SPY REPORT

Welcome back to New Seam! It is hot and in the forecast later this week, we have more
heat! It is hot on the sands and it is hot in the stands. The arena master told me
he had to move the weapon racks out of the sun because the fighters were getting burns
on their hands during practice. The water attendants have been busy today, but not
even this heat was able to keep the fans from the fights! Let's take a look at what
happened this turn in our fair, extremely hot arena today!

Dumbo was on his way out of the arena after this turn because he has been invited to
the Isle. Wanting to make the most thrilling exit possible, Lord Protector Dumbo
blood feuded our Duelmaster, Torquil. It is good to go to the Isle, but it is probably
a quiet trip when you lose your final fight! Torquil beat Dumbo and remains our
Duelmaster! Congrats to Torquil, who is managed by Hombre.

It looks as if Firehand Orcs were our most avoided team today. It is already hot, so
I can't imagine anyone wanting to face a team with "firehand" in the name! Darque
Knights appear to be the most averse to those hot-handed orcs. It seems like a waste
of avoids since the Firehand Orcs guild only ran one warrior this cycle. The most
challenged warrior for the turn is once again Mr Read-a-Lot. He is on this list a
lot! This time, Gehena of Vendetta decided to try his hand against the 5-29-0
veteran. It paid off as Gehena beat Mr Read-a-Lot in a short, one-sided fight.

Sadly, there is only one death to report this turn. Sad for me because one gladiator
has died, and sad for you because only one gladiator has died. In an odd random match
up, Vox Sunfire, the veteran arena fighter with over 30 fights, put down poor Vector,
who was entering the sixth (6th) fight of his career. Yeah, I don't understand the
Commission matchmakers at times, but it is what it is! Poor Vector fought his last.
Condolences to Pixelbenders and luck for any upcoming feuds. There were 29 fights
this cycle with 19 challenges overall and 3 of those blood feuds. Managers are paying
attention in Seam! This is a good thing!

Warlords continue to rise in the arena and finally take over the top team! The former
number 1 team, Vendetta, falls into 4th place after a 2-3 turn. Phantom Regiment
joined the top 5 this week after Firehand Orcs fell 8 places to 11th. Thirsty Thugs
moved up to 2nd and 80s Fantasy slipped one spot into 3rd. The biggest gain for the
turn belonged to Weirding Ways, who rose 5 in the rankings to 6th.

Time for me to go, my darlings! This heat and humidity are doing a number on my hair.
I love hats for style, but wearing one now is like walking around with a wet bucket
upon my head. This certainly will not do! I hope to see each of you next time and
cooler temperatures too! Dumbo can't try for the throne again, but Jayce is now in
range to be Oakleaf's avenger against Torquil! It looks like it can be exciting! See

Name Change-o-Rama -- Final Update

The Commission's administrative office on the Isle was in a big square building
that looked like any other administrative office building in any national capital.
Standard, boring. Except for the goats. Half a dozen goats were wandering free,
eating the landscaping, and as many clerks were chasing them. A clerk saw them
coming, he looked like a Trustworthy Scribe, and he rushed over to the approaching
gladiators. "Do you know anything about goats?" He gestured helplessly at the hungry
goats. "They're here because of the Name-Change-o-Rama. We donate them to help change
the world, you know."
The gladiators nodded. They'd heard about it, but hadn't thought it would be so
funny to see. "How did you deal with them last time?"
The clerk made a disgusted gesture. "People came and took them away. But the
people didn't come this time. They sent a message about being quarantined! Aren't we
all? And WE get to work! Goats are not in our job description."
One of the gladiators snorted laughter. "We'll help," he said. "Where do you
want them?"

Embric, relieved that he had not been appointed goat-herder this afternoon,
carefully dipped his pen in ink and began to write. "It is our pleasure and honor
to note that one hundred and twenty-seven gladiators and teams have elected to change
their names, supporting the contribution of goats to deserving people. With the
Commission's matching funds, this has purchased six goats--a good goat can't be
purchased for a copper, you know. The goats are already en route to their new homes,
where they will be--" He paused and thought about it. "--very welcome. We wish all
the best to the goats and the new goat-owners."
