Notes from the arena champ.
Look at that! First turn back in this arena and little ole me is sitting atop this
throne. Is that a sign of what this arena has become? Have you other warriors sunk
so low that you allow a member of the rodent family to attain the most exalted seat
in the Delarquian Federation? Oh well, I'll enjoy it while it lasts. Just a little
info: "The name hamster is derived from the German verb hamstern, which means "to
hoard" because hamsters have expandable cheek pouches lined with fur to store their
food." Now you know, snd knowing is half the battle.

SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of SUNSET! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes,
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team GRIM FANDANGO was unseated
this week as RAGING LORDS moved up from 4th ranking to take the top spot with a 3-2-0
record for the round. There were bitter words at DEATH MOB 4's guildhouse after a
2-3-1 showing this week which dropped the stable into 12th. Dark Arena anyone?
Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner! Witness how this week
D.R.I. went 4-1-0 to move up 9 in the rankings. Did only my eyes note the 4-1-0
record which THE RED BLADES managed to post this round? I don't doubt that such a
record will draw challengers! SCIPIO SUNSETUS caught the eye of many in the
gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested ROSE LAMONT and was awarded 24 points
in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, RAGING BULL put down
ANOTHER BAD BASHER, causing it to lose 20 points of recognition in the process. Who
here was not present for the title fight this week as ROLISTON boldly challenged
CROUCHING HAMSTER in order to strive for the Duelmasters honors? Although ROLISTON
made a valiant effort, it did not suffice to topple the reign of victorious CROUCHING
HAMSTER. Informants "close" to the city champion have told me that he never fights
without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out!
Many and various are the arts of battle. In SUNSET "art" is a word that has
long since passed from the language! I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when
this week's challenge seeking began. GRIM FANDANGO is feared. This much I can say.
Apparently the stalwarts of NOMADIC TRIBE are catching the bulk of jests down at the
challenging board for their large share of the avoids. Mighty fighters cannot but
expect competition from those below. PLAIN JAIN take warning! You have more than a
few enemies in SUNSET. As a gladiator gets older, the icy grip of fear lays hold of
his heart. True, CRAZYLEGS? Who could miss your "brave" challenge of JONISSON? All
the city knows the duel went in favor of CRAZYLEGS. I shall not fail to spread the
word in other cities of this "mighty" victory.
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! The warrior's path is harsh. For mediocrity there
is but one reward--death. This past week ROSE LAMONT, at 14-14-1, departed SUNSET
forever. My condolences to THE RED BLADES for their loss of a very promising
warrior, BREEZE SUMMERS. BREEZE SUMMERS went to doom before the arms of SON OF SOL,
a warrior of CELESTIAL WRATH. Walk proud, warriors of THE RED BLADES! By striking
down MICKEY O'RION you have avenged the honor of your dead. Your virtue is known to
all in SUNSET. Dark alleys may hide both secrets and assassins. In the arena there
is only the brightness of steel. Keep vigil always!
If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times
already in SUNSET. Nice atmosphere you have here! Ahh, but I can hear the spires of
a far off city calling to me. I must away! Till next we meet remember: a fool
flies into a rage quickly and often. The wise are angered by the same thing only
