Kolter Neethe looked at the wreckage on the lawn, well, in the fenced yard
behind the guildhouse where they worked out, and just shook his head helplessly. The
trampled snow had been churned into a muddy slush, highlighted by scarlet
bloodstains. "I don't know what happened," he repeated.
"Some werewolf got carried away," Gilgamesh suggested. "It happens."
"But the moon wasn't full!"
"And the killer may not have been a werewolf," Isek Krol added.
"Of course it was! Look at the tracks--"
"I've got a feeling it was an ordinary wolf," Krol went on. "You know, hairy
with big teeth, four feet on the ground, tail, pointed ears, the whole works, all
month long."
"But--"
"This area has more than its share of natural wolves," Krol said. "And you had
barbecue that could smelled for a mile." He grinned, showing his own teeth. "Just
be glad it wasn't... bears!"

we're all terribly impressed to see MRS. PEACOCK win a fight and gain 25 points,

You're breakin' my heart. SUE CHURZ Dark Arena Challenged TOMBSTONE for LYRATILAN's
Title this turn, and guess what happened? The crowds were amazed this turn, as
TOMBSTONE killed the Duelmaster, SUE CHURZ, leaving FUNKY FOLK in mourning. This
incredible death has allowed, I might add, THE LEAD PIPE from GOTTA GET A CLUE to
ascend to the throne of Duelmaster, and I hear DARK ARENA is not happy. Kickbacks
and bribes, kickbacks and bribes, how else do you think some of these guys win their
fights? Skill? Ha!
He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day, the coward.
LYRATILAN, I am losing what little hope I had in you. THE BLUE HOTEL the most
avoided team? What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And who led the way in this
mass act of cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was ERRATA. Ha ha ha ha!
Ooh, I'm frightfully impressed, THE HALLWAY was this turn's most challenged warrior.

Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. FUNKY FOLK has cause to pause today, as
SAM SUNG was sent to the Dark Arena, and came back--though not in the best of moods,
I'll wager. And one more turn will show if SERPENTS HOLD can successfully bloodfeud
that elusive THE LEAD PIPE over INDIGO. We're all going to die in the end, so why
worry if the fate catches up with you sooner that later?
What does the LYRATILAN arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Well, I've had enough of this
drivel, and I'm sure you have too. Off like a dirty shirt of padded leather. Paste
