DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Hi everyone, Maularia wanted to phone in his column, but since phones haven't been
invented yet, he asked me to instead draft something using parchment paper and
Narcoleptic Guard's blood. I opted to use ink since Narco's walking cadaver had most
of his vital fluids pounded out of him after facing off against Maularia three turns
in a row. Did I say facing off? More like a face off--take a look at what he did to
Narc's disfigured mug, assuming there's something left to see other than gums and
bone. Heck, last turn they had to prop Narco up with sticks and rope. The match was
like watching a scarecrow being dismantled by a rhino on crack, but it was ribs
instead of hay that kept flying into the stands.
Since we've passed the 10 turn milestone, I felt it was time to look back at other
milestones. I know the enthusiasts on the sidelines love to debate trivia like who
was the best Duelmaster, so why not start there? On turn 2, The Stomping Grounds
established its first DM with Maularia. On turn 3, he returned to fight again. Let
me look at my notes--don't have anything on file for turn 4, but since he had a
column on turn 5 he obviously effortlessly held the spot again. On turn 6, the DM
was, well, Maularia. He then won two turns in a row--followed by two more in a row.
Now that you have an overview of the first group of DMs, debate among yourselves.
Next turn we will award whichever warrior has remained undefeated the longest, but
there will be a second place prize for those who think I might be padding things for
my master's team.

SPY REPORT
Good day, friends and fiends, welcome to your friendly neighborhood spyreport.
I doubt THE STOMPING GROUNDS will ever be the same. The DUNGEON CELL BA guild has
had a 4-1-0 turn and deserves to be watched in the future. You never know where this
kind of thing can lead. And let's see, TEACUP THUMPER fought HEAD TRAUMA and gained
16 points and contributed to MAUL MASHING ORCS' 4-0-1. THUD has lost to TROLLDOZER,
falling 3 points, while helping make NUMBSKULLS a 1-4-0 turn. Defending its title
for another turn, MAULARIA kept DUNGEON CELL BA's warrior, NARCOLEPTIC GUARD, from
claiming the throne. Can someone confirm a rumor for me? I hear the top team makes
their losing fighters do dishes at The Final Rest until they win. Maybe?
The crowd's roar, the smell of iron and leather, mixed with sweat, what more
could a warrior ask of life? Well, besides that. DUNGEON CELL BA has cause to stand
tall, as they were THE STOMPING GROUNDS' most avoided team. A smart manager knows
this is a team to beat. And guess who avoided DUNGEON CELL BA stable the most?
Believe it or not, it was MAUL RATS. Anyone surprised?
A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man only once. Wise men know this to
be true. Had I not seen it, it would be hard to believe. MAUL RAT was sent to the
Dark Arena and lived to tell about it! Makes you think, no? A brave warrior does
not carry a red shield, he has nothing to cover or hide when the fight is over.
Consider well.
Remember, blood on the purple robe does not change it from a purple robe. Dare
to fight bravely. Always good to rest in THE STOMPING GROUNDS, but never good to
wear out my welcome. Look for me in future turns. Until the sun next rises and my
