Manray regarded the diminutive figure gracing his doorway. "Hello, to what may I
attribute this unexpected visit?"
Tipping her head back she drained the remnants of an oversized can, swabbing away
a glistening malt liquor mustache with her forearm. She paused, holding up one finger,
then belched impressively.
"Mr. Frothingslosh... do you think you could call me Opal?"
"Well, when you came to work for me you began a new life, and that starts with a
new name."
"Yeah but I don't look like Isis at all, my hair is blond and I hate dresses. My
momma said she could hardly keep me in... um, between my cousins chasing me around and
the neighbors stealing... um offa the clothesline."
"Yes... I think I remember that being mentioned in your file. Well, try to be
patient. I'll tell you what. If you make it to graduation, we'll talk about what to
call you. How does that sound?"
Her face brightened and she flashed a lovely grin spotlighting a single missing
tooth. "Awesome!"
"Yes! Fantastic," he concurred.
She remained grinning, the pause growing slightly uncomfortable.
"So... anything else?"
"Well," she slowly approached his desk, "I wanted to ask about my bonus for this
last fight."
"Yes, that was quite an exciting contest! You executed the training to
perfection. Your kill bonus will be added to your normal paycheck, as usual."
"But that's tomorrow!"
"Well, yes, that's pretty soon right?"
"But there's a party tonight in celebration of my kill!"
"There's a party for you? How fabulous."
"Well, it's a wake for Beowulf, but that's like a party"
"I'm confused how that matters?"
"I want to get my armor powder dipped with a rainbow color-shift... and I'm a
little short of muns."
"Ah. Well, can't you borrow money from one of the others?"
"They all said no."
"Then go talk to Dale, they shouldn't have a problem making a house loan."
"Yay!"
Manray watched as she skipped into the distance, questioning the wisdom of his
involvement in politics.
SPY REPORT
Welcome back to the arena, my sweets! Good to see each of you on this beautiful day.
I do love how Arenamaster has allowed a bit more "brightness" on the arena grounds. I
had pleaded for years for there to be a few flowers planted here and there. I do not
know what prompted the change, but I like it. I mean, if someone just so happened to
cast a few spells to put some gorgeous and resilient flowers around this place, I
commend them! Okay, let's look at what happened in our dear arena today.
It was a title defense kind of day in Seam. Ya'll Qaeda sat proudly on the throne
through today's fights before he was called to the sands. No challenges appear to
have reached our Duelmaster and it does not look as if he issued any either. Command
X was selected to face the champion. It only took 2 minutes for Ya'll Qaeda to show
the arena why he sits upon the throne of Seam. Our dear Duelmaster received a double
honor on this day! He has retained the throne and is now invited to the Isle.
Congratulations to Lord Protector Ya'll Qaeda, who is managed by Manray.
The most avoided team today is Huckle's Cats. They were mostly avoided by Way of All
Flesh. Hydra was our most challenged warrior. I have more to say about that fight
later, so read ahead if you want the spoiler. There were no deaths this turn outside
of the Dark Arena, but it looks like a few teams are clearing their rosters for new
talent. Darque Knights and Lost Sentinels both sent two warriors to the fight by
torchlight. Darque's crew were arena rookies, while Lost Sentinels sent a 28 fight
warrior with 2 kills and a 12 fight warrior with 1 kill. I can imagine the Lost
Sentinels' guild house will be on edge this evening!
In what had to be one of the more embarrassing fights of the turn, Vanilla Isis
challenged down 47 points to face Hydra. I know that I usually rake you guys over the
coals when you down challenge, but 47 points? I will acknowledge that Vanilla was
atop the recognition chain at 151 points, but come on! Well, I did say it was a bit
embarrassing, so you have probably already guessed that Hydra won the fight and shot
up 16 points in the rankings to rest just under the Duelmaster. There were a number
of teams missing this turn too. Where did everyone go? It was a mass exodus of the
top career teams as 1 thru 3 decided they had something more important to do than
fight in New Seam. Come back! Please?
Way of All Flesh continues to lead the arena over the last 3 turns. In fact, the top 2
spots are unchanged as Darque Knights stay put as well. The shake-ups start in the
3rd position where Alfredovision (TM) moves into the top 5. Lost Sentinels also
jumped into the top teams, moving up 4 spots. Hero's Inc was our only top team that
fell in today's rankings. They slipped from 3rd into 5th. Beer Bellies' inactivity
caused them to slip the farthest this week, going from 4th to 11th. Lost Sentinels
and Metal Blade tied for largest gains as each climbed 4.
Time for me to go, my darlings. It was a joy as always to see each of you again. I
do hope you will come and join me again in 14 days. I pray the missing managers to
make their way back to us too. It is always a more enjoyable arena day when everyone
is here with us. We will have a new Duelmaster next turn since Ya'll Qaeda is leaving
us, but you will have to come to see WHO it is! See you next time!

Very harsh turn. Beowulf got himself killed in a challenge. Remarkable how 3 masters
didn't do him any good. Remarkable that my best warrior gets killed the same turn that
my first warrior gets sent to ADM. Now I am left with two sub par champions and a
newbie to bloodfeud with. The replacements are a joke but I'm not going to dark arena
them right away. Congrats to Way of all flesh for not only the kill but defeating Ajax
to take the title. I'll be sending my leftovers against you to at least say I am
attempting revenge. Remarkably, Im not even upset at the loss. I had that funny
feeling for a while now esp since he didn't get his invite when he should have. Oh

Master Darque
Hey it was a slosher clean-sweep; we won ALL the arena awards!! Well...all except for
the so-called "popularity" leader. I don't think you should get an award for that;
around here I would rather see them give out an award to whomever bathes the most! As
a matter of fact; I really think it would make more sense if Cor would just apologize
to the arena for his grand-standing and overly ostentatious behavior. -- alfredo
