Notes from the arena champ.
Assur is going to take up most of this column so I'll just say how happy I am to gain
immortality and land! I look forward to my retirement, no longer risking my neck for
the amusement of the crowd. As is our tradition, I leave you with a quote from the
sports world:

At 150 skills, easily my highest skilled grad (except 2 sandbaggers). He'll be the
4th basher I retire that is +7 or +8 in att & def.
He'll be my last low size basher, ever. I've graduated a size 3 and now three size 6
bashers. They just aren't what I'm looking for, though they can be successful. Of
the four, the only tourney worth remembering is a 6-3 Adepts by a mediocre sponge.
I hope to be back in Sunset at a later date, either with VB's replacement or another
team.

Good day, friends and fiends, welcome to your friendly neighborhood spyreport.
I doubt SUNSET will ever be the same. Now keep the taverns open late tonight, for
there are sorrows to drown for THE RED BLADES, whose 2-3-0 this turn dropped them by
4 into 6th. NOMADIC TRIBE stable has parlayed this turn's 4-1-0 into a 4 space move
up the rankings. This brings them up to 2nd place. Good work, guys! The GRIM
FANDANGO guild has had a 4-1-1 turn and deserves to be watched in the future. You
never know where this kind of thing can lead. And let's see, REZUREKT fought PILLOW
and gained 27 points and contributed to GRIM FANDANGO's 4-1-1. DISEASE has lost to
LENI POOLE, falling 17 points, while helping make DARK AT HEART a 1-4-0 turn. This
week's Duelmaster bout was between BATTLECRY and our Duelmaster VOLLEYBALL, making a
challenge. The attempts to dethrone the Duelmaster have failed, and VOLLEYBALL
remains SUNSET's top warrior for another turn. Tell me, is nothing sacred? I have
heard from unimpeachable sources that Baba Yaga's Bar and Grill uses trolls in their
stew. Talk about gristle!
He who challenges well, fights well. He who avoids without cause, shall lose
for good reasons. My mama told me that one. GRIM FANDANGO has cause to stand tall,
as they were SUNSET's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team to
beat. And avoiding GRIM FANDANGO more than any other team we find NOMADIC TRIBE.
SUNSET, are we going to accept, or respect this sort of thing? Well, sports fans,
take notice that BATTLECRY from NOMADIC TRIBE was SUNSET's most challenged warrior
this turn. Building dreams on hope, TERRA SIGILLATA challenged up 28 points this
turn to take on BLAKSUNN from GRIM FANDANGO stable. Well, TERRA SIGILLATA was
overcame by BLAKSUNN, but TERRA SIGILLATA gained 6 in recognition for hers efforts.
Thank goodness for small favors. In a fit of brilliance or of stupidity (hard to say
sometimes), PYNCHON challenged SIDEWINDER today, facing a 26 difference in
recognition. And though PYNCHON lost to SIDEWINDER, the valiant attempt earned him 3
worth of recognition. Foolhardiness can sometimes pay. WALLACE of GRIM FANDANGO had
better have a good reason for challenging down 12 points in a challenge which he won.
I thought WALLACE showed great skill and promise when he defeated ICE. All right, so
I slept through it! Big deal!
We only live a short time in this world, so why not take a sharp blade, and
shave it close? You gotta do what you gotta do. BEN'S BAZAAR has sent KING
TOOTNPOOTN to the Dark Arena. The deed is done. Lift the ale, and toast the memory.
I guess it was coming sooner or later, OMINOUS REIGN has lost PILLOW, and SUNSET is
bound to miss her. For a little while, at least. I wish to point out for GREDAN
that there is but a single turn before SERPENTS HOLD and their warrior, SIDEWINDER,
will get away with killing FELTHOS. We'd like to remind certain teams not to rob the
graves of their enemies. You know who you are; and it's considered rude.
Remember, blood on the purple robe does not change it from a purple robe. Dare
to fight bravely. Well, I'm burning daylight here in SUNSET and I've a long road
