You really think we can convince him to go back?" Panthro asked Jaga and Cheetara. "He hasn't been the same lately; I think he missed it," boldly stated Cheetara "Misses it? Do you remember why we left in the first place?" snorted Jaga. "He couldn't handle it anymore. He thought he could deal with the loss, but it boiled inside him until it exploded. Then we left, never to return. 'Never to return.' Those were his exact words. We three are all that is left from the original five. He couldn't handle it if he lost any of us. So don't try telling me that we can convince him to return. This discussion is over," commanded Jaga. "Don't you want to to..." asked Panthro. Before Panthro was able to continue, Jaga cut him off sharply. "It doesn't matter what I want or what you want. Can you manage a team?" Panthro gave up. "No." "How about you?" Jaga pointed at Cheetara. "No." Cheetara put her head down. Panthro eyed Jaga with defiance then sprang out of his chair and over the table at him. A lightning quick flick of Jaga's wrist sent Panthro sailing into the wall behind him. Panthro gingerly got to his feet, aided by Cheetara. "You've continued your training I see," stated Panthro with an air of obviousness. "Of course." Jaga didn't see anything wrong with that. "Why?" "I don't know." "Yes you do. I just want to hear you say it." "What do you want to hear me say? That I miss the arena like I am missing a limb? I dream of the sands every night? The cheers of the crowd are constant? It physcially hurts to no longer experience the sweet taste of victory? Is that what you want to hear? Well is it?" "Is it the truth?" Jaga sighed. He lacked the energy to continue the verbal spar. "Yes. Every word." "Good, because it wasn't me who wanted to hear it." Panthro pointed behind Jaga. Jaga spun around to find Balzar standing right behind him. Jaga immediately knelt down in a show of respect. "Forgive me my Lord. I had no knowledge that you were behind me. I apologize for my errant words. I will begin my punishment for speaking of Lyratilan." Jaga rose to his feet, eyes glued to the floor. "I don't think that will be necessary," Balzar said as he calmed Jaga with a hand on his shoulder. Jaga looked up, confused. Pendant and Bengaul entered the room behind Balzar. "I just had the most interesting converstaion with Pen and Ben. It appears that everyone wants to go back to the arena. I told them that it had to be unanimous. I told them you would not go, but it appears that is not true." Jaga looked behind Balzar at Pendant and Bengaul. They both nodded their approval. Jaga gazed around the room finally realizing that the secret meeting called by Panthro and Cheetara was for his benefit. "Isn't there something you should be doing Jaga?" "Punishment, I almost forgot my Lord." "No. How about packing. We leave at first light tomorrow," announced Balzar. SPY REPORT Hail and well met warriors of LYRATILAN! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team WE ARE SC was unseated this week as THUNDERCATS moved up from 2nd ranking to take the top spot with a 2-3-0 record for the round. Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner! Witness how this week SCARLET BLADES went 2-1-0 to move up 3 in the rankings. SABATOGE caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested VIRGINAL CONCUBINE and was awarded 17 points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, WHET put down ADVIL, causing him to lose 14 points of recognition in the process. This time out TRIMOX made his bid for the throne as he challenged SCARLET in an all out contest of skill for possession of the title! Although TRIMOX made a valiant effort, it did not suffice to topple the reign of victorious SCARLET. Informants "close" to the city champion have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out! But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades that is city LYRATILAN. My inside sources tell me that the team to beat in LYRATILAN these days is THUNDERCATS. At least, most blades in town are looking to avoid them. Methinks more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the better part of last week avoiding THUNDERCATS. Indeed it was ERRATA. Loose talk at the arena has reached my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many fighters are after BAYLEFYRE. Watch your back! Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more than its fair share of red in recent times. Some say a warrior is judged by the way he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt! If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times already in LYRATILAN. Nice atmosphere you have here! Ahh, but I can hear the spires of a far off city calling to me. I must away! Till next we meet remember - the pen is mightier than the sword, but a maul is a different story!-- Zontani Sharp Eyes DUELMASTER W L K POINTS TEAM NAME SCARLET 3928 20 13 2 110 SCARLET BLADES (328) CHALLENGER CHAMPIONS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME TRIMOX 4123 9 2 0 93 OSCO INTOXICATORS (346) CHAMPIONS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME BRON CHOLLU 4988 17 26 0 87 THE MIDDLE WAY 4 (464) SABATOGE 3724 9 3 0 85 MADTOWN (358) -PEROXIDE 2926 13 10 2 81 THE NATURALS (259) BAYLEFYRE 4373 7 2 0 74 BRETHREN OF SIN (408) WE LIKE THE MOON 5013 13 7 2 71 SPONGMONKEYS (467) JAGA 3638 10 14 0 67 THUNDERCATS (351) CHALLENGER ADEPTS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME BENGAUL 3815 8 5 1 64 THUNDERCATS (351) VELOND WOK 5006 14 8 0 57 THE MIDDLE WAY 4 (464) ADEPTS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME PANTHRO 3641 11 13 2 54 THUNDERCATS (351) DEATHBRINGER 3728 4 8 0 54 MADTOWN (358) -HONOUR 5002 10 12 0 50 CHAUCERS WORDS (452) K-DUR 4141 7 3 0 41 OSCO INTOXICATORS (346) PENDANT 3721 6 14 1 40 THUNDERCATS (351) -RICK O'SHEA 5028 4 0 1 39 FUNKY FOLK VI (469) PILL 4203 3 2 0 37 OSCO INTOXICATORS (346) -SEWERBEAST 4265 5 4 1 34 BRETHREN OF SIN (408) ADEPTS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME RED FALCON 4173 3 1 0 34 SCARLET BLADES (328) CHALLENGER INITIATES W L K POINTS TEAM NAME -MARCUS ALLEN 5052 5 2 0 33 WE ARE SC (472) -TERRY DONAHUE 5049 5 2 1 31 WE ARE SC (472) -SLACKER 4884 4 2 0 31 THE NATURALS (259) -GOLDEN DOMER 5050 4 2 0 28 WE ARE SC (472) CALLI GEIER 5023 6 9 0 27 THE MIDDLE WAY 4 (464) CUTTER 3726 6 7 1 26 MADTOWN (358) -JOHN ROBINSON 5048 4 3 0 26 WE ARE SC (472) -FOX 4077 2 0 0 26 FOOD CHAIN (394) INITIATES W L K POINTS TEAM NAME -ALBINO ASSASSIN 4817 3 9 0 22 THE NATURALS (259) FOOL? 4022 2 3 0 22 ERRATA (323) WHET 5060 2 0 0 22 HAMMER (474) BELTRAN FOSS 5038 2 6 0 22 THE MIDDLE WAY 4 (464) SPARK 4015 3 4 0 19 ERRATA (323) QUIA SALIAN 5032 4 6 0 18 THE MIDDLE WAY 4 (464) -JERI COE 5027 2 2 0 18 FUNKY FOLK VI (469) -SCUM DEVIL 5051 5 2 0 17 WE ARE SC (472) MENTAL 5075 1 1 1 16 ERRATA (323) THEODORIC 5081 1 0 1 15 MADTOWN (358) -TOASTY 5015 1 0 0 15 SPONGMONKEYS (467) -ZEPPELIN 5014 1 0 1 14 SPONGMONKEYS (467) -PEPPER BAAAR! 5016 1 0 0 13 SPONGMONKEYS (467) -LITE SLEEPER 4965 1 0 0 13 THE NATURALS (259) PAM PURRS 5078 1 1 0 12 FUNKY FOLK VI (469) BLANK 4133 2 3 1 10 ERRATA (323) RAELVIN 5080 2 0 0 10 THUNDERCATS (351) CRAZED 5076 0 2 0 10 ERRATA (323) -AVOR 4332 1 4 0 7 BRETHREN OF SIN (408) -JIVE 4391 1 0 0 6 BRETHREN OF SIN (408) ADVIL 5070 1 2 0 5 OSCO INTOXICATORS (346) STOMP 5063 0 2 0 2 HAMMER (474) -PUFFIN 5012 0 1 0 1 SPONGMONKEYS (467) '-' denotes a warrior who did not fight this turn. You want me to come back to this arena? I know your group isn't the brightest, but even you can see that without me in the arena you guys actually have a chance to at least think you dominate the arena. Why provoke me and destroy your alliances morale with the thought that I may actually come back here? And get a new manager name, Carnage is already taken. A few suggestions, Babbling Idiot, Mindless Flesh bag come to mind. Think about it. -- Ultraist P.S. If you're looking for me, I can be found always in 21, 36, and 103 All right, all right, we're late with these. It's next month already. What can I say? It takes a sustained effort. -- Calli Geier P.S. (wiggingly her eyebrows suggestively) We could practice the friction bit... privately. Scarlet -- You want to be Duel2Dudette? Fine, go for it. And, of course, being a Pridefolk would be absolutely feline. -- Bron Chollu Red Falcon -- I knew a red-tailed hawk once, but he was nothing like you. For one thing, he could fly.... -- Calli Geier Pill -- Aha! A win! Now THAT is intoxicating, and Osco has nothing to do with it. -- Velond Wok Jeri Coe -- I think it's your red hair. During the past 40+ cycles Hammer has been hosting the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups in DM 33. Thus far only the Ripper and Slasher categories have produced winners to claim the 5 New Team Roll Ups Prize for being the first declared Style Master of their respective categories to graduate. Every contending stable has gone inactive for one reason or another, including CASINO HAMMERZ, over the past several months. Now DM 33 faces the harsh reality that if RSI chooses to close any arenas due to little or no interest, Niytyole Island could very well head the list of endangered regular arenas! In an effort to preserve his beloved island, Hammer is announcing the continuation of the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups; combined with the Hammer 500 which will conclude both contests on T-500 [duedate July 13, 2005] should DM 33 continue to remain open in the coming months. Attention Hammer Runners! The Hammer Run is for 0 FE Basic Arena Warriors ONLY. Participants MUST Be Declared in the P-ads On or Before their First DM 33 Basic Arena Fight to Qualify as a Hammer Runner! Winners of Each Category will receive 5 New Team Roll Up Gift Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! [On the condition that they Graduate on or before T-500; see amended rules below!] The following Style Master categories remain open with a listing of how many declared contestants are still entered and their W/L recognition record at the time of their disappearance from the Hammer Run competition: (P-ad declarations in parenthesis) [Manager name/Stable name in brackets] followed by their last known W/L recognition ranking Rippers Category Now Closed for Hammer Run as of T-475 01. The purpose of this contest is to restore DM 33 to a lively and entertaining arena! Hammer is willing to foot the Prize bill in a last ditch effort to save Niytyole Island from deletion if RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission decide that more arenas need to be closed due to lack of participation and interest. Should this effort fail to spare DM 33 from deletion, then Hammer is prepared to transfer CASINO HAMMERZ to another arena if Niytyole Island is closed by RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission.
