Good day to you all! Please make yourselves comfortable. I would like to start
out by saying that I am grateful to be here and be alive. I survived my first
defense of the throne even with Gentleben at the "helm." Suzy Q gave it a valiant
effort. Food show ole girl, good show. I believe I sent out my challenges to Bell
and Ozadanwin, the two top CCs that fought last turn. Nice to see the rest of the
team doing well as we took over the current top team spot. It's been a while since
we held that title. Here's to us trying to keep it next turn. If I manage to hold
on to the throne again I should get my invite, we shall see, though, I need to win
first, so first things first right?
I would like to take this opportunity to tell all the returning managers and
warriors glad to have you and may your purses and bellies be full and your blades
brite red with blood. Keep your swords sharp and your minds sharper. Good luck to
you all.

SPY REPORT
It's me, The Unknown Spymaster, back to give you this week's Spy Report. Sit
back in your seats and we'll have more fun than a barrel of Zontanis. We now have a
new top team for all of you guys to dogpile on. MASTERS OF MELODY now holds the
crown and they are betting they can keep it. Coming up with a solid 3-2-0 outing,
THE BLUES has advanced 6 places in the rankings. Advancing in the rankings was ALL
JACKED UP II who went from last turn's 105-130-6, to this week's record of 109-131-6.
Hey everybody, watch out for SMITHWICK, who flew up 44 points in the rankings after
mashing SOULSTICE like a melon. Keep your eye on this guy. And falling like a
basher in the top ten was IXION, who dropped 16 points after a disappointing (to say
the least) bout with JACK FROST. The most challenged warrior this week was
CENTAURIAN. If this keeps up, our Duelmaster's going to need more avoids! BELL got
through to the Duelmaster this turn. No doubt she was more than anxious to kick
CENTAURIAN's tail out of the throne! It's a proud day for the OMINOUS REIGN stable,
as their warrior, BELL, ascended the Duelmaster's throne. An apple a day keeps the
doctor away, but an onion a day keeps T.P.s at bay.
But enough of that bunch, let's get on to the wimps who like to avoid battle!
And hey, kiddies, those of you who didn't avoid THE BLUES, please raise you hand.
Wow. Does SUNSET really have that many liars? And you guys like to boo me? Well,
unsling your rasberries, cause GRIM FANDANGO beats feet every time THE BLUES smiles
at them. Try farming, eh? Was it guts or an overtaxed mental capacity that had
TARUM challenge up 30 points in the rankings to take on JOE MAMA? I don't know about
you, but when I saw TARUM step out on the sands with JOE MAMA, I though it was over
before it started. Good upset TARUM! In a touching display by a 'touched' warrior,
SEVN HELLS went after BRACKUS, who was higher by 24 points. Well, when the dust
settled, SEVN HELLS beat BRACKUS.
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). MANILOW says to his dog--'Who should I
fight this week?'. Dog says 'WURM KIN'. So the guy dies. Moral? Put lying dogs to
sleep. This week 5-8-0 MELAKY was sent to the Dark Arena. I know a lot of fighters
with similar records who might take notice of this. It's not often when you see a
13-7-0 warrior like SOULSTICE kick the bucket. I wonder if GRIM FANDANGO will
recover from the blow. Yes, and another newbie bites the dust as DIERKIN goes down
under the sword of THAK. Thanks to this, THAK now has 105 recognition points. On a
sad note, SOULSTICE found an early retirement at the hands of SMITHWICK this week. I
wonder what GRIM FANDANGO will be doing about it? Carrion Bird Heaven: DIERKIN was
put to death by THAK (The true definition of 'Street Pizza'). Here's some advice:
warriors with little wit and will may encounter problems on the trail to the Isle.
Well, there's the manager of the SUNSET giving me the 'cut' sign (or is that
'They're going to strangle you in the alley?). Okay, so I may not be the world's
best comedian, but then you guys aren't the world's best warriors. And remember, you
can pick your friends and you can pick your--(loud boos), oh, you've heard that one

Justin Credible and D.R.I. -- The death of Liquid Sky was an accident, the Tribe
rarely intends to kill. At another time I might question a CC challenging an init,
but a BF is a special situation and as a team you really had no choices that didn't
massively outrank me. So Sky is avenged. Honor to you. But while the BF was
expected, I do have one issue--how is it that Justin only taught me ONE skill? My
learn rate previouly has been well above that, but here when I am forced into a
nearly hopeless fight that should at least afford me a great opportunity to learn I
get... one skill. Very disappointing. I'm sure it disappointed you as well. --

Well, the results of the fall tourney should be in this here newsletter. We get to
see the good, the bad, and the ugly. I haven't had a TV from one of my Sunsetters
for a looong time. Seems like 6-3 or 5-3 is about the ceiling these days. It's one
of the weird things about this arena is that we've never had a really strong
contingent in ADM nor have we ever been a big tourney presence. I'll take my share
of the blame on both of those I guess! Oh well, drinks for the winners and the

There was a line outside the Gladiatorial Commission's registry office. There
often was, but surely not now? Alarond the Scribe, who had drawn office duty today,
frowned at them.
A stocky, fit, moderately handsome gladiator stepped up to the counter. "I want a
name-change," he said. "How can I do my best known as," he shuddered, "'Dangling
Eyeball'? My name is Joe, and I want to use it."
A small and very shapely woman stepped up beside him. "And I am really tired of
being known as 'DA Bait'." She smiled, causing Alarond to sway where he stood. "I'd
like to be known as... Aphrodite, I think."
The others crowded forward, each advancing a claim, the babble of voice rising to
a roar, the crowd beginning to look like a mob--and every member of it armed and
dangerous.
Alarond raised his hands to quiet them, without much success. He raised his
voice, too. "We'll do it! A Name-Change-O-Rama, as soon as we can get the paperwork
lined up! Two or three months, maybe--"
The gladiators howled in protest at the delay.
"No, listen! The files here are HUGE, it will take time to get everything
straight. You've got to be patient. It WILL happen!"
