SPY REPORT
Welcome back, my darlings! There is not much of a chill in the air as last time, but
the weather if funny like that, isn't it? One moment you are freezing, the next
moment you are sweating! Someone must have appeased the weather gods this week for
such pleasant temperatures, so I will just enjoy it while it lasts. Ah, yes, the
games! You came to hear about this week's fights, and I'm glad you are here. Let's
take a look, shall we?
Kurgan leaves us for the Isle and decided to test out his new immortality in the Dark
Arena. I can understand one wanting to snub their nose at death, but I do not think I
would enjoy the process. Swords, maces, and shield bases still hurt, and I cannot
imagine dying being a pleasant experience even when you know it is not permanent.
Kurgan fought Bandit Prince to the death! Sadly, it was Kurgan's death that ended the
fight. Enjoy the Isle of the Eye!
Our title fight this cycle saw Mausoleum match up with Pollux Lynxear. With so many
fights, Pollux is becoming a mainstay in the Challenger Champions, so if he remains, I
feel like I will be writing his name a lot. Mausoleum beat Pollux in a 2-minute bout.
While it lasted longer than most fights, it was still a one-sided affair with
Mausoleum dominating the match. Congrats to our new Duelmaster and our newest Lord
Protector, Mausoleum! He is managed by Nomad. It looks as if we will welcome a new
Duelmaster next turn. Exciting stuff!
Only 4 deaths to note this turn and 75% of those were in the Dark Arena. I've
mentioned our for Duelmaster already, so that leaves Oakleaf and Pixelbenders sending
Rookies to fight by torchlight. The only regular death occurred when Rudolf Von
Flugel of Huckle's Cats randomly matched up with Jobe from the Thirsty Thug's guild.
As often happens with young warriors, they just didn't know when to quit and one of
them died! Condolences to Thirsty Thugs for their loss.
It looks like it is a bad time to be a Striker or a Slasher in the arena. Strikers
were a pitiful 1-7 this cycle, while Slashers went winless at 0-4. We do not have any
Parry Ripostes and are limited in the Parry Lunge and Parry Strike areas with only 1
representative for each style. Oddly enough, Bashers are the most popular style in
the arena, which one would assume to help all those Strikers. Ah, that is why I love
these games! The uncertainty of it all!
Time for me to go, my sweets! I want to see each of you back next. Hey, maybe invite
a friend or two to join in the fun here in our beautiful arena. Seam is such a nice
place to settle with all of the hot springs and wonderful spa facilities! Oh yes,
those spas are one of the key reasons I requested the spy reporter position here. See
