Notes from the arena champ.
Duelmaster Column DM 20
Giddy-up! Look upon this dude, yep, it's me The Redneck coming at you once
again. This is getting too easy, my biceps are massive and people keep
learnin what they can do. I got the goods! People gotta know this. Last
turn The Landlord put me in front of Croaker, and damn if he didn't
pert-near croak. I had a couple of skanks oil up my biceps so I looked good
doing it, and geez I looked good. Old Croaker was watching the big left and
totally forgot about the even bigger right. I hit him so hard when he wakes
up his hair will be outta style. Course, he doesn't sport a mullet so it is
already outta style. Next turn I get to fight a monster, a real monster,
I'm so gonna kill that thing and save kids everywhere.
The Landlord wanted me to share my "measurements" whatever that means. Said
my strength is a 9, looking at my biceps I'm pretty sure I'm a perfect '10'
but he says a nine, close enuf I guess. My con is an 11, with all my
practice of conning people out of their stuff I thought it would be higher.
My size is 10, and if you check with the trailer trash skanks they will
confirm I am certainly that big. My wit is 21, turns out I am the smartest
guy at Robo Village, duh! Will is back to a 9, which seems low as I have a
great will to live and someday I will get a job even. My speed is 19 and
again if you check with my skanks, they will tell you how fast I am, if you
are picking up what I am putting down. My deftness is a 5, which is fine
because I don't even know what I do with that. I really like the maul, but
the Landlord would never buy me one, so I never got to use it. I also like
a low offensive effort as I don't like to burn too much energy, but then
again I like a high activity level, but only for some things. I'm checking
out of Seam with an adv expert initiative, expert riposte, adv expert attack
and adv master in decisiveness.
After this last fight I don't hafta fight anymore, I get to hang at the
trailer forever as the Landlord says I'm going nowhere with my favorites,
but jokes on him, my favorite is Mattress Mary across the yard and I'm going
there right now!
Seam's Duelmaster and all-around great guy, The Redneck
SPY REPORT
Welcome back to Seam, my dears! It is wonderful to see you on this TWO HUNDREDTH turn
for our fine arena. It is also the 2nd turn of the 99 Bottles Contest, which has the
arena full of life. So, welcome to the festivities and we hope you enjoy yourselves!
Now, let's take a look at all that happened on the sands, and maybe we will take a
glimpse at some off the sands events as well.
In some corners of Alastari, today is a festival day. I'm not sure what the festival
is exactly, I'm a bit hazy on the details. Apparently, some religious guy secretly
married people, got imprisoned, then clubbed to death. Now, people celebrate with
flowers and candy. I feel like something is missed in translation, but who am I to
judge? Anyway, our festival is the fight for the Duelmaster's throne, which is much
more practical and easier to understand. The
Redneck's final turn was today, and he chose to celebrate by challenging the Dark
Arena. It did not end well for him, but it also did not end him. Being immortal, The
Redneck was able to shake-off the bad dueling outcome!
We still need a Duelmaster, and the only way to get one now is through recognition
points. Hop OntheBus Gus challenged Doctor Lion and this became our crowning fight.
Gus won in a minute and was named our newest Duelmaster. Gus did not get an invite to
the Isle, so he has the opportunity to defend the throne next turn. Congrats to Gus,
who is managed by our very own contest coordinator, Alfredo.
It looks like 200 Proof is our most avoided gladiator stable today. They were mostly
avoided by Huckle's Cats. I Don't Mow seems to be super popular in the arena
currently because more gladiators wanted to fight him than anyone else. Dark
Inebriator made a massive up-challenge of 40 points to fight I Don't Mow. It was all
for naught as I Don't Mow won the fight. I'm sure a blade got jammed in the
undergrowth. It happens to the best of us!
There were a total of 10 deaths today. The majority of them, eight to be exact, came
via the Dark Arena. Of the few that came on the regular sands, one was a doozy! The
14-12-2 Amoxikillin randomly matched up with Cocaine Smile. It had all the trapping
of being a great match up, but it ended in tragedy when Cocaine Smile executed
Amoxikillin! Sometimes this sport is a hard one, especially when you have to invest
so much time and money into a warrior, only to watch him or her die on the sands!
Condolences to Neuroticus and his crew on their loss.
Time for me to go, my darlings. It has been a thrilling time, but I must be off to my
next engagement. A witch's time is rarely her own, you know. A party here, a spy
reporter assignment there, it is never ending! I do enjoy it though, so I believe I
will keep at it for a bit longer. I will see each of you next time when the arena
drums signal the start of the games!
