Everyone in the guildhouse common room looked up at Elindor. She was holding a
newspaper. Shaking it the way a cat shakes a rat. Those members of the team who
were werewolves drew back slightly. The motion was involuntary and automatic.
Somewhere in the canine portion of their souls, a newspaper, raised and shaken in the
air, was a Bad Sign.
Rolph, secure in the knowledge that you can't use a newspaper to stake a
vampire, shrugged. "The latest Andorian Star? I don't go into the kind of places
where that scandal-sheet is sold."
"You would if you ate normal food!" Elindor snapped. "And it isn't a scandal-
sheet. Not if the scandals are real and important."
"They may be real," Rolph said. As a vampire, he felt that cynicism was
required of him. "But they probably aren't important."
"Read the part that's got you stirred up," Foirene suggested.

In an interview yesterday, Senator Sedalia stated that he had gone to Andor with
the intention of requesting the King's aid for the coastal areas battered by the
dramatic and tempestuous waves resulting from the sinking of Krael.
"I and my colleagues felt that the devastation along the coast is properly a
matter for the King's attention," the senator and lord protector said. "We did not
go seeking a hand-out, but only a helping hand."
A spokesman at the Royal Palace, who declined to identify himself when queried
on Sedalia's visit, said that the matter had been "taken under advisement." No
further development of this position could be obtained in Andor.
Senator Sedalia's manager, Lenpro of Iaye, told this reporter that, "We will
pursue this matter."
Anyone with information that might be of assistance is invited to communicate
with the Andorian Star office.
Elindor lowered the paper and looked at her teammates. "What do you think?"
"That it isn't anything to do with us," Foirene answered promptly. "We aren't on the coast, after all."
"But we've got problems that the king should maybe pay attention to," Elindor
said. "The shapeshifter plague--"
"It didn't hit us as badly as it did the cats," Foirene said. "Nowhere near as
badly. So that dog won't hunt."
"I've been noticing a bunch of vampires around lately," Trellin said suddenly.
She was careful not to look at Rolph, and her voice was so smooth and cool that
butter wouldn't have melted in her mouth. "This might be a sign of something wrong
here, don't you think?"

Well, well, well. Looky here. Two turns in a row. I'd never have thunk it. And I
know the boss wouldn't have imagined it either. This deserves SOME form of extra
compensation from him. Two for one happy hour maybe? Half price well drinks? Buy
one, get one shots? I'll have to work on it. I know Apex has been talking about
opening up a pub here, maybe he'll work it into a part ownership for me. *SLAP*
What am I thinking. He ain't a gonna do that!!! He's way too cheap. I might get to
scrub the floors with a toothbrush. That wouldn't be past him. Oh well. I guess
we'll all have to wait and see!! Regards!

and you get put on hit lists. Now let's all watch MASTERS OF SIN's heads swell from
their 3-1-0 this turn. Haa ha ha ha! Big shots, big talk, big deal. Of course,
we're all terribly impressed to see PINOT NOIR win a fight and gain 15 points,
terribly. Tsk, tsk, ELINDOR IMARDA beat SHOOTER GIRL and SHOOTER GIRL lost 4 points.
You're breakin' my heart. And if variety is the spice of life, LYRATILAN may be
getting bland, as KEG STAND stays top dog in the city. I'm not in a very good mood
today, but why am I telling you this? You want to know what's new, don't you,
LYRATILAN?
He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day, the coward. FUNKY
FOLK, I suppose you'll be glad to know you were this turn's most avoided team. Care
to know who is the most afraid of you? And it looks like BARHOPPERS avoided them the
most this turn. What a pack of would be losers, if you ask me. Hmph. FOIRENE ILMER
was challenged more times this turn than the Duelmaster. Now was the DM insulted or
feared? Heh, heh.
Some people like volunteer work in the hospitals. I volunteer for LYRATILAN's
morgue. More variety. Bye bye, warrior, bye bye... FOIRENE ILMER, a glorious
8-12-1 fighter, has passed away. Gee, too bad THE MIDDLE WAY 4. And what a stunning
loss we have here, boys and girls, PROF. PLUM of GOTTA GET A CLUE has added the final
loss to his 5-8-0. Tee hee! Not that I'll be buying the drinks, but I'll be glad to
see BLOODFEUD MAN and MASTERS OF SIN at The Piper's Rest tonight celebrating their
bloodfeud victory over PINOT GRIGIO. Titanium shields and bamboo daggers, guess what
brave team is developing these kinds of weapons?
What does the LYRATILAN arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Phlllt! Just had to do that
