Notes from the arena champ.
Who was that, Crow Bar?! A little more competitive than I'm comfortable with. But
damn the winning percentage in the battle report, we all know why strikers lead the
most popular fighters list. I didn't realize the DM could skip a standing and
randomly match-up 2 categories below. My ignorance, my bad. Hopefully Mushiko Bo's
not in a cowering beneath a tortoise shell avoid type mood. Otherwise, I'm [bleeped]
if Flaming Flamingo overrides my avoid.
But that's no matter at the moment. The true measure of a duelmaster is how well he
degrades his opponents. Volleyball, umm....popped?, dunked?, no, let's try that
again...spiked?, how lame's that...how about Crow Bar...couldn't quite wedge enough,
well, no, that's not quite right either...perhaps my superior wit will rain down
upon the unsuspecting Shaman...who will weave spells of pagan, umm, medicine,
stuff...well maybe not that so much either...but like it or not, I still remain....

Welcome SUNSET. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights have
I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... Woof! LIGHT BRIGADE were a
bunch of dogs after LITERATE LOONS got through with 'em! 4th ain't so sweet as 1st!
Hmmmph! I always thought SPORTS was an over-rated team and they proved it with a
0-0-0! Ya gotta be quick on yer feet! Keep your elbow off the table! Thrust!
Block out the pain! FIRESTORM is now ranked 6th with a 4-1-0 turn. Welcome to
SUNSET, PESTILENCE! We need more teams who can get a 3-1-0 their first time out!
What's with AZRAEL? He actually beat NASTY MOB's JOE STALIN, and walked away with 21
more points from the fight. Major screwup at GRIM FANDANGO. MONTRIEUX lost 8 points
to DRAGUT. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe MONTRIEUX will provide more easy
wins... Another fighter (FLAMING FLAMINGO 18-12-0) challenged another Duelmaster
(HART CRANE 14-15-2). Life goes on. I'm sure SUNSET is excited about FLAMING
FLAMINGO, the new Duelmaster from DOC LEGRAND'S AVIANS. (remember?) But when you've
seen as many as I have... Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects to practice on?
I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners.
No matter the time or place, men will always duel. The most avoided team was
GRIM FANDANGO. The bums at NOMADIC TRIBE couldn't face the challenges from GRIM
FANDANGO! No excuse for that! How well I know the feeling of being the most
challenged warrior, GRAVEYARD TAN! Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to
haunt you. GENNY GALLOWS of FIRESTORM knows how to pick 'em. He challenged ZIGGY
WOLFSBANE of NOMADIC TRIBE who is up by 25. Now was this a wise move? GENNY GALLOWS
perhaps got his just desserts, seeing as he was overcame by ZIGGY WOLFSBANE and ended
up with 4 recognition points. I hate going to the effort of writing about the kind
of fights that GRAVEYARD TAN gets in. He fights people like ELITE GUARD, 14 points
below. I thought GRAVEYARD TAN showed great skill and promise when he defeated ELITE
GUARD. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters
don't accept this. The best do. Some people are wondering why NASTY MOB sent ATTILA
(2-0-0) to the Dark Arena. Just be glad you're not on their team. Here's some
advice: study your opponent, master many skills, fight dirty.
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.

don't know why I'm so misunderstood...perhaps it's the tone...like a drunk trying to
hit the high notes at karaoke...or the pitch...I admit my point of view wobbles from
happy to be here to outright hostility...or simply my appearance, all closed
societies object to outsiders. But my stance on Assur should be beyond reproach! He
watches from a distance, shows up when he's guaranteed victory. As Stik so
pathetically stated about Assur, 'I'd like him to...run in Sunset more often', as if
that justified Stik bending over backwards in order to let the world pass over his
head! Well I'd like the President (of Alastari, of course) to be a humanitarian, not
gonna happen. So your method of operation is to (embarrassingly) plead, state, how
much you want him back. I' d rather insult, anger, piss-off, which would give an
actual reason to keep fighting; besides the given of him being a symbol of you twos'

The Council of Lords would like to propose a rule change in ADM and Primus. We
propose that Lord Protectors ranked "Grand Champions" and below (ADM) and "The Tower
Guard" and below (Primus) be allowed to fight in the Dark Arena. This would not
impact the top rankings or title match. Any managers who never got his fill or shot
at fighting Gateway monsters would have it as an option. We believe it might spark
some interest in the ADM/Primus realm for some managers. If interested, speak up in
the newsletters or on forums under the "rules changes" thread and let RSI know. This
could even be something to try for 12 months and then be re-evaluated. What say you,
managers of Ghea? -- The Icelord sends....

HDFA Mission Statement
"Show me the money!"
This is the battle cry of a newly formed collection of like-minded individuals:
The High Dolla' Free Agent$. We are not a tough guy alliance: No...we offer no
battle without reward. We search for victory and the prizes and accolades that
follow. We are motivated by winning and will freely use whatever means necessary to
obtain our currency. No stuffy rules, no mandates, no constitutions, no leaders,
only a few objectives:
1) Win as often as possible
2) Celebrate freely and revel in your victories; the more meaningless the
victory the more we celebrate. Highsiding and chest thumping are encouraged.
Ostentatious endzone celebrations with prop usage are encouraged, regardless of
fines, penalties, suspensions or arrest by local authorities. It is important to let
your opponent know how great you are; more importantly, you must let your own
alliance mates know how great you are.
This is a 1-up alliance, let the performance of your fellow Free Agent$ motivate
you. If a Free Agent wins a TV, win 2; if a Free agent wins a contest, win a more
prestigious one.
