Notes from the arena champ.
WWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLL, LOOKEE HEEYAH!! Look who finally made
it to the top of the scrap heap!!
For a while there, quite a long while actually, it was always a bridesmaid,
never a plate-clad bride for the Big Little Basher that Could! But I suppose if you
can just stay alive long enough, the odds have gotta come into play at some point.
I've seen a lot of good warriors and a lot of puds sit up here and graduate before
me, and I've seen some die trying, too. The last Duelmaster the Old Man had, my
teammate Mersilus, was one of them. It's good to be the King at last, if only for a
day. If one of you, ANY of you useless dogs, could teach me just a thing or two, I
could get my notice from the Greywand chick and be off like a prom dress. Gods know
I've taught all of you enough tricks... "This is how you take a scimmy crit to the
face! This is how you fall over carefully in plate armor! This is how you attempt
to parry (and fail) with your warhammer!" And on and on.... Enough already, I want
outta here! The Old Man was almost desperate enough to send me to tourney again,
that woulda been a sight, I tell you! I did pretty well last time I went, surprised
him, I did, but I don't expect the results would be the same in Challengers this time
around. So, a couple of the whelp teammates went instead. Luck to'em, try not to
come home in a body bag, boys! (Raises ale, quaffs and belches loudly.)
So, who to fight? Beats me, honestly. At this point, one's the same as the
next. Guess I'd rather fight a verteran, those little young whippersnappers will
have their day soon enough. Let the old dogs duke it out. In any case, I actually
didn't challenge anyone, so we'll see who walks out to say hello to my little friend,
Mr. Maul!! Worst of luck, to you! Hopefully it'll be as good a slugfest as I just
had with Silver Haze, hats off to you son.
All right, be on about yer business, but one last thing. All this bitchin' and
whinin' about down challenges and upchallenges and unfair bloodfeuds, seriously?!???
Knock, knock, you're fightin' in a DELARQ arena here. Expect the challenges to come
from anywhere, set your kill desires accordingly, and be ready to reap what you sow.

SPY REPORT
Much has changed in SUNSET since last I was here. Never fear, Olaf Modeen
adapts to many situations, as do all successful fighters. Woof! NOMADIC TRIBE were
a bunch of dogs after 420 B.C. got through with 'em! 3rd ain't so sweet as 1st! THE
RED BLADES bit the big one as they could not win. They dropped from 8th down to
19th! Are you guy giving lessons or what? Ya gotta be quick on yer feet! Keep your
elbow off the table! Thrust! Block out the pain! DARK OVERLORDS is now ranked 5th
with a 3-2-0 turn. Some people say I ramble too much, I don't say anything relevant.
I repeat myself. I ramble. Well GREDAN moved up 8, to 9th. What's with FEYTALONY?
She actually beat DEVIATION's MY SWORD AND SAVIOR, and walked away with 21 more
points from the fight. Major screwup at DEVIATION. MY SWORD AND SAVIOR lost 18
points to FEYTALONY. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe MY SWORD AND SAVIOR will
provide more easy wins... THE BLUES' hatred of GRIM FANDANGO surfaced again as RED
HOUSE challenged SUNSET's top dog. RED HOUSE was reminded on the sands why BLAKSKUL
is Duelmaster. I suppose you want to hear some rumors and dirty gossip about your
fellow fighters? Tough!
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... How well I know the
feeling of being in the most avoided team! Don't fall out of practive, DEVIATION!
In my day, no team with a 99-74-6 would scare me off! What's the problem, KANO CLAN?
How well I know the feeling of being the most challenged warrior, SMURF LIGHTNING!
Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to haunt you. SORROW of DARK AT HEART
knows how to pick 'em. She challenged SMURF LIGHTNING of BEN'S BAZAAR who is up by
19. Now was this a wise move? SORROW perhaps got hers just desserts, seeing as she
was beat by SMURF LIGHTNING and ended up with 8 recognition points.
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. Do you want the fighters
to walk away, or not? SQUIGGY CROW of THE RED BLADES didn't know when to quit. When
you've got a 4-5-1, that's a good sign. Now he's dead. Yeah, yeah, CC RIDER killed
HASH BROWNIE, who was "too young to die." Well, it was a fighter, and that's what
you have to face. HIPPY LOVE was plum wore out after HARDY pounded 'im silly in a
Bloodfeud. COSMIC FREAK OUT'll have to get a little better before going after HARDY
again! How long have I been here? I got people to see, places to go...
Many other cities have retirement homes for aged warriors. Any plans here? The
end of another Spyreport! That's cause for celebration in my book! Time for my
