                             Notes from the arena champ.

Ah, this fine throne still feels like it did just a few turns ago. I like it.
Think I'll stick around for a while. Looks like things in the arena are really
heating up in regards to down challenges lately. Good guys and bad guys never seem
to get along. Me, I'm just a little ole' snake charmer looking for snakes to charm.
No such luck lately. Only toads, and they are stinky and small and smell like Judge
on a Wednesday before the Thursday bath. Hopefully Blind Illusion will come to this
week's fight looking like a snake so I can charm him. Either way, he must pay for
killing off Jessica. Guess she'll never get a chance to use the TV she earned in the
tourney. Sigh....
Think I'll keep this one short and see if I can stick around for a few turns up
here. I might have to save up some interesting stuff to say for next turn. So, with
that said, best of luck on the sands, and hopefully we all did well at the tourney.

                                      SPY REPORT

You elder fighters surely remember me. The younger ones may call me Olaf
Modeen. I return to SOLVEN once again! Biff! Pow! SOLVEN watched with glee as
DON'T ASK SANDY got knocked off top spot by KELLUMBO'S KIDS! Hmmmph! I always
thought DON'T ASK SANDY was an over-rated team and they proved it with a 0-0-0! Up
'n down. Up 'n down. Rankings always change. Up 'n down. I think I'm gonna be...
Well, LEGIO ITALICA's 3rd moved them up to 2-3-0 place. THE POISON CLAN showed
SOLVEN what they were made of as they fought with a vengeance to walk off with 4-1-0.
What's with SCHWARZENEGGER? He actually beat JUST CHILLIN's ICE PICK, and walked
away with 21 more points from the fight. Major screwup at JUST CHILLIN. ICE PICK
lost 12 points to SCHWARZENEGGER. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe ICE PICK will
provide more easy wins... SOLVEN has a Duelmaster who doesn't sit back and get lazy.
He Bloodfeuded MEDIEVAL CHAOS' BLIND ILLUSION (13-6-1), which should prove (ahem!)
interesting. BLIND ILLUSION was reminded on the sands why SNAKE CHARMER is
Duelmaster. Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects to practice on? I hear some
team is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners.
No matter the time or place, men will always duel. How well I know the feeling
of being in the most avoided team! Don't fall out of practive, KELLUMBO'S KIDS!
Management must be dealin', as the boys at THE REPUBLICANS ain't reelin'! KELLUMBO'S
KIDS' mad! What do people see in SUPPLY SIDE? His 3-4-0? THE REPUBLICANS ain't
talkin', but he's got 25 points. ROE V WADE didn't quite know what to make of a
challenge she received from TAX DEDUCTION of THE REPUBLICANS, who is 25 points below
her. TAX DEDUCTION perhaps got his just desserts, seeing as he was defeated by ROE V
WADE and ended up with 31 recognition points.
Warriors of SOLVEN unite. You have only your games to lose! BLIND ILLUSION was
plum wore out after SNAKE CHARMER pounded 'im silly in a Bloodfeud. MEDIEVAL
CHAOS'll have to get a little better before going after SNAKE CHARMER again! How
long have I been here? I got people to see, places to go...
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
All work and no play makes Olaf a dull fighter. Work and play no fighter dull Olaf.
Olaffighterwork and no play. Time for my medication, so I'll leave now. Practice,
practice, practice!-- Olaf Modeen

DK -- In answer to your questions, my name is Huckle Cat and I'm running Medieval
Chaos and Ultra-Violence here. I've just rejoined D2 after 10 years and had these
teams transferred in. You might also recognize me from Lords of Chaos in Aruak.
I've never heard of the Chaos alliance before. Must have been before or after my
time, depending on how you look at it. -- Huckle Cat

DK -- Condolences on Jessica. It wasn't intentional and, given that I didn't change
strategies from the last fight between the two, I guess it was just bad luck. I'm
not looking forward to the Bloodfeud, but I won't avoid it. -- Blind Illusion

Maruis -- That's what happens when you don't learn enough and start to get towards
the top of the inits. At least for you you probably realize that you should have won
that fight if not for an unlucky "break". Best luck in the future. -- Schwarzenegger

The Toad -- What's that!? You came back for more. Same to ya then upstart! -- Snake

Blind Illusion -- Such a shame... -- Ghost of Jessica

The Pheonix -- That's what we call revenge. All I needed was a little pep talk from
Turkey Joe, and I was good to go! -- Name Dropper

Easy Breeze -- Did you get your name because all it took was an easy breeze to knock
you over? -- Lucias Clay

Leeta -- I for one really do enjoy having you in the arena. Sorry if the DC's
bothered you. I try to mostly keep them to Judge, but sometimes they sneak off onto
your team. I'll try to cut back on that quite a bit because you are so cool. Judge
on the other hand.... -- Kellumbo

Judge -- You realize, don't you, that the vast majority of my DC's are against your
team. If you weren't such a priss about it, perhaps it would end. I remember it was
almost two years ago we exchanged words and I said that as soon as my guys got some
experience that I would beat on you like there was no tomorrow. Remember that? Some
of us have long memories. Don't expect it to end anytime soon because let's face it:
You don't like me, and I don't like you. That said, you have two real options. Shut
up and take it like you have for the last few months, or, as Doc Steele says, cowboy
up and do something about it. The choice is yours. I am guessing you'll choose the
first option, or just simply choose to leave the arena like your buddy Wimpy did. --
Detective Kellumbo

Tree People -- Welcome to the arena. Who manages you? If you need a little help,
drop me a diplo. -- DK

Justus -- Boldly challenged. I guess that could be taken to mean that little guys
don't mind risking their necks? Because some people make comments, you know. --

2 Cheat 4 You -- Why? Because she's already doing it for you? Or because you can't
stand the thought of being beaten up by her? -- Eldridge Phant

Aemilia -- (muttering) Damned upstart. -- Kiwira
P.S. I had something else to say, but the mail came and distracted me. Damned if I
can remember what it was, now. (sigh) I suppose that means it wasn't terribly
important, but...how could *I* think of something that wasn't terribly important?
ALL the things I think of are important, all the thoughts worthy of being shared....

Ice Pick -- Well, you've got it right today, for sure. I feel JUST like an ice cube
today. -- Zooie

Little Branch -- Umm, some kind of wooden golem? Tell 'em not to season you so long,
it makes you brittle. Or something. -- Zebroe
P.S. Of course, GREEN wood warps, but you can't have everything, and I often think
that anyone who becomes a gladiator must have been warped in the first place.

Jessica -- You think that I, a master of the ancient art of Kung-Fu, would stoop to
the crude methods of the parvenu karate? Gods forefend. -- Ki Li, Master of Kung Fu

Judge -- My position on downchallenge is, as it has been, that it is a legal move.
True, the challenge to Zebroe two turns ago was excessively greedy, though legal. I
have made the response that seems to me the most appropriate, all factors being
weighed. I have instructed Sandy to take my team off maintenance, and if things were
done on schedule, The Zoo will not run this turn. So long as the arena is big enough
to stay healthy, I see no reason to resume, and naturally we none of us want to see
this arena drop to fewer than six teams. So you may pursue your feud with Kellumbo
without the distraction of my presence. -- Leeta, The Zoo

22 October 2004
                         Youngblood's Three and Out Contest

I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what
I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before,
here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a
chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see
fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules
(like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later).

 1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only.
 2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.)
 3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts.

Going inactive doesn't mean you get removed from this list; people are assumed to
still be in the same alliance when they return. Even having everyone in an alliance

another thing you have to let me know....

Hammer 500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups
                                  Hosted by Hammer

Niytyole Island DM 33 has dwindled to the point where as of T-482 [duedate
November 3, 2004] there were only 2 active stables listed with 3 inactive stables in
a once thriving and lively regular arena.
During the past 40+ cycles Hammer has been hosting the Hammer Run for the Roll
Ups in DM 33.
Thus far only the Ripper and Slasher categories have produced winners to claim
the 5 New Team Roll Ups Prize for being the first declared Style Master of their
respective categories to graduate.
Every contending stable has gone inactive for one reason or another, including
CASINO HAMMERZ, over the past several months.
Now DM 33 faces the harsh reality that if RSI chooses to close any arenas due to
little or no interest, Niytyole Island could very well head the list of endangered
regular arenas!
In an effort to preserve his beloved island, Hammer is announcing the
continuation of the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups; combined with the Hammer 500 which
will conclude both contests on T-500 [duedate July 13, 2005] should DM 33 continue to
remain open in the coming months.
     Attention Hammer Runners!
The Hammer Run is for 0 FE Basic Arena Warriors ONLY. Participants MUST Be
Declared in the P-ads On or Before their First DM 33 Basic Arena Fight to Qualify as
a Hammer Runner! Winners of Each Category will receive 5 New Team Roll Up Gift
Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! [On the condition that they
Graduate on or before T-500; see amended rules below!]
The following Style Master categories remain open with a listing of how many
declared contestants are still entered and their W/L recognition record at the time
of their disappearance from the Hammer Run competition:

Hammer is willing to foot the Prize bill in a last ditch effort to save Niytyole
Island from deletion if RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission decide that more arenas
need to be closed due to lack of participation and interest.
Should this effort fail to spare DM 33 from deletion, then Hammer is prepared to
transfer CASINO HAMMERZ to another arena if Niytyole Island is closed by RSI and the
Gladiatorial Commission.
