"Five years is a long time. You really think we can convince
him to go back?" Panthro asked Jaga and Cheetara.
"He hasn't been the same lately; I think he missed it," boldly
stated Cheetara
"Misses it? Do you remember why we left in the first place?"
snorted Jaga.
"He couldn't handle it anymore. He thought he could deal with
the loss, but it boiled inside him until it exploded. Then we left,
never to return. 'Never to return.' Those were his exact words. We
three are all that is left from the original five. He couldn't handle it if
he lost any of us. So don't try telling me that we can convince him
to return. This discussion is over," commanded Jaga.
"Don't you want to to..." asked Panthro. Before Panthro was
able to continue, Jaga cut him off sharply.
"It doesn't matter what I want or what you want. Can you
manage a team?"
     Panthro gave up. "No."
"How about you?" Jaga pointed at Cheetara.
"No." Cheetara put her head down. Panthro eyed Jaga with
defiance then sprang out of his chair and over the table at him. A
lightning quick flick of Jaga's wrist sent Panthro sailing into the wall
behind him. Panthro gingerly got to his feet, aided by Cheetara.
"You've continued your training I see," stated Panthro with an
air of obviousness.
"Of course." Jaga didn't see anything wrong with that.
     "Why?"
     "I don't know."
"Yes you do. I just want to hear you say it."
"What do you want to hear me say? That I miss the arena like
I am missing a limb? I dream of the sands every night? The
cheers of the crowd are constant? It physcially hurts to no longer
experience the sweet taste of victory? Is that what you want to
hear? Well is it?"
     "Is it the truth?"
Jaga sighed. He lacked the energy to continue the verbal spar.
"Yes. Every word."
"Good, because it wasn't me who wanted to hear it." Panthro
pointed behind Jaga. Jaga spun around to find Balzar standing
right behind him. Jaga immediately knelt down in a show of
respect.
"Forgive me my Lord. I had no knowledge that you were behind
me. I apologize for my errant words. I will begin my punishment for
speaking of Lyratilan." Jaga rose to his feet, eyes glued to the
floor.
"I don't think that will be necessary," Balzar said as he calmed
Jaga with a hand on his shoulder.
     Jaga looked up, confused.
Pendant and Bengaul entered the room behind Balzar. "I just
had the most interesting converstaion with Pen and Ben. It
appears that everyone wants to go back to the arena. I told them
that it had to be unanimous. I told them you would not go, but it
appears that is not true."
Jaga looked behind Balzar at Pendant and Bengaul. They both
nodded their approval. Jaga gazed around the room finally realizing
that the secret meeting called by Panthro and Cheetara was for his
benefit.
"Isn't there something you should be doing Jaga?"
"Punishment, I almost forgot my Lord."
"No. How about packing. We leave at first light tomorrow,"
announced Balzar.

                                      SPY REPORT

Hail and well met warriors of LYRATILAN! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp
Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team WE ARE SC was
unseated this week as THUNDERCATS moved up from 2nd ranking to take the top spot with
a 2-3-0 record for the round. Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the
corner! Witness how this week SCARLET BLADES went 2-1-0 to move up 3 in the
rankings. SABATOGE caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he
skillfully bested VIRGINAL CONCUBINE and was awarded 17 points in recognition. In
one of the week's more notable duels, WHET put down ADVIL, causing him to lose 14
points of recognition in the process. This time out TRIMOX made his bid for the
throne as he challenged SCARLET in an all out contest of skill for possession of the
title! Although TRIMOX made a valiant effort, it did not suffice to topple the reign
of victorious SCARLET. Informants "close" to the city champion have told me that he
never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city LYRATILAN. My inside sources tell me that the team to beat in LYRATILAN
these days is THUNDERCATS. At least, most blades in town are looking to avoid them.
Methinks more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the better part
of last week avoiding THUNDERCATS. Indeed it was ERRATA. Loose talk at the arena
has reached my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many fighters are after
BAYLEFYRE. Watch your back!
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Some say a warrior is judged by the way
he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!
If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times
already in LYRATILAN. Nice atmosphere you have here! Ahh, but I can hear the spires
of a far off city calling to me. I must away! Till next we meet remember - the pen
is mightier than the sword, but a maul is a different story!-- Zontani Sharp Eyes

Carnage returning manager of Madtown and newest member of the sewing circle -- Think
about what you're saying. You want me to come back to this arena? I know your group
isn't the brightest, but even you can see that without me in the arena you guys
actually have a chance to at least think you dominate the arena. Why provoke me and
destroy your alliances morale with the thought that I may actually come back here?
And get a new manager name, Carnage is already taken. A few suggestions, Babbling
Idiot, Mindless Flesh bag come to mind. Think about it. -- Ultraist
P.S. If you're looking for me, I can be found always in 21, 36, and 103

All right, all right, we're late with these. It's next month already. What can I
say? We ate too much. -- Leeta, The Middle Way

Spark -- You're definitely a bright one, but you need staying power! A single spark
doesn't light a fire, you know. It takes a sustained effort. -- Calli Geier
P.S. (wiggingly her eyebrows suggestively) We could practice the friction bit...
privately.

Scarlet -- You want to be Duel2Dudette? Fine, go for it. Better you than me, and I
wish you well of it. -- Bron Chollu
P.S. They don't call it "the hot seat" for nothing, you know. You're up there like
a target.

Deathbringer -- Fine, you brought it. I didn't want it. Now you can take it away.
-- Velond Wok, not feeling patient at the moment

Terry Donahue -- You're a Scimitar? Funny, you don't LOOK like one. -- Quia Salia

Marcus Allen -- You took the win AND (wailing) ALL the skills? -- Beltran Foss
P.S. Well, except one, and that hardly counts.

Current stuff--

Jaga -- Explain to me, if you would be so good, how you can be a thundercat if you
aren't a Pridefolk or even Aruaki? Inquiring Minds want to know, and me, too. I
think you'd be much more effective if you were at least Aruaki. More convincing.
And, of course, being a Pridefolk would be absolutely feline. -- Bron Chollu

Red Falcon -- I knew a red-tailed hawk once, but he was nothing like you. For one
thing, he could fly.... -- Calli Geier

Pill -- Aha! A win! Now THAT is intoxicating, and Osco has nothing to do with it.
-- Velond Wok

Jeri Coe -- I think it's your red hair. It makes you too impatient. Pacing, that's
the secret. -- Beltran Foss
P.S. If you would care to join me for lunch, I could tell you more secrets.

Advil -- No, I will NOT take you for my aches and pains which YOU caused! Aspirin,
the plain and simple miracle drug, will do for me. -- Quia Salian

Deathbringer -- Nah, you were just unlucky. -- Velond Wok
P.S. It's my style, probably. I just slipped in under the wire, because a little
later Leeta made a vow not to enroll more of my style for some indefinite but long
period of time. And I simply wouldn't have been good at anything else.

Carnage -- Ultraist's in Sunset, if you're hunting for him. -- Leeta, The Middle Way

Scarlet -- It seems to have worked. Ouch. -- Bron Chollu

Rick O'Shea -- You have dishonored your stable by going inactive and thus alllowing
no bloodfeud. -- Raelvin

Sabatoge -- Leave me alone. -- Panthro

Cutter -- Sorry for beating you, but I didn't even try. -- Pendant

We are SC -- Who else do you want me to beat? -- Bengaul

Scarlet -- I'll see you soon. -- Jaga

Azereth -- How did you get into T.C.B.? Was there an entrance exam? -- Balzar, hates
to study manager of Thundercats

Hammer -- Timing guys? -- Balzar, nosey manager of Thundercats

Scarlet waz not impressed (or maybe too impressed?) with her manager's new warrior
named Alexis. Why this new girl hadn't even fought yet and Azereth was showering her
with gifts and attention. At least that Vapire Draco was gone! He gave me the
creeps! I'm surprised Azereth let him go. But wait...what is this? She has fangs!
Ahhh...that explains it. Azereth has traded one vampire for another. Ohh...what
does he see in her? I'm his best warrior! I'm a Duelmaster! I'm the most popular
warrior in Lytratilan! Why doesn't he give me gifts and attention!

Hammer 500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups
                                  Hosted by Hammer

Niytyole Island DM 33 has dwindled to the point where as of T-482 [duedate
November 3, 2004] there were only 2 active stables listed with 3 inactive stables in
a once thriving and lively regular arena.
During the past 40+ cycles Hammer has been hosting the Hammer Run for the Roll
Ups in DM 33.
Thus far only the Ripper and Slasher categories have produced winners to claim
the 5 New Team Roll Ups Prize for being the first declared Style Master of their
respective categories to graduate.
Every contending stable has gone inactive for one reason or another, including
CASINO HAMMERZ, over the past several months.
Now DM 33 faces the harsh reality that if RSI chooses to close any arenas due to
little or no interest, Niytyole Island could very well head the list of endangered
regular arenas!
In an effort to preserve his beloved island, Hammer is announcing the
continuation of the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups; combined with the Hammer 500 which
will conclude both contests on T-500 [duedate July 13, 2005] should DM 33 continue to
remain open in the coming months.
     Attention Hammer Runners!
The Hammer Run is for 0 FE Basic Arena Warriors ONLY. Participants MUST Be
Declared in the P-ads On or Before their First DM 33 Basic Arena Fight to Qualify as
a Hammer Runner! Winners of Each Category will receive 5 New Team Roll Up Gift
Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! [On the condition that they
Graduate on or before T-500; see amended rules below!]
The following Style Master categories remain open with a listing of how many
declared contestants are still entered and their W/L recognition record at the time
of their disappearance from the Hammer Run competition:

STYLE MASTER CONTESTANTS WILL BE AWARDED TWO (2) GIFT CERTS AND ALL OTHER PRIZE
CATEGORIES WILL BE DECLARED NULL AND VOID BY HAMMER!!!!!!!!!
The purpose of this contest is to restore DM 33 to a lively and entertaining
arena!
Hammer is willing to foot the Prize bill in a last ditch effort to save Niytyole
Island from deletion if RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission decide that more arenas
need to be closed due to lack of participation and interest.
Should this effort fail to spare DM 33 from deletion, then Hammer is prepared to
transfer CASINO HAMMERZ to another arena if Niytyole Island is closed by RSI and the
Gladiatorial Commission.

available. The rules are simple. The scoring is simple. The updates are live. If
you would like to participate, simply get a team ready in Talcama in the next month
