                             Notes from the arena champ.

A bad match for M. Chardinee, but he did his best, as usual. I wish he hadn't
waited until he was being carried out to indicate that he had an important message
for me, though. The Infirmary is not the place to whisper secrets. Which does, in
passing, make me wonder about the "secret admirers." Of course, the Infirmary is
where they're found out, so maybe that's part and parcel of it just the same.

                                    Kerman Jones

                                      SPY REPORT

Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day,
I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again! MEDAL OF HONOR A3 had cause to celebrate,
after DA1 got 18 points by beating CAPTURED ORC. Win some, lose some. Speaking of
which, MITCHELL PAIGE was winsome, after beating MORLIN POOLE and seeing him lose 6
points. In ZORPUNT, nothing is permanent (except Death), and we find ourselves a new
Duelmaster, MANUEL PEREZ. Word has it one team in ZORPUNT is taking speech lessons
to try to bore their opponent to death. I'll bet it works.
So much to report, so little time! Like a horde of jackals fleeing from the
lion, so did the "warriors" in ZORPUNT avoid KRILL CAVALRY. The warriors of KRILL
CAVALRY found their efforts at combat frustrated as MEDAL OF HONOR A3 apparently had
more important things to do than fight. Is it charming personality? Conversational
abilities? Good oral hygiene? Whatever it is, TRAVIS T FLETE is the most challenged
warrior.
Is there life after death? Pragmatics (and warriors) know there is death after
life! Ask not a spymaster for counsel, for he will pontificate long after you have
fallen into an unconscious stupor.
All good things must come to an end. Keep those sands bloody and the buzzards
fat! Do not despair! I shall return!-- Novgorodny Vir

Manuel Perez -- Ah, one of the better students, I see. I congratulate you. --
Miressea Poole
P.S. And drat those disadvantageous style matches!

Huh, Kerman can go on about what a good guy M. Chardinee is, but I don't have to
agree. He DELIBERATELY drew that fight out to exhaust me and make me look foolish in
front of the women. Well, I took care of THAT. I may have looked tired, but HE
looked like chopped cat's-meat. Serves him right. -- Travis T Flete
P.S. I don't like people who belong to secret societies anyway. It's just a way of
lording it over us ordinary everyday guys. The Chardinee Society is as bad as any
cult.

Da2 -- Yah yah! What a bum! Early burnout--what a weakling! -- Morlin Poole
P.S. And your manager feels contempt for you, besides!

Da2 -- You might want to watch yourself around Morlin. He has a low trustworthiness
rating. -- an anonymous member of the Krill Cavalry team
P.S. Now that I check, we're none of us paragons of trustworthiness. Do you suppose
Jorja is trying to send a message with this?

Jinx -- If that was "nurturing," I'll take a plate of hash instead. -- Lorenso Poole

Mitchell Paige -- Couldn't you at least have spared me the cost of a meal? -- Kalzak
Steeleye, Beggar in Good Standing

Frank Peregory -- I don't forget such insults. And I work very well in alleys. --
Kusster, Highly Dangerous Standby with Criminal Overtones

DA1 -- You're pathetic, because I beat you and *I* am pathetic. -- Piatri, slave of
Arsanj of Fratsfa

Travis T Flete -- The Commission adjudged your victory to be due to luck, and the
Commission was correct. -- M. Cotteral Chardinee
P.S. If it hadn't been for the litter of dropped initiatives in the sand which
caused me to trip, you would never have out-lasted me.

Kerman Jones -- A salute. Never let it be said that we of the Chardinee Society
cannot recognize a competent warrior. -- M. Cotteral Chardinee
