There have been many problems with personal ads not getting printed, and that being
the case I have decided to make the following change:
Personal ads will no longer be required for the remainder of the contest. Furthermore,
your team will receive a bottle retroactively for every turn you have been active
regardless of whether or not you submitted a personal ad(s).
I still encourage everyone to participate in writing personal ads and keeping our
beloved SEAM active and lively. But, it will no longer be a requirement. -- alf

Notes from the arena champ.
Hello Seam. What a nice surprise it was to get the invite to Isle. Little Omen only
had a 4 CON. Never had a low CON Aimer survive. I will be sending Omen to fight in the
Dark Arena for his last fight.

SPY REPORT
Here we are once again, my darlings, in the wonderful city of Seam on this most
glorious day of gladiatorial combat! I do enjoy each day that we can gather at the
arena and behold the skill and prowess of these fine warriors. Welcome to each of you
as we take a look at all the happenings in this fine arena city. The sands were busy
today, so let's not waste any more of your time with pleasantries!
Our former Duelmaster and newly named Lord Protector, Omen, decided to test out his
new gift of immortality in the Dark Arena. This is a common practice among the
gladiators for their final arena fight before heading to the Isle. I, for one, will
never understand it. I know they are immortal, but I also know that death isn't
painless, especially when you consider a scimitar to the face! And, what about scars?
I know the healers are only concerned with keeping the Lord Protectors alive, and they
do not concern themselves with cosmetics. Omen fought Black Orc in this final fight.
Black Orc notches another kill, while Omen goes off to the advanced games.
With Omen gone from the arena, our title fight shifted to a contest of recognition.
This fight also ended with a kill. The Redneck fought Tala One-Hand for the throne of
Seam. In the end, The Redneck killed Tala and secured the title of Duelmaster.
Congrats to The Redneck, who is managed by The Landlord. Condolences to Darque
Knights, but this might set up some interesting scenarios next cycle if they
bloodfeud. As a spy reporter, I always welcome these types of complications!
There were eight deaths this cycle, but none as high profile as Tala. Most took place
in the Dark Arena. Lost Sentinels lost their gladiator, Fallout, to Ah Tongues of
Fire's Brondoshondiehi. There have not been too many deaths in the past four turns,
so it is not shocking to see there were no bloodfeuds. This is usually a sign of
inactivity, but the challenges were plenteous.
Constant Sorrow is our most avoided team with Stranger Danger being the team that
avoided them the most. Brahndahdahdiah was the arena's most challenged warrior. It
was The Aces of No Tournament Blues that got the call and in the end was victorious.
The Aces challenge was the largest of the turn at 22 points. Another daring challenge
came when Liz Danforth challenged Bozo the Clown. Liz reached 19 points above in the
rankings and demolished Bozo in a 6-minute bout. Also, it is worthy noting that there
appears to be more down challenges that up challenges this turn. Is this a sign of
things to come with the contest looming? We'll watch and see!
Okay, my sweets, tiime to go. Seam has a local holiday upcoming, so I must prepare to
travel. We are a tourist town, but this season is different. It isn't tourist
arriving, but visitors with family ties to the area returning for the festival. I
plan on making myself scarce and retiring to a nice country villa to the south for the
next few weeks. I can practice my magic in relative peace. I will see each of you in
two weeks!
