Notes from the arena champ.
Welly, welly, well. Honored to be the first of my squad to be DM here in Seam. Been in
Seam for over 30 turns now and I know I'm not as popular as some of you flashier
styles, I welcome all to this new game of "King of the Hill". With Spring right around
the corner, I hope for some extra long fights -- maybe pack a lunch? Take a break,
relax some, stretch, maybe chat some in between rounds with the audience. The crowd
does love to interact at my fights, always yelling suggestions, and amusing anecdotes.
One particular individual seems awfully whiny though -- "this is taking too
long...sad!" or "it's really unfair that this warrior is hogging all the daylight for
his fight...boo!" so on and whatnot. I've contemplated inviting him onto the sands of
Seam to see how he'd fare. Probably not a good idea to go there, getting those that
come to be entertained involved in the actual worky work.
Here's to a long and fruitful reign as KOTH...or at least until the call comes from
ADM.

SPY REPORT
Greetings, my sweetlings! Welcome back to Seam and the glorious gladiatorial
games. Wow, that was a lot of unintentional alliteration! Regardless, it is
wonderful to see each of you. It is always good to gather with good friends, good
food, and good wine each cycle to watch the games. I am actually happy with only two
of three, as long as one of them is good wine. All three were excellent this week,
thank you for asking! Onto the games, my darlings!
Something horrible has happened to Pixelbenders! This is the only excuse I can
imagine for missing a turn after you have taken the throne. Send out the search
parties! Raise the alarms! Until they are found, we have a new Duelmaster. Thor,
who is nearly as old as this re-opened arena, was challenged by Minnesota Jones. This
became our title fight and Thor ascends to the throne after a short one-sided affair.
Congrats to Thor and his guild, who are managed by Deep Thought. Since Thor did not
get his invitation to the Isle, the question on everyone's mind is, can he hold onto
it next cycle?
Darque Knights gets the honor of being the most avoided team this cycle. They
were most avoided by I'm Not Eggbert. If you just experienced a bit of deja vu,
you're not alone... you're not alone. It is the same as last turn. A Darque Knights
warrior, Ra-Ra Rainwar, was also the most challenged warrior this turn. Ledaig of
Thirsty Thugs challenged down 10 points. To Ledaig's defense, he was surrounded by
his own teammates. Who knows what goes through the minds of you managers when you
make these challenges. Interesting to ponder, nonetheless!
There were 23 fights this turn and 5 of them ended in death! It seems extreme
until you consider 3 of those were in the Dark Arena, where someone is expected to die
in every bout. The first non-Dark Arena death belongs to Darque Knights. Lisya
Brightstar fought Khondohlavishah in a 3 minute bout before giving up the ghost.
Rumor is Lisya tried to lay a dying curse on her killer, but couldn't pronounce
"Khondolavishah" for it to take effect! It looks like it will be up to Lisya's
teammates to exact some revenge if they so choose. The second non-Dark Arena death
sees Ah Tongues of Fire on the mourner's side. Ahshondai was killed by Ben Nevis of
Thirsty Thugs in a 1 minute fight.
Pixelbenders falls from the top spot due to their inactivity. How is that search
party coming along? Lost Sentinels steps into take their place with an impressive 10-
5-4 over the last 3 turns. Deities and Demigods, Thirsty Thugs, and I'm Not Eggbert
all move up this week to take over 2nd through 4th. Darque Knights stays in the 5th
position. The biggest gain for the week is a tie between Thirsty Thugs and I'm Not
Eggbert, who jumped 4 places. The biggest slip, among the active teams, belongs to
Huckle's Cats, who fell 3 spots to 6th.
It is time to draw this to a close, my sweets! I mentioned good wine earlier,
and it appears my "good" friends have emptied my cellar. I must go procure more
before next cycle's fights, wine and friends! I hope to see you all next turn. Can
