TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Okay, you guys, listen up! Jorja's got this horrible new kick--I hope it
doesn't last!--and here's the deal. We make Top Team, we do a spotlight. Is this
cruel and unusual, or what? We sweat and we bleed and we pull off three fairly good
turns in a row, and then we have to WRITE something? I gotta tell you, the
consternation in our guildhouse was so thick, you could've cut it with a chainsaw.
And then, to make matters WORSE, all my teammates turned to look at me--four
pairs of beady eyes is a lot too many when you can feel the axe just WAITING to drop
on your neck. And they said, "Kolter, you're the Popularity Leader and This Week's
Favorite, so YOU can do it."
Gah. This is worse than being duelmaster and having to do a column! Even just
personals... some weeks that's an uphill struggle all by itself. I'm a werewolf of
few words.
But it came to me in a flash: I'm popular, I'm a big favorite, and my teammates
have handed me... some kind of authority. So I'm having a party. You're all
invited. The moon is fading down to new (Thursday, that'll be), so inadvertent
lycanthropy will not be a problem. Advertent shape changes are another matter, and I
ask you guys to keep it in check, okay?
There'll be food, lots of meat, some of it cooked rare, a few miscellaneous
veggies for the fully human among you. Drinks--not alcohol, a werewolf should avoid
alcohol even at the new moon and there's no point in tempting people. Music and
singing and dancing. No parlor games, I hate those things, but maybe some games in
dark corners.
All this stuff, and very likely more.
If you mention in the newsletter that you'd like to come, you can. I'll cover
the dirty details, well, not the dirtiest ones, but some of 'em, whenever next I'm
forced by circumstances to write something here--spotlight, duelmaster's column,
maybe even a series of long, juicy personals.

turn and deserves to be watched in the future. You never know where this kind of
thing can lead. And let's see, MRS. PEACOCK fought ISEK KROL and gained 28 points
and contributed to GOTTA GET A CLUE's 3-1-0. KOLTER NEETHE has lost to KHALHUMS
DWARF, falling 11 points, while helping make THE MIDDLE WAY 4 a 1-4-0 turn.
Defending its title for another turn, THE LEAD PIPE kept THE MIDDLE WAY 4's warrior,
URBIN YATES, from claiming the throne. Tell me, is nothing sacred? I have heard
from unimpeachable sources that The Piper's Rest uses trolls in their stew. Talk
