SPY REPORT
Welcome back, my darlings! It is good to actually see some of you in the arena today!
The lockdowns have eased a bit in some areas and we are running at 50% capacity today.
I hope by in the next few days that it will all return to normal and the stands will
once again be packed!
Let's get started with our title fight today. Xapha Ironjaw got the opportunity to
defend the throne against Freddie Fox. These two have faced each other three times in
the past with Xapha holding a slim 2-1 lead in those meetings. Gamblers would
probably have a hard time calling this one, but I'd wager a slight advantage to Xapha.
Luckily, I am not a gambler! Freddie Fox beat Xapha Ironjaw to become our newest
Duelmaster! Freddie also got invited to the Isle, so he is doubly honored as our
newest Lord Protector! Congratulations to Freddie who is managed by Huckle Cat.
The most avoided team for this turn is Phantom Regiment. It looks as if Darque
Knights ran away anytime the Phantoms showed up. I can't say I blame Darque's crew.
Most people are frightened of ghosts! The most challenged warrior was once again Mr.
Read-a-Lot. We can't really say there is any mystery as to why he is the most
challenged. I think the bigger question is why does Huckle Cat have so much patience
with him? This turn, Sunder challenged Mr. Read-a-Lot and was able to overcome the
resident arena punching bag in 2-minutes.
There were 2 deaths this turn. One was a Dark Arena death for Pixelbenders. They
sent an untested Rookie to the torch fights. The more intriguing death came when Muck
of Lost Sentinels matched up randomly with Rudolf Von Flugel of Huckle's Cats. The
recognition points were within a reasonable range, but the fight experience was more
than a bit skewed. It did not help that Muck already had 3 kills to his credit before
the fight. We can now make that 4 kills as poor Rudolf did not survive the day.
Condolences to Huckle Cat and his crew. It looks like we could see a bloodfeud with
the arena title as an added bonus next turn!
Next turn could shape up to be an interesting one! 80s Fantasy is on the rise and has
taken over the top team spot. They pushed out Pixelbenders, who are still in
contention for the best team over the last 3 turns. Vendetta is holding strong in 3rd
place and is doing quite well, especially for a manger that has just returned to the
game after hiatus. Phantom Regiment had the biggest gain moving up from 9th to 5th
place. Huckle's Cats round out the top 5. The largest loss goes to Oakleaf, who
slipped down 3 in the rankings.
Time for me to go, my sweets! I do hope each of you are doing well and have avoided
much the sickness that has been so widespread! I want to see each of you next turn if
the arena is fully operational again. I suspect it will do wonders for the morale of
the gladiators to see fans once again. See you soon!
