DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Sunset managers, warriors, locals and guests from afar, welcome to the
celebration in honor of Silver Smurfer, your Duelmaster and most recent Lord
Protector. It has been a good run for Silver with him winning his last 8 fights with
Fly Fisher being his last loss. I am very proud of his success. Silver Smurfer was
a test design using a low WL and high WT/DF. With his mediocre SP of 12 he was
suprisingly fast. His numbers are as follows:

For his last challenges he will be going after Mersilus as he is the top
contender and he is using Leni Poole and his second challenge seeing as he is the top
striker and I want to know who is really top since our last fight Silver Smurfer went
no weapon so I want to see how things stack up when Silver is armed with the BS.
Silver Smurfers FAVS are: BS HIGH/MOD with and innate ability to use the BASH
tactic (not sure what to think of this) and he learns ATTACK skills more easily than
is normal.
Silver Smurfer will be going to ADM 100 at least until they decide whether or
not to open up a not-tourney ADM Arena in which case he will be switching to that
arena.
I look forward to getting his replacement and the replacement for the worthless
piece of crap I got for the dealer. Hopefully Grandaddy will be graduating soon (in
that I mean that he wins and gets into the CC).
The out going DM and Lord Protector didn't stand much of a chance' his APL
didn't stop Silver Smurfer's Great DMG from almost tearing his arm off. With the ADV
EXP ATT and the 17 DF and the ability to get the jump on the poor AB the fight was
over before it started. I hope that Mersilus or Leni Poole at least give him a
better fight. I am using his FAV weapon but not his FAV numbers, I want to make sure
that he gets the jump. I will test the FAV numbers in ADM, I say why ruin a good
thing and not get the jump and end up getting beat my the next opponent.
It will be a while before I get another duelmaster here in Sunset. Silver
Smurfer is my 3rd duelmaster since my return about 2 years ago. My next one might be
Virile Man or it might be Ctuchik (Silver Smurfer's smarter / slower clone) from
Shadowspire, either way it is going to be a while. I have greatly enjoyed this arena
and I hope that you newbies to Sunset stick around. Hopefully One-Armed-Bandit gets
his butt back here soon; I have a few loses to my team to avenge. Kano Clan I am so
happy that you showed back up and I know that the rest of the Sunset is pleased also.

SPY REPORT
Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly SUNSET games. Fortune did not smile upon THE RED
BLADES this time out who this turn suffered a fall into 16th position in the wake of
a 1-4-0 round. Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner!
Witness how this week DEVIATION went 4-1-2 to move up 7 in the rankings. My praise
to KANO CLAN for their 3-0-0 week this time out. Indeed, it was a skillfully fought
round deserving of notice! CHOCOLATE THUNDER caught the eye of many in the
gladiatorial commission as it skillfully bested SHATAAS and was awarded 19 points in
recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, REZUREKT put down BORGES,
causing him to lose 15 points of recognition in the process. Unwilling to wait upon
the will of others, Duelmaster SILVER SMURFER challenged MERSILUS last week in a
match to decide the fate of the throne. This time victory fell to the grasp of the
usurper. All hail MERSILUS, Duelmaster of SUNSET! Would you believe that over half
of the old women in SUNSET seem to feel that they could fight better than you
gladiators?
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city SUNSET. My inside sources tell me that the team to beat in SUNSET these
days is GRIM FANDANGO. At least, most blades in town are looking to avoid them.
Apparently the stalwarts of NOMADIC TRIBE are catching the bulk of jests down at the
challenging board for their large share of the avoids. Mighty fighters cannot but
expect competition from those below. WALLI WEEBLE take warning! You have more than
a few enemies in SUNSET. A match that raised a few eyebrows at the games this week,
it seems that GRANDADDY SMURF posted a challenge against the more highly recognized
SIDEWINDER. The results, you ask? Well, the firebrand GRANDADDY SMURF was beat by
SIDEWINDER. Remember warriors, this is the discipline of steel.
What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his
foe's mortality? I must report the passing of LENI POOLE, veteran of many duels.
10-7-0 final record Hers was not illustrious--but death plays no favorites. My
hearty congratulations DARKNESS, for thy revenge upon PIKRITORI, slayer of thy fallen
comrade. Next time he will know better, eh? Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers
the miserable with fortune but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember this!
A thought before I go. Each warrior practices one style, but must not the wise
manager learn the secrets of them all? Sadly warriors, now longer can I keep thy
