Notes from the arena champ.
Surprise, surprise, here I am looking down on all of you! Honestly didn't think
I'd still be in the challenger champs after the smoke cleared last cycle, much less
the Duelmaster! But I'll take the throne any way I can get it. Calpurnia, that
should knock you down a peg or two, young pup. Getting a little big for our
britches, I think. Come back in a few turns when you're all grown up, all right?
Since Crip's guys are all taking a breather, looks like I've got a date with
"Big D." For some reason, this guy of Nick's has got the goods on us to this point.
He's beaten me a couple times already, and I'd rather not sit up here if I can't even
claim to be the best waste in the arena, much less the best overall warrior! So I'll
try a little something different than my usual strat, we'll see if it works out.

SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of SUNSET! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes,
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. There were bitter words at W.H.E.T.T.'s
guildhouse after a 0-0-0 showing this week which dropped the stable into 18th. Dark
Arena anyone? Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner! Witness
how this week D.R.I. went 3-2-0 to move up 4 in the rankings. My praise to LAKOTA
for their 4-1-0 week this time out. Indeed, it was a skillfully fought round
deserving of notice! WEST WIND caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission
as she skillfully bested BONEDUST and was awarded 21 points in recognition. In one
of the week's more notable duels, WEST WIND put down BONEDUST, causing him to lose 18
points of recognition in the process. Although RAJEREK made a valiant effort, it did
not suffice to topple the reign of victorious TUSK. Informants "close" to the city
champion have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor.
Watch out!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city SUNSET. I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when this week's
challenge seeking began. GRIM FANDANGO is feared. This much I can say. If you
didn't look down dark alleys you'd have been hard pressed to find any of BLACKEST
PRIDE last week. Busy avoiding GRIM FANDANGO? Mighty fighters cannot but expect
competition from those below. NEVER take warning! You have more than a few enemies
in SUNSET. Give MAST MONKEY credit for his courage. Did you note how he challenged
DJININSKI despite the 34 point difference in their rankings? The SEA DOGS stable
will be up late tonight, for indeed it was MAST MONKEY who claimed victory in the
contest, ascending 20 in recognition! At the gambling halls I have started to bet
money on SCYTHE. He has got the courage it takes. Witness his challenge this turn
against ADDUCTOR MAGNUS! 4 points of newly earned recognition and a dose of my
admiration is what SCYTHE must now weigh against the defeat which resulted.
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! This week marked the last days of LILLIAN LUST who
at 12-21-3 was dispatched to the Dark Arena by the command of SONS OF SATAN's
demanding management. Look no more for SUPPURATING CORPSE in the arena or on the
streets of SUNSET. Hers fate was sealed in the Dark Arena. Inevitable for one at
10-9-0. Some say a warrior is judged by the way he bears arms. One thing is sure,
better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!
The girls are as pretty in SUNSET as ever I remembered them....and the fighters
as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! Sadly warriors, now longer can I keep thy

The 2006 Mordanti Alliance Olympics are off to a grand start! With seventeen teams
declared, running under eight different flags (not to mention six additional non-
Olympic teams present), it is looking to be as tough as any previous Olympiad, if not
more! Olympians petitioned the Commission to make an allowance for late entries, and
the Commission agreed, and will allow new entrants to partake, as long as they are
active by Round 3 (T546, due May 29th). So if you wish to enter, please email your
intentions to amicitia@gwi.net with team name, manager name, and affiliation
(alliance name or independent), or show up in Mordant (DM-1) on, or before, May 29th
and place your declarations in the newsletter!
