SPY REPORT
The chill hanging in the air allows me to blow smoke rings in the press box. I always
hope the weather is merely a passing phase, but then it strikes me that I have a whole
winter season to endure! I hope this cold day finds each of you well. We have lots
of arena news to cover, so let's get started with today's happenings.
We have a new Duelmaster to celebrate. As most of you know, Brittney Griner took the
throne and was invited to the Isle last turn. She would have a final fight and title
defense in the same turn. Today was the day! We were going to have a new Duelmaster
whether she won or lost. Sam Lay decided he wanted to try for the throne the old-
fashioned way by challenging for it! It paid off as Sam put a beating on the
departing Brittney to take over the coveted Duelmaster's throne. Sam did not get an
invite, so he will get to defend his new-found glory in a few weeks. Congrats to No
Tournament Blues on their Duelmaster!
Huckle's Cats were the most avoided team this week. Is it because they shed over
everything? Cat hair is difficult to remove without magic. It looks like Rubber vs
Glue avoided those cats the most. I can only imagine how hard it would be to remove
cat hair when you throw glue into the mix! Yikes! William Buckwell IV is our most
challenged fighter. Boogerhead challenged down in recognition points to face WB IV.
The 1-9 Buckwell could not stand against the assault and fell to 1-10.
Death paid a single visit to Seam today. Ahringol's emissary came to meet Vora
Lioneye on the sands. Vora left at 15-12-0 and was put down by Tumble Belly in a
random match-up. The Fates are fickle, so we bid one warrior farewell, and we will
certainly welcome more next cycle. Brittney left us for grander things, but we did not
have any new invitations. Perhaps we will see the Challenger Champions begin to clear
out soon to make room for new names and faces!
Start a fire, grab a coat and cloak, and something warm to drink for the night is
going to get colder, my sweets. I will see each of you in two weeks. Sam Lay gets to
defend his title, and you get to enjoy all the gladiatorial battles leading up to that
moment! There is a tight race in the 3-turn standings too, so come back and see if
Local Girls can get back to the top and push Rubber vs Glue out of the lead. Until
