TEAM SPOTLIGHT
+ ]H[ + ---:--- + ]H[ A Wolf at the Door ]H[ + ---:--- + ]H[ +
Davia Hannas had spent a month reading old records and asking questions of
priests and natural philosophers that got her strange looks, but she hadn't found out
anything that would explain the presence of true wolves in the area. Other places,
at this time of year, well, sure. A natural. But the Lyratilan area, and in fact
most of the Aruaki Clanholds, no. There seemed to be a hesitant consensus that
wolves didn't like being around shapeshifters, but nobody even tried to GUESS why,
much less KNEW. And she couldn't think of anybody else to ask.
Unless there was a way to ask the wolves themselves.
Where had that thought come from? Totally off the wall, or outside the box, or
something. Nobody talked to wolves. Especially, werewolves didn't.
But then, wolves didn't come to Lyratilan, but...they were here. So maybe there
would be some chance to communicate with them, if she went where they were. It was
worth a try.
She closed the journal in which she had been making notes on her research and
stood, looking around her room at the top of the Middle Way guildhouse. She had just
made a momentous decision, or reached an earth-shaking conclusion, or something like
that, and everything still looked the same. How strange.
She shook her head and reached for her cloak. Time to go find herself a wolf
and ask questions. And it was cold outside; some Narsh Utur could change into a wolf
at will.
SPY REPORT
It is I, Novgorodny Vir, Spymaster of Spymasters. Look on my work, ye mighty,
and despair! Nothing is certain in LYRATILAN, with changing loyalties, changing
Duelmasters. Write this down: new top team--THE MIDDLE WAY 4. Practice pays for
HARMONY, who pummelled PUPPET, to pocket 20 points. PUPPET certainly had a baffled
expression on his face, after losing to HARMONY and losing 16 points in the process!
Well, Duelmaster GIGLIE challenged THE MIDDLE WAY 4's ERHLIE FAY. Is a 27-5-0 good
enough? What can be a greater victory? ERHLIE FAY has taken hers place as the top,
as LYRATILAN's new Duelmaster. Word has it one team in LYRATILAN is taking speech
lessons to try to bore their opponent to death. I'll bet it works.
A Zenmaster once told me, 'Does not the spinning wheel turn? And do not the
little birds cry out?' Any ideas? Like the noble eagle soaring amongst the
mountaintops, so stand the warriors of THE MIDDLE WAY 4, alone and unchallenged.
Like a pup with its tail between its legs, ERRATA scurried away from THE MIDDLE WAY
4. Oh, the shame! Everyone is famous for fifteen minutes, and WHITE SPIDER is it
right now. Most challenged warrior. Isn't BARHOPPERS proud!
Ah, the duel! The roar of the oppenent, the smell of the crowd! The audience
gave a nice round of rasberries to SENDI UBOL of THE MIDDLE WAY 4, for expiring in
such an ungraceful fashion. 6-5-1, indeed! Death (in the form of KHALHUMS DWARF of
LYRATILAN) knocked on MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE's door. What will NOT FOR ME do? The
suspense is killing me. Charity is unknown in LYRATILAN, and rightly so. BARHOPPERS
exacted their revenge against THE MIDDLE WAY 4. Questions are being raised about the
disposing of severed body parts in the arena. A certain tavern in LYRATILAN would I
avoid!
Do not think spyreporting in LYRATILAN is the highlight of my life. As the
seasons change, and the creatures of the wild change also, so do I feel a yearning to
leave this place. Like a mixed metaphor, and an overtaxed simile, I now bid
LYRATILAN farewell-- Novgorodny Vir

Giglie -- To think, after today, I won't have to hear that...that TITTER of yours
again! Nor the guffaw that follows once your giggle gets the stares you are angling
for. Hey, if it amuses you, well, it does me no harm, so go for it.
I considered doing the "off to the Isle" thing as Bikini Line just did, but...I
don't think so. I think there is enough going on here to keep my busy. For
instance, I can nip at the heels of our guild clerk and find out "what happens next."
-- Davia Hannas, who always wanted to star in an adventure and is not going to pass
up the chance now
White Spider -- Since you're officially Narsh Utur, does that make you a wolf spider?
Inquiring minds want to know before letting you anywhere near the tuffets. -- Erhlie
Fay
P.S. Tuffets have to be protected, you see. They're much more delicate than you
might think.
P.P.S. No, really? You don't like hospitals? Gosh, neither do *I*! What
congruence in taste. It must be significant.
Vince -- You aren't very cooperative, are you? All I wanted there was a chance to
nip your neck, suck a little blood, and call it dinner, with a good time had by all,
etc. But did you hold still? No! And you have to hold still, or I end up doing a
LOT of secondary damage, which is NOT what I go for. It annoys people so much, you
know, and I like everything smooth and easy. -- X. Rolph Tupp
Ghost of Capt Morgan -- How could you DIE? You just STOOD there, dammit, and let me
hit you again and again! But listen, if you hadn't grabbed me right there at the
first, almost GRAPPLING with me, I would've danced around and done the "threatening-
gesture" stuff for a while, and you would have been fine and maybe...gosh, you might
have killed ME. Oh. Well, looked at from that angle, I suppose...I guess I didn't
have any choice. But I still wish you hadn't died. -- Sendi Ubol
Harmony -- (woeful, wounded, reproachful look) I hate it when that happens. -- Ghost
of Chassia Gorene

The Council of Lords would like to propose a rule change in ADM and Primus. We
propose that Lord Protectors ranked "Grand Champions" and below (ADM) and "The Tower
Guard" and below (Primus) be allowed to fight in the Dark Arena. This would not
impact the top rankings or title match. Any managers who never got his fill or shot
at fighting Gateway monsters would have it as an option. We believe it might spark
some interest in the ADM/Primus realm for some managers. If interested, speak up in
the newsletters or on forums under the "rules changes" thread and let RSI know. This
could even be something to try for 12 months and then be re-evaluated. What say you,
managers of Ghea? -- The Icelord sends....

HDFA Mission Statement
"Show me the money!"
This is the battle cry of a newly formed collection of like-minded individuals:
The High Dolla' Free Agent$. We are not a tough guy alliance: No...we offer no
battle without reward. We search for victory and the prizes and accolades that
follow. We are motivated by winning and will freely use whatever means necessary to
obtain our currency. No stuffy rules, no mandates, no constitutions, no leaders,
only a few objectives:
1) Win as often as possible
2) Celebrate freely and revel in your victories; the more meaningless the
victory the more we celebrate. Highsiding and chest thumping are encouraged.
Ostentatious endzone celebrations with prop usage are encouraged, regardless of
fines, penalties, suspensions or arrest by local authorities. It is important to let
your opponent know how great you are; more importantly, you must let your own
alliance mates know how great you are.
This is a 1-up alliance, let the performance of your fellow Free Agent$ motivate
you. If a Free Agent wins a TV, win 2; if a Free agent wins a contest, win a more
prestigious one.
Current members of the HDFA include: CFH and Abraxis. Inquires can be directed
