DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Yikes!! I step into the arena to face one of the deadliest killers ever!!! The
crowd is roaring and the noise is deafening. We advance on each other and my
opponent lunges!!! I jump to the side, strike, and he falls to the sands!!! I ready
myself for this contest, but now its over!!! Who's this warrior managed by, some
retard?? Where's the fight at?? The angry crowd starts hurling rotten fruit at me
like I deprived them from a great fight!!! Was it my fault!!! Ikillu expected none
less, but I'm here to fight, is there any to oppose me?? Is there any competition
anywhere here?? I am told that I will be put into retirement until a worthy opponent
emerges. I want to fight, not retire. After this turn I will become a beacon as to
what other warriors should be. Not just a loudmouth braggert to impress only my
trainer. If only others could follow my example. Then I would be hit by less rotten
fruit.

SPY REPORT
It's me, The Unknown Spymaster, back to give you this week's Spy Report. Sit
back in your seats and we'll have more fun than a barrel of Zontanis. For every
winner there is a loser. Speaking of losers, lets take a look at GREDAN, who went
down to 6th from 11th. Life is tough. Coming up with a solid 3-1-0 outing, SWORD
OPERA has advanced 7 places in the rankings. It looks like the guys(?) at D.R.I. had
a good week as they went 4-1-0 to put them in 8th place. I guess steroids help! Hey
everybody, watch out for FATHOM JUMPER, who flew up 25 points in the rankings after
mashing CHEKHOV like a melon. Keep your eye on this guy. Ya know, some days it
doesn't pay to walk out on the sands. SILVER SMURFER was subdued by LORD NOTSONICE
and drops 16 points. SCIPIO SUNSETUS got through to the Duelmaster this turn. No
doubt he was more than anxious to kick BONEFACE's tail out of the throne! Our
battling duelmaster BONEFACE has managed to hold the title, fending off SCIPIO
SUNSETUS' none too subtle advances. Better luck next time, NOMADIC TRIBE. 4 out of
5 gladiators surveyed protect the body, so try and avoid aiming at that location.
Let's dig a little deeper into what's happening in the SUNSET arena. Here's a

la! And you guys like to boo me? Well, unsling your rasberries, cause GRIM FANDANGO
beats feet every time NOMADIC TRIBE smiles at them. Try farming, eh? And who is
this KING TOOTNPOOTN you ask, with 64 points and a 9-6-1 record. Ooh, the tales I
could tell! Challenging down 24 points was RAGING BULL. Pretty soon he'll be using
two shields and selling 'T.P.: The only way to clean up' pins. Definition of petty:
RAGING BULL subdued PAIN, a mismatch of 24 points. In a touching display by a
'touched' warrior, GRANDADDY SMURF went after BATTLECRY, who was higher by 25 points.
Well, when the dust settled, GRANDADDY SMURF beat BATTLECRY.
Being a spy is great--other people die and you spend the rest of the day
drinking to their memory. Better tanked than dead! LEVI POOLE says to his dog--'Who
should I fight this week?'. Dog says 'ARENAMASTER HARTH'. So the guy dies. Moral?
Put lying dogs to sleep. Big deal, so UNCLE SLAM got mashed in the Dark Arena. With
his face he was more at home with the trolls than with us. (Waka waka). It's not
often when you see a 10-4-2 warrior like CHEKHOV kick the bucket. I wonder if
LITERATE LOONS will recover from the blow. And who needs the Dark Arena if you've
got FATHOM JUMPER around? This week he decorated his armor with CHEKHOV. Who's
next? Knowing when to use the right tactics at the proper time is a very important
step on the road to Duelmaster.
Well, that wasn't too bad; Alarond told me that the people in SUNSET have no
sense of humor. Or maybe that they were senseless. Well, there goes another Spy
Report. Good luck in next week's fights. And remember, you can pick your friends

Alamar, Gladiatorial Lands Commission -- I think your title says it all, there should
be lands. We were promised lands. Not in Lirith Kai. (Who wants to go there
anyway?) Not in a time share. (I can share time in the guildhall if need be, but
Lord Protectors are supposed to have status.) You even admit that the commission
said "lands."
Well, we want our lands. Somebody promised them. Are you suggesting that all
of us that are highly skilled with sharp and pointy things were lied to? I can think
of a lot of Lord Protectors (and potential future Lord Protectors) who would be very
upset by such a situation. We have developed some rather useful skills for
protecting our interests.
Perhaps it is something you should bring to the commission's attention and

An organizational meeting will be held at the Broken Bone Tavern after the Turn
622 fights to discuss the formation of a Gladiators Union, Gladiators Local #21. All

arenas. When you email in something, check and make sure you have the correct
arena number! It's easy for a finger to slip onto the wrong key. When the
