SPY REPORT
Busy, busy, busy, lots of things happening in CALEAM this turn, and let's start
with a look at some of the teams. SHERWOOD FOREST stable has parlayed this turn's
3-0-0 into a 3 space move up the rankings. This brings them up to 4th place. Good
work, guys! On their very first turn, PARADISE THEATRE had a 3-0-0, and with this
kind of luck or skill, should do well. Welcome to CALEAM. And let's see, R'AKA
fought JUICEA and gained 24 points and contributed to THE DREADLANDS' 1-0-1.
HAMMERFALL has lost to POPPA LODE, falling 18 points, while helping make HEADBANGERS
a 0-5-0 turn. Well done, CALEAM, the Duelmaster was this turn's most challenged
warrior. Perhaps FIRE is not as thrilled, being challenged 2 times. SPLINTER
challenged for the Duelmastership this turn, attempting to dethrone SEEING RED's
warrior. Defending his title for another turn, FIRE kept HEADBANGERS' warrior,
SPLINTER, from claiming the throne. Tell me, is nothing sacred? I have heard from
unimpeachable sources that The Warty Toad uses trolls in their stew. Talk about
gristle!
He who challenges well, fights well. He who avoids without cause, shall lose
for good reasons. My mama told me that one. HEADBANGERS has cause to stand tall, as
they were CALEAM's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team to beat.
And avoiding HEADBANGERS more than any other team we find SHERWOOD FOREST. CALEAM,
are we going to accept, or respect this sort of thing? In a fit of brilliance or of
stupidity (hard to say sometimes), DOOMSDAY challenged SAILOR VENUS today, facing a
33 difference in recognition. Sad to say, DOOMSDAY lost to SAILOR VENUS, and the
attempt ended up costing DOOMSDAY 0 recognition points.
A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man only once. Wise men know this to
be true. JAW BREAKER must have surprised HOME LIFE this turn, after they sent him to
the Dark Arena, but the Dark Arena couldn't hold him! Hearty mugs of ale were raised
in CALEAM today as JUICEA was bid farewell to a 7-4-2 warrior, with R'AKA of THE
DREADLANDS standing silent and pensive. Is it really true that CALEAM has more
dishwashers per capita that fighters? Just thought I'd ask...
Thought for the day, a new sword shines bright, but the notched sword sings the
sweetest. Well, I'm burning daylight here in CALEAM and I've a long road ahead of
me. Happy Trails. Until the sun next rises and my pen sets to paper-- Alarond the

Go-Fer -- It's a bloodfeud, what did you expect? -- Doomsday
Fire -- Let's try that just one more time.... -- Splinter
Poppa Lode -- Pretty one sided for a change against you. You must be starting to
become Grandpapa Lode.... -- Hammerfall
Freak -- Us sophisticated girls have no time to waste on Freaks.... -- Rosie
Papaiz -- I see you wasted no time in challenging Koribus. Happy now? -- SOV
Koribus -- Sorry big guy, but when you teach up to three skills per turn, and I don't
have to worry about dying, I just fail to see how it is a "bad" challenge. Is it
dirty and rotten? Sure. I just wonder if you will start to use your other avoids on
Papaiz's three teams if he continues to plaster you now? At the very least I wrote
PA's to you each turn and tried to make it somewhat fun. At least as much fun as you
can have losing. Hope you can understand, if not agree. -- Splinter
Leeta -- Dang, you really made me feel bad.... My deepest apologies. -- SOV/
Kellumbo
SoV -- I'll take you up on that, but as I said, I won't be here much longer. As you
can see, I am revamping my teams here. As time goes on and more of my guys hit the
top of their individual classes, they will sit. -- Papaiz
All -- SoV knows how much I hate writing PAs, so you all better appreciate this....
-- Papaiz
Leeta -- As you can see, you won't be taking any loses to Onyx and Tuk Adow any time
soon. Hehe! -- Papaiz
SoV -- You asked? Here is why.... Flimsy, morning star ...blah..., low, low, bash,
learns defense. I was thinking, any half decent weapon and I'll run him in 105, but
instead he gets retirement. I won't give you his stats, cause it's a trade secret,
but he's +4 decise, +4 initiative and +4 defense. Rip and Par unknown. -- Papaiz
SoV -- What about you? You going to the FtF? -- Papaiz
Leeta -- I appreciate the effort you put into this arena time after time. As I said
before, you are a pleasure to have here and I would not like it any other way. Now
that I am finished sucking up.... Can you kick that roll up machine a couple times?
Anyone need a 3 WT, 5 WL roll up? -- Papaiz
Sablo-O-Vlad -- I wish I could triumphantly claim that Blue Ring Octopus is the up-
and-coming thing, but she wasn't heavily blessed and had a mediocre fave rhythm (mod-
low). The fave weapon is nice (scimitar), but that's about it. A TC to Caleam?
That's a lofty goal, son, but I don't think it's unattainable. TVs should doable.
Who's going to help me out?-- Lord Fang
Leeta -- Thanks for the info, son! Every little bit helps. -- Lord Fang
Blood Moon -- Give me rematch in a few turns and the outcome will be very different!
-- Cane Toad
P.S. I hope.
De De Mao -- A valiant effort. -- Ruby
Sailor Venus -- Now I must say that's more of a performance that I would expect, but
losing still stinks. -- Blackadder
Bouncer -- You certainly did the bouncing. -- Lionfish
Doomsday -- Yeah, yeah, I know. Bloodfeud, and you have a right to do it. I'm not
arguing with that, but cheese, man, I didn't do it on purpose! As if I could! -- Go-
Fer, feeling unreasonably ill-used, not a new experience
Flimsy (and Papaiz and also Sablon-O-Vlad) -- Have you got any tourney fights?
Because if not, while I know that your respective rankings make it technically a
down-challenge (to Koribus), the fact that Koribus went into that match with fifty-
six fights to your twenty IS a factor. My warriors are renowned throughout Alastari
for climbing the ranking ladder at the slowest possible speed: one point for a loss,
three for a win. This makes them great teachers and attractive targets. I can live
with that. It's the challenge in Solven that really got my goat--Sablon-O-Vlad knows
which one I mean. My warriors don't go to tourneys, ever, and what you see is
absolutely the experience they have. -- Leeta
Hammerfall -- Dang. I was still using those ribs. -- Poppa Lode
Pink -- That is NOT your color. Your complexion is too dark to be flattered by a
delicate pink; it just makes you look dirty, though I am sure you are not. Try
something more in the line of a vibrant magenta, or maybe fuschia or cyclamen. --
Miss Priss
Lionfish -- Gods, I hate those voices in the stands. What do THEY know? -- Bouncer
P.S. Of course, this time, they were right, but still. Buttinskis.
P.P.S. So, how come you're not a Fish? Nothing wrong with being a Fish. Leeta's
been threatening, er, promising to hire a Fish any day now.
Splinter -- You're just saying that in the hopes of getting an autographed copy of my
tome, Skills for the Gladiator, a Compendium. -- Professor Koribus

Youngblood's Three and Out Contest
I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what
I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before,
here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a
chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see
fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules
(like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later).
1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only.
2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.)
3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts.
4. All warriors will run until they lose three times, after three losses they are
eliminated.
5. If a warrior sits out a turn, they are accounted with a loss in the contest.
This is to keep warriors with winning records from sitting out until the end of
the contest.
6. If a warrior is killed during the contest, the replacement cannot enter the
contest.
7. If a warrior is killed, bloodfeuding is allowed, but only by a warrior that is
active in the contest.
8. If a warrior is run after being eliminated, the manager is disqualified from the
contest, no questions asked.
9. Challenges are legal, up or down.
10. Contest will keep going until 1 warrior is left without three losses, and that
warrior, of course, is accounted the winner.
11. All managers participating will be asked to purchase a rollup certificate, to be
awarded to the winners of the contest.
<<<PRIZES>>>
As I have already said, and according to participation, rollups will be awarded
to the first and second place managers. So the majority and minority of the rollups
will be determined when all are accumulated.
Contest Champion--2 Faves prizes, and majority of rollup certificates
Contest Runner-up--1 Faves prize, and minority of rollup certificates
So once again I invite all managers old and new to participate in what should be
a fierce and challenging contest. <<<REMEMBER, FIRST OFFICIAL TURN OF THE CONTEST IS
DECEMBER THE FIRST, AND AS I SAID BEFORE, THE TURN BEFORE (NOVEMBER 17TH) YOU MAY
DARK ARENA CHALLENGE ONLY!!! ANY WARRIOR WITH ANY FE (FIGHT EXPERIENCE) WHEN THE
CONTEST STARTS WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE CONTEST.

All you alliance-type people, I'm trying (again!) to get my alliance listing correct
and up to date. Either send me a diplo (address it to The Saint) or send your
updates to me directly at Sue at solberg-mathews.com. As you may guess, replace the
at with @ and you're good to go (I do hate spammy mail and this will end up on the
web).
I have information on the following alliances: ADIO, Allied Axis, Armada,
Brotherhood of Justice, Brotherhood of the Blade, Cadre, CDC, Chaos, Inc., Circle of
Order, Company of Brothers, Consortium, Council of Lords, Couple Good Guys, Crimson
Vengeance, DOA, DOOMcorps, Enigmafia, Eurosquad, Fascist Federation, FONZ,
Frothingslosh Syndicate, GAPPDA, Homeland Alliance, IT Alliance, Jingoists, kLk,
Knights of the Covenant, LBA, League Arcane, Legion6, Living Essences, Lords and
Ladies of Darkness, Manic Union, Midnight Foundation, Minions of Diana, Monarchs of
Montezuma, NCA, NIMROD, R.A.G.E., Seventh Sons, The Firm, The French Connection,
Vendett@ United, and the Vendetta Cartel.
If you are a member of one of these alliances, let me know. If you are a member of
some other alliance that isn't listed, let me know. If you were at any point in your
past a part of one of these alliance but are now independent, also let me know.
Going inactive doesn't mean you get removed from this list; people are assumed to
still be in the same alliance when they return. Even having everyone in an alliance
go inactive doesn't change anything. If an alliance is officially disbanding, that's
another thing you have to let me know....
The Saint, keeper of lists
P.S. If you already responded to my online plea (and I replied), you can ignore
this.
