Notes from the arena champ.
Hey, what's up? I am!! It is good to be here. I want to tip my hat to Snake
Charmer, it was about time someone from Just Chillin finally beat you. It has been a
long road to the top and I hope I can last longer than my buddy No Hurry. I see some
strong challengers that all want it--The Democrats, Poison Clan, and of course
Kellumbo's Kids (haven't they had enough Duelmasters of late?). I hear there is a
big tournament coming up, but when I ask Mr. Freeze he just keeps talking about some
other contest with a bat and a ball--I'm not sure what that is about, I'll take a
scimitar over a club any day. Well, I would rather be fighting than writing so it is
back to the practice yard. Until the next time.
SPY REPORT
Good day, friends and fiends, welcome to your friendly neighborhood spyreport.
I doubt SOLVEN will ever be the same. It seems the training can make the difference,
as KELLUMBO'S KIDS is pushed out of top team by DON'T ASK SANDY, who came from 4th
with a 4-0-0 this turn. Now keep the taverns open late tonight, for there are
sorrows to drown for TREE PEOPLE 2, whose 0-0-0 this turn dropped them by 7 into
14th. LEGIO ITALICA stable has parlayed this turn's 4-1-0 into a 6 space move up the
rankings. This brings them up to 7th place. Good work, guys! The DON'T ASK SANDY
guild has had a 4-0-0 turn and deserves to be watched in the future. You never know
where this kind of thing can lead. And let's see, JUSTUS fought TRUSTWORTHY SCRIBE
and gained 20 points and contributed to LEGIO ITALICA's 4-1-0. BIFF STREICHER has
lost to CHARLES RANGEL, falling 15 points, while helping make MEDIEVAL CHAOS a 3-2-0
turn. NANCY PELOSI challenged for the Duelmastership this turn, attempting to
dethrone JUST CHILLIN's warrior. And all eyes were on NANCY PELOSI this turn as she
ascended to the throne of Duelmaster. SOLVEN has a new victor! Tell me, is nothing
sacred? I have heard from unimpeachable sources that The Victory Tavern uses trolls
in their stew. Talk about gristle!
He who challenges well, fights well. He who avoids without cause, shall lose
for good reasons. My mama told me that one. KELLUMBO'S KIDS has cause to stand
tall, as they were SOLVEN's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team
to beat. And avoiding KELLUMBO'S KIDS more than any other team we find THE ZOO.
SOLVEN, are we going to accept, or respect this sort of thing? Well, sports fans,
take notice that ELDRIDGE PHANT from THE ZOO was SOLVEN's most challenged warrior
this turn. I don't know about you, but SCHWARZENEGGER challenging down 20 points to
THE REPUBLICANS' SUPPLY SIDE, is not really worthy of KELLUMBO'S KIDS. We're not
surprised to hear that SCHWARZENEGGER overcame SUPPLY SIDE, but I bet it would be
interesting to hear why KELLUMBO'S KIDS made such a challenge. Tsk, tsk, tsk. ON A
DATE, does your manager know you're challenging down 16 points to fight ELDRIDGE
PHANT from THE ZOO? It pains me to see warriors take advantage of the system like
this. ON A DATE subdued ELDRIDGE PHANT, as if it surprises anyone.
The Dark Arena is for those who cannot win, not who cannot lose with grace.

Leeta -- The Republicans offer the following rebuttal to your position on
downchallenging in last turn's personal ads. You state "the way a manager challenges
and how he feels about doing it is between him and his conscience or other
appropriate concept. It is not, in my opinion, something that requires the sanction
of the arena community at large." You could not be more wrong. If you play like a
punk, you deserve the scorn and retribution of the managers in the arena who do not
appreciate this type of play. No one is telling you that you cannot do it. But
those managers who do not appreciate this type of play should not be "silenced"
simply because the rules do not technically bar this type of dishonorable play.
Interestingly, the few managers who downchallenge here in Solven are the same
managers that routinely gloat about their winning percentages. You cannot seriously
believe that we should remain silent about that. Why do you think their winning
percentages are high? Also, it's not just small downchallenges certain managers
(cough...Kellumbo) challenge down in excess of 20 points. Give me a break. Your
predecessor, Morris, was annoyed by the massive downchallengers as well. So in
conclusion, you play like a punk in this arena, you can expect to be ridiculed and
attacked. -- Judge

Leeta -- The challenge system was set up to protect a manager who believes only in a
certain way of game play. In a Delarq arena, it's acceptable to DC. For those who
want to play that way, they should have put their team there. Here in Solven, I play
the way an Andorian should. Upchallenge only, in general. My team in Sunset plays
by Delarq rules. If I and others can follow the rules, no reason you or anybody else
can't. Nobody is making you stay here. If you choose to stay, please follow the
