"Cheese is good," Spud Loomis argued. "I could pass on the olives, though." He
frowned. "Maybe peppers? Pineapple. Even stinking fish--"
"Stinking fish?" Jellia Boone blinked from her place at the sink.
"He means anchovies," Pascella said. "About the only thing they're FIT for is
snacks, so--"
"Even anchovies have a place in life, a role to play," Spud said.
"Well... they can disguise the taste of cooked spinach," Jellia suggested.
"Hey! Cooked spinach is good if you know what you're doing," Spud protested.
"Then most cooks don't know what they're doing. How about alligator pears?"

Notes from the arena champ.
Snacks! Nobody can live on snacks. Including the Dark Arena, I suppose, though
they aren't my concern. We need a reliable presence here, Mr. Bandit. Not perfect
ambrosia (godlings), but day in-day out, meat and potatoes gladiators. Seriously,
where's the fun of reading one Dark Arena fight after another, endlessly? Even
bread-and-water guys who lose half the time would be more fun than these... SNACKS.

Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day,
I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again! GOLDEN CANYON had cause to celebrate, after
SPUD LOOMIS got 7 points by beating JACKIE O. JACKIE O certainly had a baffled
expression on hers face, after losing to SPUD LOOMIS and losing 3 points in the
process! BAKED FRATSFA found out that CALEAM isn't a democracy. You've gotta be the
best to be Duelmaster here! So who was the warrior seen charging into immovable
walls and challenging dead trees? Someone's got a basic problem...
A Zenmaster once told me, 'Does not the spinning wheel turn? And do not the
little birds cry out?' Any ideas? Like a horde of jackals fleeing from the lion, so
did the "warriors" in CALEAM avoid GOLDEN CANYON. Like a pup with its tail between
its legs, ZOMBIE SQUAD scurried away from GOLDEN CANYON. Oh, the shame!
Like the wind whispering among the pines, do hearest I many disquieting rumors.
Oh hard! that to strike a flame, the match itself must needs be wasting!
