Notes from the arena champ.
Howdy DM 20. Local Girls Liz iz the shizz. Bio time for the non-locals.
Liz Danforth is a semi-famous graphic artist who has served her community for many
years now. Her credits include, among others, Flying Buffalo, Wizards of the Coast,
and many other projects.
As far as the arena goes, losing Suzie was a hard blow but at least her replacement is
capable. Eeryone else on the squad is doing OK; hope that continues.
As for the meta score, Warwick Davis netted his 3rd TV in a row, and glad I suggested
making it 199 bottles or this thing would be just about over.
Liz kinda backed into the DM spot, but she's good to go and ready to defend her crown.

SPY REPORT
The crowd is roaring, the vendors are shouting, and the blood appears to be flowing.
THE END IS NEAR! No, or yes, I really don't know. What I do know for sure is today is
arena day in Seam. Welcome back to the sands of Seam. We are a premier resort town,
the host to an arena contest, and one of only three no-tournament games in the land.
That makes us pretty exclusive! I know, I know, I don't need to sell the place to you
because you are already here. So, let's just get into today's action and see how it
all turned out.
Okay, let's start with the top warrior of our fair arena. Liz Danforth asserted
herself last turn and became our Duelmistress. She has had a nice, meteoric rise
through the arena rankings, so no one was surprised when Liz became our arena champ.
She didn't get an invite though, so a title defense was in order. Today's challenger
was Eternal Blossom. These ladies put on a great show, and at the end of the match,
Eternal Blossom is our newest Duelmaster! Congrats to Blossom, who is managed by
Master Darque.
Weirding Ways is the most avoided team, and Way of All Flesh avoided them the most.
The Lost Sentinel's warrior, Gumbo, was the most challenged warrior. Teepeetotaler
got his challenge through to Gumbo, but I doubt he was happy with the result. It took
5 minutes, but Gumbo was victorious. Sitting at 13-27-1, he will probably still be
popular on the challenge card for many turns to come.
We witnessed seven deaths today, and most of them happened outside of the Dark Arena.
For the Dark Arena fights, Hop OntheBus Gus was sent by Alfredo to test out his newly
appointed immortality. It worked, or at least I think it did, I just saw him packing
for the Isle. Weirding Ways sent Shakin' for Bacon the DA as well. I think many people
were shocked, no one more than Shakin' for Bacon. Outside of the Dark Arena, the most
shocking loss came when Britteny Griner put Mother-in-Law to death. The ladies of
Seam have been active this cycle. I love it!
Okay, time for me to go so each of you can enjoy the rest of the arena festivities.
The fights are over, but there are still many things to do after the gates close.
After-party celebrations, team parties, and relaxation. Lots and lots of relaxation!
I know which I am going to choose . . . you guessed it, relaxation. I will see each
of you next turn. Eternal Blossom leaves after the next turn's fights, so we will
need a new champion. Is Blossom going to challenge someone or go to the Dark Arena?

Alfredo -- Wow. I didn't know that going inactive incurred such a harsh penalty. In
fact, as I understand it, you can now avoid teams and remain in the contest, yet, if
you go inactive you're out even if you return? The warm-up phase was so boring to me
I fell asleep and napped for more than twelve turns. On T-199, I returned for the
meat and potatoes portion of this contest and have been abiding by the contest rules
ever since. I was beginning to wonder when you would wake up and take note of this.
As far as I'm concerned I'm still participating whether you choose to acknowledge me

Alfredo -- Before this gets confusing, I want to remain in the contest since you have
changed the no-avoid rule. As such, I avoided 2 turns for a deduction of 20 points.
I avoided two turns ago when I had a brain fog; I avoided the last turn when I thought
I had to withdraw from the contest. Hopefully, there will not be any more confusion

need. You have been assessed with a 10-bottle penalty as outlined in last turn's

And it appears Darque was not alone: it has also come to my attention that Mr. G made
the same error as Darque and forgot not to use avoids. He has been assessed with a 10-
bottle penalty as well. I am hoping that all the remaining managers agree that this is
fair and it does not cause any controversy. I think a 10-bottle penalty is severe
enough without having to resort to disqualification for what was after all an honest

So the kids and I were watching The Magician's Elephant (surprisingly good!) on
Netflix and, at the end, there were ads for other movies. One of these movies was
Chupa -- "Chupa" is short for "Chupacabra" and is the heart-warming story of a few
kids that find a baby chupacabra and learn to love the rascally goat-sucker and hide
him from bad guys, kind of like a retelling of ET except ET doesn't suck the blood
from goats. Now, besides being a good name for a warrior from Stranger Dangers
(remember them?) it is yet another role for my Gen X idol, Christian Slater! He's the
bad guy that tries to capture lil' Chupa! That made me look him up on IMDB and man,
Christian is going at it like Nicolas Cage! He's even in 6 things that haven't come
out yet -- who's excited about Pussy Island?! Can you imagine his agent pitching that
role? "Hey, Christian, how about this role in a movie called-" "Yes! I'll take it!
I don't care what it's called!" Where was I going with this? Oh, yeah, I went to
Minute Clinic today and I do NOT have strep throat but I still got some medicine
because I am coughing up a ton of phlegm in the mornings. I hope everyone has a great
