                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

Hail Solven!
I tried to remember to send in a column in on time, so here's to hoping somebody
gets this scroll before the lamp oil burns out. It's nice to be on top, men always
want to be on top. Sexiest pigs you all are. I would like to thank the lousy
competition for getting me here. If it wans't for you guys sucking, I wouldn't be as
good as I'am. Sucks that I graduate before having a real run at being Duelmaster. I
got lucky with my favs, high\very high, Long Sword, favors learning Riposte. With
the bonuses I got, I will be fighting in ADM to see if I can hold my own, or its off
to retirement. I would like to make a special mention to that turd named Master
Taco, you are a filthy liar. You make the Republicans look good. I don't want to
waste to much time with a peice of poop like you, so my teammates will look for
oppitunities to kill your turdites down.
Well Solven, my time is done, I'm off to my last fight, hopefully a win. Those
I challenged were the best choices I had. Wasn't gonna give that turd a shot if I
have a say in the matter. Later ya'll!

                        Your beloved Duelmaster, Nancy Pelosi

                                      SPY REPORT

Well, what are you looking at, SOLVEN? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. MEDIEVAL CHAOS turned their 4-1-1 turn
into a 4th place rank in the listings this turn. Any better than this, and you get
put on hit lists. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see BLIND ILLUSION win
a fight and gain 38 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, BIFF STREICHER beat BULL MARKET and
BULL MARKET lost 12 points. You're breakin' my heart. Going for broke or broken,
our Duelmaster WHAT UP challenged this turn. And if variety is the spice of life,
SOLVEN may be getting bland, as NANCY PELOSI stays top dog in the city. Kickbacks
and bribes, kickbacks and bribes, how else do you think some of these guys win their
fights? Skill? Ha!
Well, let's take a look at some more misdeeds of you miserable sword-boys.
What's the big D? KELLUMBO'S KIDS was the most avoided team? Bunch of lily
livered... grumble... mumble... curse... And who led the way in this mass act of
cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was THE ZOO. Ha ha ha ha! Ooh, I'm
frightfully impressed, ELDRIDGE PHANT was this turn's most challenged warrior. Watch
that ego swell, sports fans. I notice SCHWARZENEGGER challenging down 17 points to
fight MARIUS, KELLUMBO'S KIDS doubtless has some rotten excuse for such an insult to
honor. And golly gee, SCHWARZENEGGER overcame MARIUS. Aren't we all surprised and
impressed? And we have CAIUS in a challenge, going down 13 points for the fight.
Guess what? I thought CAIUS showed great skill and promise when he bested SUPPLY
SIDE. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. Let's see, 10-1-0. Pretty good record for
a living warrior. A sad one though, for a dead one. Such is the case for JESSICA of
KELLUMBO'S KIDS. Tsk. The bigger they are, as they say. And what I say is that
BLIND ILLUSION had better watch out for KELLUMBO'S KIDS, seeing as JESSICA felled he
this turn. We're all going to die in the end, so why worry if the fate catches up
with you sooner that later?
What does the SOLVEN arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Phlllt! Just had to do that
before I leave the fine city of SOLVEN. I feel much better now. Glad to see the
back of this place-- Snide Clemens

Supply Side -- Nothing like seeing an old teammate. Good fight. Let's try it again
soon. -- Schwarzenegger

The Toad -- Bet you never expected the old rice paper trick, didjya?! That's right
pal, toads are no match for me when I can charm snakes. You are just lucky I decided
to spare your worthless life and not kill you like I will next time we fight. Wish
to avoid Kellumbo's Kids #676 might help you out some... -- Snake Charmer

Kung-Fu Master -- Hiya! It's called a karate chop! -- Jessica

Nancy Pelosi -- Well done, well done indeed. The throne, most popular, and most
recognition. Truley impressive. Congrats. -- Detective Kellumbo and the Kids

Talon -- Hey now, that top spot is mine. You just get out of the way! -- DK

Leeta -- Apologies. Hope my PA last turn at least explained why I did it. --
Kellumbo

Judge -- You don't down challenge, but you are still riduculed and attacked. What
gives? -- DK
P.S. You play like a punk too.

Medieval Chaos -- Any relation to the Chaos alliance? Just curious on if I should
start DCing you as well or not. -- DK

On A Date -- Why not? Murmur soft nothings in her ear. Tell her you'll kill her
houseplants for her. Invite her to help you fight the monsters in your bathtub. --
Eldridge Phant

Subotai -- It's that damned red hair that all you Harkenes have. I'm helpless
against red hair. -- Arishtarte
P.S. I wish *I* had red hair, and people would be helpless against ME!

2 Cheat 4 You -- Good point. Definitely don't ask her that. -- Kiwira

Wrathchild -- (with insufferable smugness) Don't bring your wrath into the arena,
child. It will do you no good. -- Zooie the cool and calm

Bull Market -- But I'm not in the market for a bull! What would I do with one?
Where would I keep it, what would it eat? I don't WANT a bull. Please! -- Zebroe

Name Dropper -- (furiously) If you weren't looking around for names to drop all the
time, you rat, you blind mole, you would realize that I am a WOMAN. And too much
woman for you, I have no doubt at all. -- Arishtarte

Judge -- We appear to differ on the definition of "sanction." -- Leeta
P.S. I play like a Commission employee. It does make a difference, you know.

Al Gore -- (sigh) I know that the different regions make a difference in custom on
the challenging issue. I play in all of them. (In Sunset, see Sword Opera, managed
by Nick, my Delarquan persona.) I have suggested to the programmers and policy-
setters that something be built into the official rules and game code to reflect
regional differences. You'd think I'd suggested eating kittens! The constraints
under which I run my teams include: don't discourage others from playing, and don't
try to dictate to others how they should play, regardless of the region they're
playing in. There have been house managers who threw their weights around,
specifically in the Andorian arenas on the subject of down-challenging, and I have
been enjoined not to go down that road; at this time, the Commission is very firm
about not seeing that kind of thing from an employee again.
So my options here in Solven are to play as I do, or not to play. I Leave it to
the consensus of the arena which is preferable. -- Leeta, The Zoo

The Phoenix -- You went down in flames. -- Chump. -- Al Gore

Biff -- Thanks for the skills and easy win. -- Al Gore

87 Pts -- Bah! you got me this time. We will see next time. -- Al Gore

Cepacol -- You are no gentleman. -- Al Gore

Leeta -- Now that you get a little taste of Kellumbo's massive downchallenging, your
position on downchallenging changed pretty quickly. I feel your pain. First time I
have seen an employee-run team use avoids. If the downchallenges were just a few
points, and only once in a while, we would not care. It's the way a couple managers
abuse the challenge privilege that offends us. I hope that you respond to Kellumbo
and other like managers in kind. -- Judge, mgr. of The Republicans

Kellumbo -- Nice 20 point downchallenge and scum job last cycle with Schwarzeneggar.
Your style of play sickens us. -- Judge, mgr. of The Republicans

22 October 2004
                         Youngblood's Three and Out Contest

I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what
I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before,
here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a
chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see
fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules
(like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later).

 1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only.
 2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.)
 3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts.
 4. All warriors will run until they lose three times, after three losses they are
     eliminated.
 5. If a warrior sits out a turn, they are accounted with a loss in the contest.
This is to keep warriors with winning records from sitting out until the end of
     the contest.
 6. If a warrior is killed during the contest, the replacement cannot enter the
     contest.
 7. If a warrior is killed, bloodfeuding is allowed, but only by a warrior that is
     active in the contest.
 8. If a warrior is run after being eliminated, the manager is disqualified from the
     contest, no questions asked.
 9. Challenges are legal, up or down.
10. Contest will keep going until 1 warrior is left without three losses, and that
warrior, of course, is accounted the winner.
11. All managers participating will be asked to purchase a rollup certificate, to be
awarded to the winners of the contest.

                                    <<<PRIZES>>>

As I have already said, and according to participation, rollups will be awarded
to the first and second place managers. So the majority and minority of the rollups
will be determined when all are accumulated.
Contest Champion--2 Faves prizes, and majority of rollup certificates
Contest Runner-up--1 Faves prize, and minority of rollup certificates
So once again I invite all managers old and new to participate in what should be
a fierce and challenging contest. <<<REMEMBER, FIRST OFFICIAL TURN OF THE CONTEST IS
DECEMBER THE FIRST, AND AS I SAID BEFORE, THE TURN BEFORE (NOVEMBER 17TH) YOU MAY
DARK ARENA CHALLENGE ONLY!!! ANY WARRIOR WITH ANY FE (FIGHT EXPERIENCE) WHEN THE
CONTEST STARTS WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE CONTEST.
