DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Wow, who'd a thunk that the first turn, post big ol contest, I'd be sitting on the
throne. Well tbh, I knew this would happen. Cleverly biding my time for awhile and
then when the time was right, I struck...or, let's be honest, didn't strike. I just
sat and waited... and waited... and waited, til my opponent and former drinking buddy
passed out. Hopefully I will see Furious again soon in ADM.
I'm gonna be a goofball, of course, and blood feud this turn, for no other reason than
it is funny. While it was sad to lose a comrade, said comrade only had a 3CN and we
were all shocked that they lived as long as they had. Still blown away it took HALF OZ
POUR 7 hits. Like, how little damage do you do? Is it negative? Because honestly a
small breeze almost killed SOOZ'R on numerous occasions.
Well hopefully I will have more to say next turn.
And oh yeah, congrats to Alf for winning the contest. He really put in the hard work
and time, each and every turn. I swear I actually saw him hold off from drinking for
almost 3 minutes one time to get his strategies in. We were all surprised a Slosher
made it that long without drinking. I personally almost called an ambulance, I was so
worried!

SPY REPORT
Hello, my darlings, here we are yet again in wonderful Seam to enjoy a most pleasant
day of gladiatorial action! The weather was nice, and the mood was somber at times but
never dampened the overall excitement of the arena. I particularly love how you can
experience a see-saw of emotion in just a few hours watching the gladiators battle.
Okay, enough reflection, let's see what happened today!
As always, let's start with the title fight. Teepeetotaler decided to flex his
muscles as our Duelmaster and issue a challenge to Cali Gold Rush. Looking at the
style match-up, it looked like a great strategy. Well, folks, this is why we have the
matches. Cali Gold Rush "viciously subdued" Teepeetotaler in a 3-minute fight. A
warrior's fighting style can help in many situations, but it is safe to never assume
an outcome until the dust has settled in the arena. Congrats to Cali Gold Rush, our
newest Duelmaster!
Constant Sorrow stands out as the team to avoid this week. They were mainly avoided
by 200 Proof, but they weren't the only ones who tucked tails and ran away from
Constant Sorrow's challenges. In a beautiful display of ambition and activity, former
Duelmaster, Teepeetotaler, is our most challenged warrior this week, receiving 5
challenges. We have already recapped how that one ended with Cali being crowned our
newest champ, so we won't revisit it.
We witnessed six fights end in death. Half of those deaths occurred in the Dark
Arena. The others were unplanned and may have been a bit painful for the managers.
Entering the day with a 15-15 record, What Month Is It's career ends just below the
.500% win mark. What Month Is It made the challenge, or at least his manager did. I
bet that is one he wished he could get back! In a small, one-point down challenge,
Micromanagement killed Tempest of Pixelbenders. Both warriors entered with very
respectable records, but it looks as if micromanagement trumps chaos for the time
being! The other non-DA death came when Sally Cat challenged Rat Fink and killed him.
Interestingly enough, all kills this turn came from challenge fights.

If you are new to Seam, I highly recommend you visit one of our local baths. We have
hot and cold springs that can alleviate about any ailment. They have been known to
fix a hangover or three too! I hope to see all of you next time. Oh, I almost forgot

Now that the excitement of the contest is over, I decided to go to the doctor. I have
this weird situation where I smell cigarette smoke when there is clearly no cigarette
smoke. Like, at home or at work. I don't smoke and I don't know anyone who does. I
work at a hospital where cigarette smoking isn't allowed. It's been going on for
several months. I can smell it as I'm writing this. Anyway, the doctor says
something to the effect of he has no idea but he read an article recently where some
people think they smell cigarettes when they are near people who have Alzheimer's. I
started laughing. Apparently I have been reduced to being a dog that can smell
diseases. Maybe I can also smell seizures before they happen. So I'm going to an
ear/nose/throat place next week, we'll see what they say. Maybe I'll end up joining a
traveling carnival, sniffin' out Alzheimer's and other diseases for 25 cents a sniff.
