DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
I am proud to be back for the second time as Lyratiran's Duelmaster. It's a bummer
y'all that my teammate George Strait has moved on to AD. At least he went out with a
bang by killing Martin Shrew in the Dark Arena. Last turn was kind of odd for me. My
manager sent me to bloodfeud Julius Caesar, but he decided not to show up. I want my
revenge. Julius Caesar should be saying "Et tu Brute" after last turn. Instead, I
was challenged by Snooks Eaglin, who had the fighting style match-up he was presumably
seeking, and by all accounts should have beaten me (and he did last turn). But like I
told him in a personal ad last turn, I needed to lift some weights to beat him. Looks
like my time at the gym paid off.
Alright y'all, we have some new warriors coming into Lyratiran, and my Manager is
sending one of them to the Dark Arena. Any suggestions for your favorite country
singer that should be his replacement? My Manager is open to name suggestions.
Why am I still the most challenged warrior in Lyratiran? Like I said last time, I am
better than my record reflects. This turn, I am hoping to get my challenge through to
Heretic's Fork of Darque Ages. I am pretty sure taht Darque Ages' Manager is one of
the "old time" managers in Duel 2 like myself. It will be a test to see who is
Lyratiran's best lunger. I actually have better starting stats that the Exploiter,
Anklebiter and Afghan Rebel, all three of whom my Manager graduated from the Solven
Arena a couple of decades ago, and who are Top 100 warriors in Primus. I cannot
figure out why my record is so bad. Things need to change. As my song goes, "It's
time for a good time."

Well, what are you looking at, LYRATILAN? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Of course, we're all terribly impressed
to see PEARL win a fight and gain 19 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, NEMESIS beat
KILLING GROUND and KILLING GROUND lost 5 points. You're breakin' my heart. Looks
like LYRATILAN has some guts at least, ALAN JACKSON the Duelmaster was this turn's
most-challenged warrior. BABY FACE FOSTER challenged LYRATILAN's Duelmaster for a
shot at the throne. And if variety is the spice of life, LYRATILAN may be getting
bland, as ALAN JACKSON stays top dog in the city. I'm not in a very good mood today,
but why am I telling you this? You want to know what's new, don't you, LYRATILAN?
My mother always told me, 'If you don't have anything nice to say, start
talking.' I loved that woman. LYRATILAN, I am losing what little hope I had in you.
THE BLUES 25 the most avoided team? What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And who
led the way in this mass act of cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was
GONE COUNTRY. Ha ha ha ha!
Some people like volunteer work in the hospitals. I volunteer for LYRATILAN's
morgue. More variety. Titanium shields and bamboo daggers, guess what brave team is
developing these kinds of weapons?
I was about to buy a new quill pen the other day, but some fighter took it for
an epee. Forgive me for writing with a dagger. Phlllt! Just had to do that before
I leave the fine city of LYRATILAN. I feel much better now. Glad to see the back of
