                                      by Hammer

When the [uncompromisingly] righteous triumph, there is great glory and
celebration; but when the wicked rise [to power], men hide themselves. -- Proverbs
28:12 Amplified Bible

ROOK STOOD IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR adjusting his black tuxedo as his piercing
blue eyes examined every crease and seam for spotless detail.
Then he pulled back his long black hair around which he tied his signature silk
ribbon, looking intently all the while at the 6'2" almost skeletally thin 150 lb
frame that gazed back at him, as if probing his innermost thoughts.
Reaching for his top hat and silver raven sword cane, the Vendetta Cartel
Lieutenant; Court Music Master and Undertaker of the Crimson Ascension Family, drew
in a long breath as he thought upon recent accomplishments.
His Raven Theater and Mortuary for the Civilized Entertainment of the Living and
Respectful Care of the Dead had met Morya with Great Success as the Countless Bags of
Gold in Rook's Coffins readily attested to.
On the arena sands of the Madness in Morya, there were mixed reviews as to what
the relative Newbie Manager had accomplished: 36 Team Losses and 6 Kills to his
stable's credit.
ROOK'S RAVENS most recent Kill had come at the Expence of the FLOWER HAMMERZ
stable. Rook had sent his Lunger VIVALDI to Challenge RED ORCHID HAMMER to Gain a
Victory over the Aimer to Improve VIVALDI's Record.
     Death Was The Result.
In fact, RED ORCHID HAMMER was the Only Active Aimer Persuing Dameon Darkheart's
gladiator ALLURE of MAGICAL MADNESS in the Aimed Blow category of the Morya Madness
Style Masters Competition.
Had Rook Unwittingly Cost Hammer a Chance to Compete in this category? Or was it
Truly By Design of some Web of Madness?
Either Way, there would be a Price to Pay and Hammer was Enroute to Meet with
Rook at that Very Hour.
Rook turned to leave his dressing room to make preparations to greet the
Vendetta Cartel Captain; WordSmith and High Priest of the Crimson Ascension Family in
which Hammer had so Graciously Received Rook into Membership.
It was the Kill of a Ripper on the Madness Sands that had lifted Rook from a
mere Probate to Lieutenant in the Crimson Ascension Family of the Vendetta Cartel.
Rook was Painfully Aware that himself, Hammer and Lady Martilyo; Vendetta Cartel
Lieutenant, Healer and High Priestess of the Crimson Ascension Family; were now the
Only Members of the CAF and Rook was Greatly Concerned that the Outcome of his
Decision Regarding VIVALDI vs RED ORCHID HAMMER might Alienate or even Ostacise him
from the CA Family.
Noachian had Vanished prior to the Opening Round of the Madness after one of his
gladiators Executed ROSE HAMMER [a stat burning Ripper] without Hammer being Afforded
the Opportunity of a Bloodfeud...thus Abandoning His Position in the CAF.
Youngblood had left the VC/CAF to Forge New Ties with The Firm and Flagg had
Slipped Away Without A Word Until Recently Resurfacing with another Ex-Vendetta
Cartel member Apex and 3 others as CHAOS INC...Announcing Their Chaotic Entrance into
the Current ZalCon II Reloaded in Jhelum DM 4.
Even Hammer's Friend in the Real Life World Beyond Alastari, Gods Soldier, had
Abandoned His Position as a Probate in the CAF due to Other World Matters.
Rook was Uncertain of His Own Future in the CAF/VC in the Face of These and
Other Events that had Pressed In Upon the Maturing Newbie Manager.
"As a matter of fact," thought Rook as he took a step towards the door of his
dressing room, "where has Lady Martilyo been? She seems to have disappeared. I
expected her at last night's performance at my Raven Theater, but neither she nor
Hammer were seated in their Luxury Balcony Box. Where could she be?"
Answers Have A Way Of Getting Our Attention Unexpectedly.
Rook froze in his tracks as his ears discerned a faint tapping sound from the
direction of his dressing mirror directly behind him.
Slowly drawing his sword cane from its sheathe, Rook firmly wound his fingers
beneath the silver raven atop his sword cane and spun about with the grace of an
accomplished musician to confront the unusual disturbance that greeted his keen
maestro ears from behind.
The Unexpected Has Ways Of Getting Our Our Attention To Expect Answers.
"My Lady!" gasped Rook as he rushed to his mirror. "How ever in the Madness
gripping Morya did you get inside there?"
There was no skeletal reflection in the mirror to meet Rook's gaze, but rather
the features of the Black Haired Beauty from Cebuana Isla, hands and face pressed to
the opposite side of the glass, as if looking through the window of one of many
worlds into another.
Rook was not aware of the passage of time or how it was that all conscious
thought had fled his senses; for he was only aware that his body had somehow fallen
to the floor at the unexpected sight of Lady Martilyo gently tapping the other side
of his mirror, her face and hands pressed from inside to the mirror's outer surface
and looking at Rook as though she were standing outside a store window and looking in
upon the displays of a community merchant within...yet sealed shut from the outside
world.
It was a knock at the dressing room door that brought Rook to his full senses
and away from the sight of Lady Martilyo in his mirror.
"One moment please," responded Rook as he dusted himself off and made the
necessary adjustments to his displaced dignity.
"Hammer has arrived with a special gift for your dressing room," came the steady
reply of one of Rook's faithful serving girls. "Hammer's helpers are bringing it to
your room now."
Rook opened the door as two Half Elves from Hammer's Morya Manor Estate on the
Lake [aka Hammerz Flower Garden] struggled down the hall under the burden of an
Innately Ornamented Looking Glass.
Directly behind them was the cloaked figure of Hammer, judiciously supervising
the delivery, the glint of Cold Steel catching Rook's eye from the sunlight dancing
upon the Cebuana Isla Chain Mail Shirt that Lady Martilyo had given to Hammer at the
Great Banquet Hall seemingly so many lifetimes ago on the Eve of the Opening Round of
the Madness in Morya.
Rook also took note of the Reflection of the Elven Steel Blade of the Ceremonial
Broadsword within the folds of Hammer's cloak. More curious was the Dwarven Forged
War Hammer that caught Rook's eye, not so conspicuously hidden inside Hammer's cloak
as well, as Hammer stretched his arms towards Rook in a friendly greeting.
"About VIVALDI..." Rook tried to break the ice of his own uncertainty.
Hammer responded with an upraised hand and a knowing nod that silenced Rook.
"Death is a Part of the Game...So are Bloodfeuds...Be Expecting a Visitor!!!!"
Rook nervously cleared his throat, pointing to his dressing mirror, saying,
"Would you be referring to Lady Martilyo?"
Hammer shook his head in amusement.
"So There You Are My Dear! Enjoying The View?"
Lady Martilyo smiled from the opposite end of the dressing mirror and blew
Hammer a kiss before making a face at him in mock disgust.
"Whatever is going on?" questioned a bewildered Rook in awe at Hammer's lack of
anxiety regarding Lady Martilyo's appearance in Rook's dressing mirror. "Why...This
Is Utter Madness!"
Hammer calmly walked over to the Innately Ornamented Looking Glass that his two
Half Elf helpers had positioned in the room before quietly leaving Hammer in Rook's
presence alone unbidden.
"This Is The Gift that Answers All Questions Regarding Lady Martilyo's
Appearance In Your Dressing Mirror!"
Rook stood amazed as Hammer pressed his hand to the face of the newly delivered
Looking Glass...Watching in Astonishment as Hammer's hand and forearm Disappeared
into the Looking Glass as though passing through the Surface of the Water of a Great
Lake.
Calmly and matter of factly, Hammer withdrew both forearm and hand from the
Looking Glass, quite unharmed.
"Go Ahead," offered Hammer, "You Try It!"
Gingerly and with Great Hesitation...Rook extended his sword cane toward the
surface of the mirror.
     TAP! TAP! TAP!
"Your Hand, Man, Your Hand!" urged Hammer with a curious smile curving at the
corners of his mouth.
With the aplomb of an accomplished musician turned maestro, Rook began waving
his arms and hands as if conducting an invisible orchestra, building to a crescendo
that climaxed with Rook cautiously extending his pinky finger into...and passing
through...the surface of the Looking Glass.
Shimmering Sensations Greeted Rook as his Fingertips...then his Wrist...slowly
all the way to his elbow...merged with the mirror and Disappeared to ElseWhere...or
ElseWhen...Rook Knew Not.
"Wheeeuuuhhh!" exclaimed Rook as he retrieved his arm and hand. "That's Some
Gift Hammer!"
     Hammer merely smiled.
"At least you have the good fortune of an explanation," Hammer stated as he eyed
Lady Martilyo with an amused expression. "My Lady Martilyo merged through her mirror
without the Foreknowledge of the Special Properties Inherent in the Elven Looking
Glass."
Hammer went on to explain that several of these Elven Looking Glass Dimensional
Portals were in his possession and that This Particular Elven Looking Glass was a
Gift for Rook to Either Explore or to Merely Decorate his dressing room with...until
the time when Rook would Understand the Why and the Wherefore of his having Received
this Unexpected and Remarkable Gift.
"Now if you will excuse me," Hammer politely implored his puzzled host, "I must
now join Lady Martilyo to respond to an urgent summons for our help."
Hammer Bowed Graciously as a Sign of Respect for the Vendetta Cartel Lieutenant,
then calmly stepped into the Elven Looking Glass.
Rook stood there in seemingly dumbfounded disbelief as Hammer disappeared into
the surface of the Elven Looking Glass and moments later stood beside Lady Martilyo
in Rook's own dressing room mirror, smiling and waving to the astounded Crimson
Ascension Family member.
Then both Hammer and Lady Martilyo faded from view.
How many long moments Rook stood staring at his dressing room mirror was unknown
to the CAF Court Music Maker and Undertaker.
     One Thing Was Certain:
Rook Had Not Imagined in his Wildest Dreams that Hammer would Respond to the
Death of his Aimer in This Manner.
"By The Way My Friend," Rook was startled back to some type of Reality as Hammer
stepped through the Elven Looking Glass, "You May Need This."
Hammer extended an Elven Orb of Transport to Rook, who automatically accepted
the further gift without question.
"There Are A Lot Of Forces At Work Here In Morya," continued Hammer without a
pause, "And Soon You Will Have To Choose What Part You Will Play In The Unfolding
Drama."
"Lord Chaos And His Chaositects Have Vanished From Morya After An Assault On
Their Guildhouse By Dark Shadow Riders."
"There Is A Disturbance In The Morya Sewers That Has Drawn Certain Players Into
An Unknown Adventure As Well."
"ElGon Has Taken Shadowgate And Wimpy Somewhere Beyond Reason...Which Leaves
GrimmDorr To Defend Hammerz Flower Garden On His Own Terms."
"I Suggest You Contact GimLee At My Hammerz Flower Shoppe To Decide What Course
Of Action The Two Of You Are To Take With Your Guildhouse To Stem The Tide Of Evil
Sweeping In Upon The Madness."
And with that, Hammer disappeared to answer the call for help somewhere within
the Mirror Dimensions of ElseWhere and ElseWhen.
MEANWHILE.....SOMEWHERE INSIDE AN ELVEN TREASURE CHEST...WHOSE INSIDE BOTTOM WAS
LINED WITH AN ELVEN LOOKING GLASS...WIMPY FOUND HIMSELF TRAVERSING A SPACE FAR

Near Barikala:

The Golden Moon, Lady Protector Artemisia commanding, was approaching the Urt
Delta from the northeast as the day drew to a close. Her goal was Zukal, but as soon
as the ship came within sight of land, she would anchor and wait for daylight. The
maze of channels and islands that formed the delta was not something to attempt at
night. At least, not now. A decade ago there had been an intricate network of
beacons that a skilled and familiar pilot could use to reach the city's docks at any
hour, but the invasion from the East had put an end to that. The defenders had
destroyed the beacons to hamper their foes, and the triumphant invaders of Zukal had
neither the knowledge or desire to restore the system.
Artemisia's lip curled. The Easterners called the people of Alastari
barbarians, because many of their cultures were young. But if the 'civilized' old
cultures of the East didn't--or couldn't--restore safe shipping, who was the true
barbarian?
The lookout shouted that land was in sight, and Artemisia turned to squint into
the setting sun. But she was lower than the man on the mast and couldn't see the
dark line of the shore yet. With a shrug, she turned to look the other way,
searching the sky for a warning of the sudden storms that had given this great lake
its name. That horizon was clear, also. She didn't quite trust it, but...the sky
was clear and the wind was steady. Good enough, for now.
When she turned to the west again, she could see land herself, the long, dark
hump of Barikala Island, silhouetted against the crimson sky. The sun vanished from
sight, and its light was replaced by the broad, slightly greenish beam that shot
straight upward from the center of Barikala. Around her, the sailors moved to place
the ship in a safe position and run out the anchors for the night; her first officer
needed no instructions to handle that.
That beam of light over Barikala was also new since the invasion, and Artemisia
wished her friend Beag Magda were here. The Elf understood such things. Or at least
knew how to think about them, because nobody understood just what that blazing beacon
was...other than dangerous. No one who had landed on Barikala in the last few years
had returned from there to tell what they'd seen.
The lookout called down something else that she couldn't hear over the bustling
sounds of sails being lowered and anchor chains creaking off their drums. One of the
sailors halfway down the mast below him shouted up, got an answer, and came hurrying
down.
"Koro says there's something coming out through the delta," the sailor reported.
"He isn't sure what, the light's about gone, but it might be a group of canoes. They
aren't in a main channel, anyway."
Artemisia glanced to the side. Her first officer was there, as he should be.
"We may have an attack coming up," she said quietly.
He nodded and moved off to make sure the crew was ready.
Artemisia tapped her fingers on the hilt of her cutlass, reviewing
possibilities, then shrugged. It was useless to speculate without more information,
and dangerous to formulate plans under such circumstances. She would have to wait
upon events.

Zukal:

Ghenis glared down into the alley where the last of the soldiers were marching
past. Nothing had happened. The dark god he had believed he served had not
responded. The Ferencian was lying to them all. But somewhere, he knew, there was
such a dark demongod, and he vowed to find it. And the Ferencian liar would be the
first sacrifice....
He withdrew carefully from the roof above the alley. It would be a good idea to
get out of Zukal for a while. Out from under that liar Pelishtekan's eye, so that he
could think and lay his plans in relative safety. Niatoli Island, that's where he
would go. The false cult already had a 'mission' there, and Cousin Og would be his,
Ghenis's, first recruit.

The Isle of the Eye:

Beag Magda sat at a small table near the back of the Two Lilies and swirled the
last of the tea in her cup moodily. She had no fault to find with the Lilies, they
knew her here and always gave her the same table. And the tea, as usual, was
excellent. Something was wrong somewhere, but it was less definite--and more
important--than a problem with the service, or a mediocre cup of tea. She was almost
afraid to look into her cup.
That was nonsense. It was only the unknown that should be feared, and once she
read the tea leaves, the problem would not be unknown. Well, it would not be
completely unknown, but tea leaves were a very imprecise method of diagnosis and
prognostication. With a little shake, she threw off the dark mood, emptied the last
swallow of tea into the saucer, and peered into the cup at the leaves clinging to its
bottom and sides.
She could feel the hair trying to rise on the back of her neck. The leaves
seemed to be swimming in a web of shadows. The patterns they formed all indicated as
plainly as tea leaves could that something very dark was impending. But nothing was
clear. Who was menaced, and by what? How soon?
Beag Magda set the cup down very carefully, because her hand was trying to
shake, and laid coins beside it to pay for the tea. She needed more information, and
she couldn't get it here.

Stormcrowe:

Lord Protector Ipecac stalked ashore and glared around for someone to share his
outrage. Anyone who recognized him in time--and Stormcrowe was a small island with a
limited population who generally DID recognize one another--departed hastily. Lady
Protector Snowfall wasn't quite fast enough. "Do you know what HAPPENED?" Ipecac
demanded.
Looking distinctly queasy, Snowfall shook her head.
"My ship was ATTACKED," the warrior from Emetics snapped. He didn't notice when
the shapely woman flinched from his vehemence; people were always doing that around
him. He stalked closer, dropping his voice for privacy. "Monsters," he hissed.
"Demons out of the waves. Half shark, half man, you might say. Others like kraken.
They were summoned by a dark wizard on a black ship. We have to do something about
this."
Snowfall swallowed a couple of times, then said, "Why? And how?"
Ipecac raised his eyebrows. "You want to live on nothing but fish caught in the
harbor?" he asked. "They could blockade us! And what if they decide to come ashore
and attack us here on the island?" He frowned thoughtfully. "Probably it's part of
some Karnhorn plot, and if we don't nip it in the bud, they'll be all over us,
murdering and enslaving. Can't have that."
"No," Snowfall agreed faintly, "we can't have that. But how do we stop them?"
"We fight, of course!" He hesitated, perhaps realizing that such a plan was
lacking in useful details. "All the ships will have to be armed with...catapults,"
he suggested. "And...none of them going out alone. Yes. And we need to find any
wizards on the island and recruit them to help fight, and more importantly to find
out what we're up against. That's a beginning." He nodded firmly. "We need to
start right away!"
Snowfall turned quickly to the rail at the edge of the dock and fed the fish her

                                      SPY REPORT

Greetings, Warriors of MORYA. Allow this humble servant Novgorodny Vir to give
you a respite from the fights in the form of this Spyreport. THE WARLORDS II? Who?
IDIOTIC ICCERS is the top team these days, buddies! Managers were muttering after
SHADOW GATE showed MORYA what they could do: 5-0-0 to move up by 21. Perhaps it is
THE PENTARCHY members' intannibility that enabled them to move from 17th to 6th last
week... (Less time in the sun...) Like a chunk of francium heaved into a wet pond,
LADZ OF LUGBURZ blew up the rankings to 13! Say what you will about blind luck and
dirty fighting, but BAD GERMS will tell you 31-24-0 is nothing to laugh at...
BOXOROX had cause to celebrate, after GALENA got 22 points by beating TERRIBLE
TOTOMAC. Win some, lose some. Speaking of which, GALENA was winsome, after beating
TERRIBLE TOTOMAC and seeing her lose 17 points. You could cut the tension with a
scimitar as PARADOX of SHADOW GATE met the Duelmaster. In MORYA, nothing is
permanent (except Death), and we find ourselves a new Duelmaster, PARADOX. Word has
it one team in MORYA is taking speech lessons to try to bore their opponent to death.
I'll bet it works.
A Zenmaster once told me, 'Does not the spinning wheel turn? And do not the
little birds cry out?' Any ideas? Like a horde of jackals fleeing from the lion, so
did the "warriors" in MORYA avoid MAGICAL MADNESS. Like a pup with its tail between
its legs, FLOWER HAMMERZ scurried away from MAGICAL MADNESS. Oh, the shame! If
challenges were horses, INFINITY could open up a fast food joint! Place your bets!
FROGGER is the long shot of the week: they challenged STAPH. AUREUS, up by 26. If
FROGGER had won victory over STAPH. AUREUS, he'd be a hero, but since he lost we just
laugh at him. Tough break. CHOPIN challenged SKADI! Who says ROOK'S RAVENS are
just a bunch of wimps! CHOPIN of ROOK'S RAVENS kept his wits as he bested SKADI.
Like the wind whispering among the pines, do hearest I many disquieting rumors.
HOLY HAVOC of HITLIST XXVIII spared TORPEDO (11-19-1) from having to lose any more
fights. What's your next plan, DODGE BULLETS? The audience gave a nice round of
rasberries to ASTEROIDS of CLASSIC ARCADE, for expiring in such an ungraceful
fashion. 5-5-0, indeed! Death (in the form of BAD MOON RISING of LUNAE MILITES)
knocked on DES DESCARDO's door. What will CRYPT KNIGHTS do? The suspense is killing
me. Charity is unknown in MORYA, and rightly so. BAD GERMS exacted their revenge
against THE WARLORDS II. Never one to advocate diplomacy and restraint, I was
pleased to see THE PENTARCHY retaliate against PRIMAL FURY in bloodfeud! Justice was
served as POPPY HAMMER fought VIVALDI in bloodfeud. Well done, FLOWER HAMMERZ!
Charity is unknown in MORYA, and rightly so. WIMPS OF MADNESS exacted their revenge
against FILIPINA LADYZ. Ask not a spymaster for counsel, for he will pontificate
long after you have fallen into an unconscious stupor.
All good things must come to an end. Keep those sands bloody and the buzzards
fat! MORYA, I leave you now. The Duelmaster has agreed to foot my bill at Arthur's
Last Stand. 'Til next time-- Novgorodny Vir

Lady Beatriz -- You got off to a nice start but all my blows with my medium shield
took their toll. I was also a little dismayed at your low blow at the start of the
fight. After that I think you got what you deserved. -- Foofaraw

Staph. Aureus -- No big deal. Everyone out-jumps me. -- Pettifogger

Pong -- Now this was an example of a really dumb challenge on your part. I just beat
you last turn and you come back for more? How stupid can you get. You did get some
improvement: You lost in 12 minutes in the first fight and this time you lost in 9
minutes. An improvement of 4 minutes. Would you like to try for 5 minutes? --
Creepazoid

Yellow Snow -- Everyone is taught not to eat you. I beat you and Wimpy says I have
to take a bunch of torches to my next fight. I don't understand; I have a perfect
record of 1-0. -- Holy Moley

Holy Moley -- All I can say is that you are badly hosed. If you can win your night
fight you can continue here with the other Wimps. -- Wimpy

Lady Maria -- All the Wimps will miss Togs Reject. His death is a big surprise to
all of us. No one had any idea that he would lose to you, let alone get killed.
Fighters of your style are not well known as killers. Congratulations on a great
fight. -- Wimpy
P.S. I'm sorry we don't have anyone high enough to bloodfeud you. I am going to let
poor old Foofaraw try however.

All -- First of all let me say that I am now a proud member of the Vendetta Cartel
and although that doesn't change my basic sunny disposition, I will defend my
brothers and sisters of the cartel with many challenges, trash talk and many losses
as well. Thank you for your time. -- Fizban the Fanatic

Assur -- He who doesn't change and adapt is bound for extinction. Take poor Clost
for example. I know the BF is coming just not sure which. Well, let's see what the
BA master has. Good luck to you. -- Fizban

Clost -- Shame on you, the first time we fought should have taught you. -- Hengist

Shaguk -- (panting heavily) Now I'M the one not breathing properly. Aren't you even
a little tired? -- (gasp wheeze) Caesar

Drunken Donut -- You should really try coffee. All that booze is slowing you down.
And tell your manager to quit trying to get me shnockered by sending over spiked
snacks. -- Fizban

Grottrak -- That's what you get, you sneak you. Besides my manager had to give yours
an initiation loss too. <grin> -- Cleo

Lady Consolacion -- Please pardon me milady, but you did ask me to dance, did you
not? If it's any Consolation you're very light on your feet. -- Fizban
P.S. Tell that man of yours I said hi and I'm glad to share the same alliance with
the two of you.

To my Brothers and Sisters in the Cartel -- I applaud our efforts in this Morya
Madness. Leading in the majority of the categories but we can do better. Now I know
you're saying to yourselves 'Fiz, you've finally gone cuckoo'. Well I assure you
that I haven't. Not when you look at our sheer presence in Morya and yet we only
lead in half of the style masters categories. By our sheer numbers we should control
at least 8 of these categories. Now I know you're saying, 'Fiz surely you jest'.
Well, as a matter of fact, I do surely jest. We should control all 10. Rise up and
take your place in Morya legend, brothers and sisters. Let your name ring through
the streets. Both of them. But let it ring loudly anyway. <grin> -- Fizban the
Fanatic

Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker. -- O. Nash

Allow me to present the "Candy is Dandy" team, some of whom won't get sugared up
until after the Mailer...Zagnut, Lemon Drop, Starburst, Orange Slice, Snickers. Now
y'all be sweet to them. -- O. Nash

Hammer -- Nice to see you doing good; hope life continues treating you well. -- Rook

Red Orchid Hammer -- Afraid I took out all of my frustration from my past few losses
on you. I'll plead temporary insanity! RIP. -- Vivaldi

Eamon Finn -- As you can see I'm not exactly the pushover my record seems to
indicate. You might want to be a bit more cautious with your challenge in the
future! -- Handel

Mr. Chomp Chomp -- You seem to have improved your endurance since last we met.
Congratulations on the win. -- Mozart

Wimpy -- Your aimer chose to challenge Lady Maria and it cost him his life. Had
adjustments not been made prior to your challenge, Lady Maria might have died
instead. Who wants to face her now? -- Lady Martilyo :)

TOGS Reject -- Rest in peace, little dwarf. Nothing is more satisfying for my style
than to kill an aimer who spent the first 3 minutes smacking me in the head. Got me
so disoriented that by the end of the fight I did not hit you where I intended
according to my strategy sheet. -- Lady Maria :)

Foofaraw -- Lucky for you my adjustments were not as deadly as my sister in arms.
Lady Martilyo has readjusted my thinking in case we dance on the sands again. -- Lady
Beatriz :)

Bad Moon Rising -- Nice to be cheered for a victory. Nasty weapon you brought to the
sands, you naughty boy. Had to protect my virtue and my life. -- Lady Dominga :)

Carjack -- I may be a slow learner, but at least I found a way to survive your
challenge. -- Lady Emelita :)

Napoleon -- Naughty boy, but then it was my challenge. Interesting technique. Time
to change partners. --- Lady Consolacion :)

Madness Managers --- Some of you seem to delight in taking aim at my ladyz.
Madness.... -- Lady Martilyo :)

Minions of Morya Madness -- The P-ads seem to be a bit sparse??? Madness!!!!! Team
Spotlights from our ranks no longer exist??? Madness!!!!! The Most Avoided Team was
inactive last cycle??? Madness!!!!! My Alliance Mate orders my Aimer Challenged and
she DIED??? Madness!!!!! So I recruit Dandelion Hammer as a Total Parody???
Madness!!!!! -- Hammer, Your Overseas Madness Host; Vendetta Cartel Captain;
WordSmith and High Priest of the Crimson Ascension Family

Fizban the Fanatic -- Hail to this month's Madness Mania Poster Boy!!!!! 37 Wins to
lead the pack with Thawk at your neck with 36. Iker off the pace with 32 and The
Pentalque 4th with 30 Wins!!!!! What's at stake? Six Months Free Play in DM 28
courtesy of the Gang at RSI. See You On The Sands!!!!! Pure Madness!!!!! -- Hammer

Iker -- Congratulations on guiding Coa Patty to the FID Award. Even if it was at the
expense of Poppy Hammer while I was in the Philippines <GRIN>!!!!! Now you just have
to wait until the Madness officially ends in June 2005 to claim your RSI Prize:
Rename DM 28 Arena for Six Months!!!!! -- Hammer

Rook -- Ah my Alliance Mate; Court Music Master and Undertaker of the Crimson
Ascension Family; Vendetta Cartel Lieutenant; current possessor of Team Suffering the
Most Defeats with 36 and current leader of Most Team Kills with 6, which RSI will
award the honor of Renaming the Dark Arena Monster of Your Choice. [Renaming the
Arena Master is a No No!] And how did you get the 6th Kill? By sending your Lunger
vs. my Aimer is how!!!!! Vital Attacks to the Jaw, Face, Stomach, and Face.
Madness!!!!! Madness, I Say!!!!! There are NO Hard Feelings, My Friend. Be
Expecting a Visitor!!!!! -- Hammer

Wyatt Burp -- Your tasty (erp) defeat of my friend Daisy Hammer inspired the down
challenge to give me the win to position myself back in the Challenger Champions for
Political Points on my quest for Graduation. Now a Bloodfeud Opportunity calls to me
from Red Orchid Hammer's grave. -- Poppy Hammer
P.S. Hammer and the rest of us in the Flower Hammerz stable do so greatly enjoy your
erping P-ads. You will be missed when you graduate. Perhaps Uncle Wolf can send
another Burper to Morya in due time?????

Vivaldi -- Death is a part of the game--so are Bloodfeuds!!!! -- Poppy Hammer

Madness Maniacs -- Red Orchid Hammer was a 7-10-14-15-15-6-17 Aimer. May she rest in
peace. She heralds the coming of Dandelion Hammer. It was a tough call. Being
famous for unusual Style selections with my RUG options, I gave long thought to
making her an Aimer; however, Death seemed most assured down that road, so I have
anointed Dandelion Hammer to enter the Madness as a Total Parody!!!!! Madness It
Is!!!!! -- Hammer

Madness Maniacs -- It Must Be Madness!!!!! If you could see the RUG numbers you
would have to say: What Madness Is This????? -- Dandelion Hammer, Total Parody
Extraordinaire of Flower Hammerz (372)

Rhinovirus -- No chance was I giving you to cut me on that random matchup, but that
BREATH. <eeeeewwwww> No Mouthwash? -- Daisy Hammer
P.S. Glad it was you in the Infirmary and not me. If I do not live to Graduate, I
know who to point the finger at <GAAACCCKKKKK>.

Coa Sumpthing -- Splinters and a Gash in the Neck. Well Fought. -- Gardenia Hammer

Sulkagrim -- My Challenge keeps my record perfect. Hammer is making some
adjustments. Thought I was headed to the Dark Arena when Hammer found out I lost
again, but the Madness has gripped Hammer and he has decided to run his Flower
Hammerz stable for the remainder of the Madness without sending any more gladiators
to the Dark Arena. Talk About Madness!!!!! On paper my RUG numbers say I should Win
Some Victories, but in the Arena it's Pure Madness!!!!! -- Red Cactus Hammer

Madness Maniacs -- In honor of the 12th round of the Morya Madness, I conclude with
the 12th P-ad courtesy of the Flower Hammerz stable. I would have to say that after
updating my records of the first 11 rounds of Madness that it has been worth the Time
and Effort to Promote this contest as One of the Best Ever and Certainly the Most
Monumental to EVER be held in a Slow Arena. Stick around for the remaining rounds
and beyond...now about those Team Spotlights.... -- Hammer
P.S. Special Thanks to Dameon Darkheart, Maximillian and Everyone Else who has kept
this contest Entertaining and Informed during my overseas absence!!!!!

Mageta the Lion -- Well met and well fought. -- Blackstaff

Poppy Hammer -- (erp!) Anything for (erp! erp!) a lady! -- Wyatt Burp

Frogger -- How...amphibian of you. -- Young Joan, not into frogs, except chicken-
fried

Balder -- Heck. -- Torpedo, feeling like a man of few words today

Lava Runner -- You run on hot lava? (shudder) I don't want to argue with someone
who does that! -- Nightwind

Le Nettoye' -- It's almost the biggest annoyance that I don't even know what that
MEANS. Oh, well. Good fight. -- Redwind

Woelfe -- Well, if you travel in a lot of arenas, it's pretty much a foregone
conclusion that you'll meet me in most of them. I'm there. -- Uncle Wolf and other
manager names as appropriate

All -- For some reason my posts didn't make it last turn. Here is one of them. I
will be throwing Ashzag into the PL style master contest. If you care to know, his
ID number is 4092 and he's on the Ladz of Lugburz. -- Bum

I guess antibiotics do their job! Clost. Perfringens was: 9(1)-7(2)-8-17(1)-21(1)-
16-11, Advanced Experts in Decise & Riposte, Experts in Parry & Initiative. Since I
fully expected him to die (and since he already cheated death once), I am not
surprised or distressed by his loss. To be truthful, it is difficult to get upset
losing something you created in a lab from a Petridish. -- Assur

Hengist -- What was with the crit dodging?!? And didn't you testify at in the Balco
trial last fall?! I think there is some explaining you need to do! -- Assur

Mot -- Well fought -- Enterococcus

Pettifogger -- Huh? That was a weird train.... Input error? -- Staph. Aureus

Daisy Hammer -- You only think you won that duel. Just you wait and see what I've
done to you, long term! -- Rhinovirus

MONGO'S MARDI GRAS MADNESS DUELMASTERS AUCTION

Mongo, aka Matt McIntosh and ex-Warden of the Dark Circle, is auctioning off his
entire collection of Duelmasters warriors and stables. Don't miss out on this chance
to own some fantastic warriors! There are ADM warriors available in every class from
Primus to Freshmen, as well as over a dozen Basic stables.
Does a Slasher with +4 attack, +4 decisiveness, +3 initiative and +2 riposte
sound good? How about a Lunger who received the benefit of a TC prize, has TVed
three times after graduating--and still hasn't maxed out his skills!? How about a
Striker in the Freshmen class who has decisiveness for a favorite learn and the MAUL
for a favorite weapon!?
Or perhaps you prefer playing in Basic. Then how does a stable with four Adept
class warriors who have a combined record of 41-19-9 sound? Or maybe a stable with
three 21-Will warriors? Or perhaps a stable with four Initiates and a Rookie who
have a combined record of 23-6-1?
The quality of the lots is excellent. All you need to view and bid on the lots
is go to:

If you want to be on the mailing list to receive regular updates on the auction,
just send an e-mail to JVMerlino@aol.com. Merlin, aka John Merlino and also an ex-
Warden of the Dark Circle, will be running this auction for me. I just moved to New
Orleans and am likely currently stumbling around the French Quarter...because it's
Mardi Gras! So I have named my auction in honor of this occasion.
The auction will start on Saturday, March 13th, 2004, and will continue for
several weeks. But you should get your bids in early if you want your best chance at
owning any of these fantastic warriors and stables.
Many thanks to all for your interest and your bids,

Mongo

Style Masters Symposium
Hosted by Hammer

The years have slipped by and many DM Managers have come and gone since the last
Hammer's Handbook was compiled and printed.
There is now a stirring within me to begin writing and editing yet another
Handbook with a distribution date sometime in 2005.
This Handbook will be made available via Email with a possibility of burning the
info to a CD for distribution.
Special arrangements will be made to provide the information via printed page to
those contributors who are serving sentences behind bars.
The working title of this new Handbook is "Style Masters Symposium Hosted by
Hammer".
Distribution of this Handbook is projected to be MAINLY for those DM Managers
who contribute information/articles to Hammer by June 2004.
Informative and entertaining articles should focus on insights regarding Any or
All 10 Style Masters for both the Basic and ADM arenas as well as Tourney
competition.
Articles focusing on Weapons/Armor are also encouraged for inclusion.
Whether you are a Newbie Manager without a clue or a Jaded Veteran; everyone has
discovered something about this gaming experience that is both Insightful and
Entertaining.
Email Your Articles to HammerDM@fastermail.com or send them via Diplo to either
Flower Hammerz (372) in DM 28 or Casino Hammerz (576) in DM 33.
Length and Content of the Style Masters Symposium Hosted by Hammer will be
Determined by the Quality and Quantity of Contributors Combined with the Literary
Efforts of Hammer who is currently overseas for an indefinite period of time.
Articles Contributed for this Project should be of Sufficient Length and Content
to Warrant being Included to Receive the Finished Document when Hammer has completed
this literary work to His satisfaction.
Managers contributing articles are also requested to include a DM Bio of
Themselves along with any Notable Successes and/or Failures during Their DM Career in
Basic, ADM and/or Tourney Play.
A listing of Active Stables would also be Helpful for Anyone Seeking to Reply to
Contributors via Diplo, Email or Snailmail.
