Notes from the arena champ.
I know the real question on everyone's mind, and the answer is "no"... I don't
sell car insurance. I've been in DEEP hibernation for a long time, way before
cavemen and lizards were used to hawk liability coverage.
Also: are we warriors of Reptile Rampage actually anthropomorphic sword-swinging
reptiles? Like some sort of Lizard Man? That would be cool, but again, no.
Perhaps in another life. Unfortunately, we're just a bunch of dwarves with colorful
stage names.
But credit must be given to Doc LeGrand, a old manager many of you know/knew
personally (though I did not). Back in the day, DLG had one of his animal-themed
teams in Bonsur/7, Obregon's "home arena." The reptiles on that team continuously
thrashed Obregon's warriors. One in particular was a vicious killer slasher,
Speckled Gecko. Every bladed weapon he touched was an instrument of bloody death.
Sadly, Speckled Gecko was killed in the arena, but Obregon was so scarred and
impressed that he suggested I use the stage name Gecko as an homage.
So here I am. Back in the day I was a Tournament Victor or close to it... the
haze of time in hibernation has clouded my memories. So in case you're wondering,
yes, there is some hidden FE....
At any rate, I'm going to hang onto the title as long as I can and try to avoid
my namesake's fate. I'm sure that Fritter and I will be meeting at some point in the
near future, and the commission better have a hose ready to spray down the arena
after we're done....

SPY REPORT
If you were disturbed from your beauty rest only to have to watch a bunch of
SUNSET brutes like you, you'd be grouchy, too. Later days, DEVIATION, since TOOL
SHED took top team from you this turn, you guys are old news. Now keep the taverns
open late tonight, for there are sorrows to drown for THE RED BLADES, whose 0-0-0
this turn dropped them by 8 into 13th. Ha! TOOL SHED turned their 5-0-0 turn into a
1st place rank in the listings this turn. Any better than this, and you get put on
hit lists. Now let's all watch NOMADIC TRIBE's heads swell from their 5-0-1 this
turn. Haa ha ha ha! Big shots, big talk, big deal. Of course, we're all terribly
impressed to see GREY FATAL win a fight and gain 18 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, GREY
FATAL beat PANAMA RED and PANAMA RED lost 14 points. You're breakin' my heart.
FRITERSATAFATFARM challenged SUNSET's Duelmaster for a shot at the throne. And if
variety is the spice of life, SUNSET may be getting bland, as GECKO stays top dog in
the city. Kickbacks and bribes, kickbacks and bribes, how else do you think some of
these guys win their fights? Skill? Ha!
My mother always told me, 'If you don't have anything nice to say, start
talking.' I loved that woman. SUNSET, I am losing what little hope I had in you.
OMINOUS REIGN the most avoided team? What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And it
looks like NOMADIC TRIBE avoided them the most this turn. What a pack of would be
losers, if you ask me. Hmph. Ooh, I'm frightfully impressed, MACHIDE SHOU was this
turn's most challenged warrior. Watch that ego swell, sports fans. I guess I can
give a little credit to WALLI WEEBLE of NOMADIC TRIBE for challenging up by 20 to ROW
DAYO DRIVE. WALLI WEEBLE won to get 62 points of recognition. And we have LIKE
WATER in a challenge, going down 8 points for the fight. Guess what? I thought LIKE
WATER showed great skill and promise when he was overcame by METARU HEI. All right,
so I slept through it! Big deal!
Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. And what a stunning loss we have here,
boys and girls, PYNCHON of LITERATE LOONS has added the final loss to his 15-19-0.
Tee hee! Consider DREYNAR gone, and BLOODTHIRST unfeeling, letting the bloodfeud for
his death go unrevenged. Honor is like a chainmail shirt, it only shines through
use. Certain nameless cowards will doubtless rebuke me on this one.
There's got to be a better place in SUNSET to get a drink than Baba Yaga's Bar
and Grill! Any suggestions? Well, I've had enough of this drivel, and I'm sure you

All -- Rezurekt started 9-10-14-16-20-9-6 SL, burned to 11-10-14-17-21-10-7. +3 att
(ambi), +1 dec., graduates with maters in att, dec., and init. Faves were HA, HI/LO,
no tactics, learns decise, which undoubtedly proved beneficial! I tried HA early on
but didn't see much with it, same with BS even after the trains to get suited. Not
too high on the ol' BS these days. He did rather well with the trusty SC, luckily.
Learned poorly early on and I thought for while he would be barely over .500 like
other 7 DF slashers I've run, but he came on late and did well. Some brief
uneventful tourney experience, definitely more of an arena guy for me, which is fine.
He is slasher #6 to graduate from this team, #7 from Sunset, following Carnal,
Bonedust, Skydancer, Blevins, and Slythr to ADM where he will retire with honors.

All -- Well, always a bridesmaid-slasher, never a bride, it appears...or, something
like that anyway. If I was destined to never sit the throne of Sunset at least I can
smile seeing three slashers atop the pile for one turn at least! The old veteran and
the two young guns, Gecko and the Fritter! I leave things in your obviously capable
hands, gentlemen, carve'em up! For my last duel I contemplated heading to the DA to
see how tough the Arenamaster really is (he's always bragging about it, have you
noticed?). But then I remembered a teammate fallen, a friend who fought side by side
with me for many a turn and held the throne himself before being struck down from
there in his prime, I remembered a score that was never quite settled even...'Up from
the ground, the blood of my brothers cries unto me....' Isn't that how it goes? My
final challenge will be to Angel, to kill the killer and make good the score. Good

Nomies -- Have only ever had 3 P-Rips in the entire history of the Kano Clan (1102,
1369, and 6590) with a total record of 2-10-0. You've never noticed the Kano's run a
P-Rip because you're just a novice without any vision. The two P-Rips I have
graduated do indeed have winning records (54-37-0 combined). So, while you're just a
blubbering moron, can the rest of us get back to work now.
Therefore, while I may not have had much success with P-Rips in Sunset, I can without
question be considered a far more credible source on P-Rips than you can ever hope to
