TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Well met once again, Sunset! Quicksilver here with a rundown on the MOTS
(Manager on the Sands) competition taking place here in the Jewel of the Delarquan
federation!
Looks like Papaiz lost his lead with a loss from a challenger but remains in hot
pursuit, while Dreihdenflahg continues to ride his bloodfeud opportunity to an
undefeated record. JE takes a hit on a Yakuza challenge, while Sylvester F. takes
out a veteran scum and takes the lead, showing some good endurance, wonder what style
he is....
Mordraith gets put in his place by his bloodfeuders, but methinks one loss is
all the medicine he'll have to take from that one, lucky him. Sensei Jan and the Mr.
twins, that is Mojo and Twister, along with Young Blood, also all scored wins, while
Stik sat out and Sly was disqualified for not declaring his intentions in the
personals. Is it that tough? Apparently so....
Rumor has it we may see a late entry this turn as well! Anyway, here are the

Notes from the arena champ.
Sunset,
All hail Biff! You once again have a champion to be proud of. No more second rate
Fandango puds polluting this throne. I am going to challenge Potomacc and see if his
plate and shield can stand up to me. It is doubtful, but stranger things have
happened (i.e.: Storm Warning having a 12-2 warrior).
Speaking of the bottom feeders over at Storm Warning stable, does the manager of that
sorry team not have the intelligence to use the dark arena to rid himself of a 10-11
scum? Not surprising considering some of the "power" styles that he hangs onto.
I would love to be able to challenge and kill some Yakuza scum, but they are
absolutely unable to get out of the adepts class. Big shocker there considering the
poor management that team has.
The bugs over at Book of Stink just like to hover around the champions class without
ever winning the throne. Probably because they suck and know they could never take
it.
Since we're talking about things that suck, naturally the next thing that pops to
mind in the teams of I Magi and Dreih's Tribe. I Magi used to be a good team when
they had a manager but now they got Street Legal.... At least Dreihdenflagh has the
courage to participate in the MotS contest.... Wonder why Guardian hasn't put this
contest away yet?
While I'm on the subject of the MotS contest, Quicksilver, you misrepresented my
boss's record. You left off the kill he has, you worthless tequila worm.
What's with Papaiz? I hear through the grapevine that he has already dropped out of
this contest?! What a wuss. I remember a few years back when this rocket scientist
had the Lyratilan Rumble won, but then decided to DA his entire team and drop out on
the last turn. But Papaiz does ride the short wagon to the arena....
I heard the other day that Real Beer came up with That!'s name when Crip was standing
at a urinal? Go figure.
Did I miss it when I dosed off or did Sword Opera not spout off this turn that they
don't avoid or challenge, but they might? Yawn. Can you imagine how tough that team
would be if they were actively managed? Almost as tough as strawberry shortcake I'd
imagine.
Did I really see some nobody calling himself Sluggo post an ad last turn that this
arena is too tough for him and he may leave. Don't may leave, get out! Sunset
hasn't the stomach for cowards like you. (All right we do make exceptions for a few
teams, but yours isn't one of them.)

SPY REPORT
It's me, The Unknown Spymaster, back to give you this week's Spy Report. Sit
back in your seats and we'll have more fun than a barrel of Zontanis. Say good-bye
to DREIH'S TRIBE, as they are pushed from the coveted top team spot by the YAKUZA
stable. Take a look at STORM WARNING's act, as they have a 3-2-0 week and gain 12
places in the team ranking. Rising in the ranks like a loaf of armored bread (okay,
I admit it's corny) is SPORTS, who swept up 11 places in the ranks. Take a look at
KILL AT WILL's act, as they have a 2-2-1 week and gain 12 places in the team ranking.
A seasoned team is steady in the lists. But to MEOW MIX, which fell to 27th, it's
what you soak in before going to the Dark Arena. YAKUZA is no joke as it posted a
3-1-0 week advancing from 2nd place to 1st place. Hey everybody, watch out for THE
ANGEL, who flew up 25 points in the rankings after mashing STINKACOST like a melon.
Keep your eye on this guy. Ya know, some days it doesn't pay to walk out on the
sands. BAUMGARTEN was defeated by HURRICANE and drops 15 points. Drawing on all of
its experience as a 16-9-1 warrior, STINKALOGICAL went for the Duelmastership against
CLAW this week. It's a proud day for the BOOK OF STINK stable, as their warrior,
STINKALOGICAL, ascended the Duelmaster's throne. An apple a day keeps the doctor
away, but an onion a day keeps T.P.s at bay.
But enough of that bunch, let's get on to the wimps who like to avoid battle!
And hey, kiddies, those of you who didn't avoid BLACKEST PRIDE, please raise you
hand. Wow. Does SUNSET really have that many liars? For those of you who like
math, try this one: BLACKEST PRIDE + Weapons That go Boom = REAL BEER + Avoid City.
And who is this POTOMACC you ask, with 127 points and a 14-4-0 record. Ooh, the
tales I could tell! POTOMACC of GRIM FANDANGO had better have a good reason for
challenging down 13 points in a TV challenge which he won. I thought POTOMACC showed
great skill and promise when he subdued JADE. All right, so I slept through it! Big
deal!
Remember that an arena is not always a safe place to be, but it is one of the
most interesting, though! Big deal, so SICKLE got mashed in the Dark Arena. With
his face he was more at home with the trolls than with us. (Waka waka). TYRELA
defied all odds and slew SHEWISH GIANT in the Dark Arena. The only ones displeased
were the buzzards, as SHEWISH GIANT's meat is notoriously tough. For those of you
who missed it, Death showed up, grabbed STINKACOST by the ear and took it away to a
place where it won't need a coat. Yes, and another newbie bites the dust as
SKASMONAUT goes down under the sword of GRAVITY THIEF. Thanks to this, GRAVITY THIEF
now has 33 recognition points. Congrats to MORDRAITH for revenging the death of its
teammate (but more importantly, feeding SI-SHREE a bit of dirt). Knowing when to use
the right tactics at the proper time is a very important step on the road to
Duelmaster.
Well, there's the manager of the SUNSET giving me the 'cut' sign (or is that
'They're going to strangle you in the alley?). Okay, so I may not be the world's
best comedian, but then you guys aren't the world's best warriors. Its been real,

Citizens of Ghea (only the ignorant fail to note Lirith Kai is not in Alastari),
no new day is rising, but the sun is setting on just another beautiful evening.
While you were sleeping, an irksome rabble has entered the always fair Aruak City.
Of course they fought alongside our warriors, most not so treasured, as all
gladiators do. They drank with themselves, and slept with themselves. Whether they
had masks, who cares.
Warriors, don't be afraid. For years Aruak has been one of the safest cities in
Ghea, and that custom has been continually cultivated, and will continue to be by
those who have called it home for years and those who live, fight, and die by the
same ethics. There is no contest, nor has there ever needed to be one for many
years. A conflict of personalities has arisen, and the city has been 'invaded' by
pests.
Any rules that are annouced will be purely for the joy of the lemmings' own
little world. Those who are being targeted have no interest in participating except
to defend the integrity of an arena that is different from others. Whether you
choose to come to Aruak, do it for your own reasons, not theirs.
Competing in Aruak City has never been for the faint of heart or the weak willed.
Combat is combat, wherever you go. Blood will flow as always, and now many innocents
will be caught in the middle, but those who defend Aruak's traditions never target
those who bring respect of Aruaki customs with them to our home.
So ignore the private ranting announcement brought by the stuporous
Frothingsloshers. If you choose Aruak City, do not choose it for an unsanctioned and
bogus 'contest', choose it for the tradition. Choose it because Aruak is different.

An Announcement Concerning the Brotherhood of the Blade Alliance:
I have chosen to withdraw my membership from the Brotherhood of the Blade
alliance. The years I have spent in the alliance have been the best of my DM career.
I leave the alliance with many great friends and will always remain close to my
former brethren.
The Brotherhood of the Blade will not skip a beat without my membership. It
remains in very capable hands and its roster is among the strongest in the game.
