SPY REPORT
Hello, my pretties, and welcome to Seam. Your intrepid spy reporter and Yellow
Press diva, Sidara Brightbell here. I'm reporting from the infirmary today. I figure
a change of scenery was in order to get the creative juices flowing. For the record,
it was a horrible plan! So many injured warriors here, about half the arena, if you
can believe it. The other half, or the winners as we like to call them, were patched
up pretty quick and have returned to their guild houses. Okay, the groans of pain have
died down enough for me to think, so let's get to this turn's arena action.
Last turn's Duelmaster, Opacity: 100%, has been enjoying a lengthy reign on
Seam's fine throne. This turn saw our champion facing off against another arena
veteran, Karma from Losers. It was quite the exciting fight! Karma is our Popularity
Leader, so you can imagine that his fans were out in droves during the title fight.
The title match is usually the most anticipated of the day and usually has the highest
attendance. This cycle was no different. After it was all over, Opacity remained the
Duelmaster, but Karma put on a mighty fine show for the audience. Opacity won the
throne and the honor associated with it, but both warriors received an invitation to
the Isle of the Eye after the fight. Congrats to our newest Lord Protectors!
The most avoided team for the turn is Lost Sentinels. They were avoided most by
Phantom Regiment. The most challenged warrior for turn 64 is Mdjai of Deadline. I
was about to praise Weirding Ways for a rare upchallenge, but then I looked at the
variou experience of each warrior and decided my stitching skill deserves more lauding
than that anemic act. Mdjai lost in a one minute bout against Brass Hammer. No one
was shocked. No one is ever shocked. Well, that isn't true because we had a
"shocker" of a fight, but we'll discuss that one later.
The only dead for the turn were a non-descript teenage hooligan that was
ironically slain by Graveborn Paladin. The other was a Dark Arena death at the hands
of Dark Champion. With little to report in this department, we will instead focus on
arena fights involving our award winners for turn 64. Our Popularity Leader and
Turn's Most Popular, who happen to be the same warrior, have already been discussed.
Marvel continues to make a name for themselves in the arena, and Gambit is sitting
pretty (in more ways than one) as our Unchartered Recognition Leader with a 8-1-0
record. Marvel should receive their charter next turn, so congrats to Hombre and
crew! I told you there was a shocking fight in this cycle's bouts. It involved a
down challenging crew known as Weirding Ways and their warrior, Angelique. Angelique
showed true skill and warrior's heart by going down 26 points and nearly 7 times the
fight experience to face Piwi Steelmoon. The great shocker is, well, most of you seen
if for yourselves, but the bookie report said it all! ANGELIQUE was demolished by
PIWI STEELMOON in a 1 minute Challenge competition. I spoke with fellow spy reporter
Novgorodny Vir after the fight and he said, "Next time Angelique walks with her head
high remind her of the fight where she challenged down 26 points and lost to Piwi
Steelmoon." Great advice, as always, from Novgorodny.
Phantom Regiment takes over the top team from Weirding Ways, who tumbled down to
4th. Marvel moves up 2 spots to 2nd place, while Deadline makes a bigger move from
8th to 3rd. Lost Sentinels remains in 5th place. Pixelbenders is the only team to
fall out of the top 5 from last turn. Deadline's 5 place gains is the largest of the
turn, while Weirding Ways and Thirsty Thugs fell 3 for the biggest loss of the turn.
The smell of iodine, sweat, and blood is getting to be too much for my delicate
constitution. If I have to walk through vomit once more today, it may ruin my
generally flowery disposition. Poor dears, I know they cannot help they are sick. Or
maybe they could have helped it, if only they had dodge that lunge rather than
attempted to parry it. Or been a bit more aggressive on the sands, rather than
allowing their opponent to beat them to the punch. Argh, I apologize my darlings, it
is so easy to be a Monday morning gladiator. I'm off from this depressing place, so I
hope I will see each of you next turn in Seam! We will have a new Duelmaster. We
know this to be true because Opacity is graduating. Who will take his place? Come
