, SIF received a challenge from
CLUCKEROO of I'M NOT EGGBERT. Even with his new immortality, SIF was unable to beat
CLUCKEROO, so we have a new Duelmaster. Congrats to CLUCKEROO and the I'M NOT EGGBERT
guild! CLUCKEROO was not content with only the throne, but he also seized the
Chartered Recognition Leader award and continued to be the fan favorite with the
Popularity Leader award. CLUCKEROO is managed by Vlad.
Is there an art to avoiding other teams in the arena? The Commission is always
so closed-lip about their procedures, so I'm always curious what rituals and rites
have arisen in the individual guilds for such things. Gladiators, and most especially
their managers, are a superstitious lot, so I am convinced there is something to this
line of reasoning! Oh well, inquiring mind and all... The most avoided team this
turn is LOST SENTINELS and they are most avoided by THIRSTY THUGS. As to challenges,
there is one warrior more popular than the others, would you like to guess who before
I end the mystery for you? The most challenged warrior this turn is AHSHONDAI of AH
TONGUES OF FIRE. AHSHONDAI had other plans though, which we will get to in a moment.
A special congrats to Aragorn and his PHILANTHROLORDS. They are the second team
to reach 100 wins. On the turn they reach this milestone, they also take over they
take over the Top Team, trading places with our former top team THE OUTLAWS 3.
DEITIES AND DEMIGODS trade places with COMMERCIALIST, going from 5th to 2nd. The only
constant in the top 5 is the DARQUE KNIGHTS stable who remain at 4. The biggest gain
for the turn goes to HUCKLE'S CATS who jumped up 4 places to 6th. COMMERCIALIST have
the biggest slide (though not very sizeable), slipping 3 places to 5th.
Death took the day off in Seam, which will probably make his pay a little light,
but I do not see any managers complaining. So, no one died this turn, but a few
people did get revenge for previous deaths! That is exciting, right?!? AH TONGUES OF
FIRE had two feuds to settle. The first was against BALDUR of DEITIES AND DEMIGODS.
AHSHONDAI, this turn's most challenged, avoided all those requests to avenge his
fallen teammate. AHSHONDAI planned well, and he was able to overcome BALDUR in a 2
minute bout. Next, FRITO BANDITO of COMMERCIALIST got a visit from AHSHONDALAI. When
the dust settled, FRITO BANDITO may have a little regret for killing ROOBAHIAH last
turn since AHSHONDALAI beat him. Huckle did not send anyone after PEARL HEART for the
death of JASON THE MASON, but there are still 3 turns left to settle that score.
JOSEY WALES from THE OUTLAWS 3 goes unavenged as the bloodfeud expires against
DEADLINE's warrior RAYNER. I believe it is clear to see fight experience may have
played a role in that decision.
I must be off, my sweets! This spell only last for another hour and I need to be
in a carriage and heading north before it expires. I hope to see you next turn for
some exciting action. Will CLUCKEROO hold onto the throne and be granted immortality?
