Morya Madness Round Fifteen/T-242

Like a roaring lion or a ravenous and charging bear is a wicked ruler over a
poor people. -- Proverbs 28:15 Amplified Bible
HAMMER AND LADY MARTILYO PICKED THEIR WAY THROUGH THE CASTLE RUINS as they
followed the tell tale trail of matted troll hair.
With one swift motion the two adventurers raised their right arms
simultaneously; signaling each other to freeze in their tracks as the faint tread of
muffled footsteps reached their ears.
Mere moments later the diminutive, but unmistakable form of a troll appeared
from the lengthening shadows beyond the castle ruins; cautiously surveying the
landscape round about him, before proceeding further.
Lady Martilyo tightened her grip upon her Cebuana Isla Broadsword in case the
situation demanded its use; as she slowly withdrew her Cebuana Isla Dagger as her
weapon of choice, rather than sully the blade of her Cebuana Isla Scimitar with the
blood of a despicable troll.
Hammer studied the situation intently as he noted his lady making ready to
spring herself upon the life form that she had become accustomed to hating with such
fervency; due to the historically repeated attacks by hordes of trolls upon her
native floating island known as Cebuana Isla somewhere in an all but forgotten
dimensional timeline.
Something about the silver haired/silver bearded troll gnawed at the
subconscious of Hammer as he withdrew the Dwarven Forged War Hammer from the folds of
his cloak; followed by the slow determined movement of the Elven Steel Blade of the
Ceremonial Broadsword easing its way almost soundlessly past the Cebuana Isla Chain
Mail Shirt hidden within the folds of Hammer's Elven Embroidered War Cloak.
Freezing in his tracks, the silver haired/silver bearded troll sniffed the air
for any sign of clues to dangers that may lurk in the gathering gloom of the night
dusk falling upon the ruins of the castle; then proceeded cautiously once more for
his predetermined destination, being well hidden in the rubble of an ancient monument
to happier times.
Darting like a jack rabbit to his hole in a well protected thicket, the troll
leaped over jagged obstacles as two cloaked figures hurled themselves as one fluid
movement together to intercept their prey with blades drawn!
Lady Martilyo uttered a Cebuana Isla curse reserved only for the most hated of
adversaries as her blade sang forward to claim the life of her quarry; realizing in
the final moments of reckoning that the troll was armed with a seemingly invisible
Battleaxe and carried a Greataxe strapped upon his back!
Weapons clashed in a cacophony of sound as the Elven Steel Blade of Hammer's
Ceremonial Broadsword intercepted the sweep of the troll's Battleaxe; while the
Dwarven Forged War Hammer stayed the blade of Lady Martilyo's Cebuana Isla Dagger
that sought to slice the tendons of the troll's neck.
Green eyes widened in shocked surprise as the troll backed away from his
attackers; while the brown eyed beauty demanded to know why Hammer had interfered
with her killing blow.
"Friend Hammer!" exclaimed the troll as he bowed in reverence to the veteran
manager as he surrendered his weapon with ceremonial ease.
Hammer nodded to the former prey and turned to his Lady Martilyo to offer an
explanation of introduction to stay the blood lust that welled within his lady's
breast.
"May I present to you GustoRanTilli who was once known as the Prince of Elves,"
Hammer stated as he swiftly returned his weapons to their hiding places within the
folds of his Elven War Cloak.
Lady Martilyo stared blankly at the troll bowing before her and then shifted her
questioning gaze back to Hammer awaiting further explanation.
"Now known as Gus the Troll," stated Hammer matter of factly before breaking
into a wide grin saying, "but we just call him Axe for short!"
Lady Martilyo sheathed her weapons as she giggled at the obvious pun upon
noticing the troll flashing his green eyes in a glare towards Hammer, while muttering
something in an ancient tongue in response to the humor directed at his diminutive
expense.
Hammer went on to explain that GustoRanTilli had led an expedition as the Prince
of Elves into the war torn conflict of the all but long forgotten Inter-Dimensional
Elven Wars; where Gus the Troll emerged as the result of the Prince of Elves being
caught in the cross fire of the onslaught of some crazed mages, turning Gus from Elf
to Dwarf to Troll and back again.
The result was that Gus was left with no will of his own to hold onto the
previous two forms; thus remaining in the guise of a troll most of the time, which
Gus employed to great use as a spy among the evil hordes of the troll warriors
spanning the time and space dimensions which threatened to unleash their chaos upon
the unsuspecting or unprepared.
There were times over the long forgotten years that by the exertion of great
effort, Gus was able to transform back to either Elf or Dwarf for brief periods of
time when the situation called for such an effort.
Thus his ability as a master spy took upon a 3-fold form when necessary to
thwart the plans of evil doers, no matter what racial features were needed to foil
any threat that Gus found himself allying against through the dimensions of time and
space.
Gus led Hammer and Lady Martilyo to a hidden doorway concealed amongst the
rubble of the castle ruins; whereupon mere moments later, the trio were lounging in
the comforts of a lavishly furnished hideaway that served as a sanctum sanctorum for
Gus the Troll.
Soon the three friends were sipping Elven Tea and partaking of Elven Bread Cakes
as Gus the Troll related recent events regarding his espionage among the hordes of
warrior trolls who were gathering a mighty army; in preparation to invade a certain
stronghold headquartered in a land known as Alastari in a place beyond the outskirts
of a city known as Morya where Madness had gripped the populace!
FIZBAN HAD MANAGED TO JUMP FROM THE FRYING PAN INTO THE FIRE as the well
traveled wizard battled to protect the children who had fallen prey to the unspoken
events of the Madness that had gripped Morya.
It had seemed to be a good idea at the time to make that fateful leap through
the Elven Looking Glass into a land unknown for the preservation of the captive
children; however, their safety lasted but a few fleeting hours as Fizban realized
they were somewhere where legions of fierce warrior trolls were gathering to make
their foul councils of war against an unsuspecting people somewhere beyond their
time/space dimensions!
"What I need is some backup!" Fizban muttered as he did his best to conceal in a
heavily wooded area the dozens of children who had become his responsibility. "Some
backup that I can trust with my life and the lives of these innocent children!"
GUS THE TROLL WITHDREW A POCKET MIRROR AND PASSED IT to his friend Hammer with
an explanation that he could contact whoever needed to be alerted regarding the
coming invasion of the warrior trolls.
Hammer concentrated as the glass surface of the pocket mirror began to shimmer
as a communique was established with GrimmDorr at the Hammerz Flower Garden Morya
Manor Estate on the Lake outside Morya where the Madness was drawing dark forces to
wage warfare.
"What witchery is this!" spat GrimmDorr as his reflection in a great tankard of
Elven Ale [while training a new Flower Hammerz gladiator] gave way to the concerned
features of the veteran manager known as Hammer.
Hammer quickly apprised GrimmDorr of the situation as related by Gus the Troll;
admonishing his gladiator trainer to secure the defenses of the Hammerz Flower Garden
Morya Manor Estate on the Lake, while Hammer and Lady Martilyo did what they could
with the aid of Gus the Troll to cripple the invasion before the warrior trolls were
ready to launch an attack on the home front.
"Ah!" grunted GrimmDorr in response to the warning. "Nothing like an invasion
of warrior trolls to bring an old friend out of the woodwork! It will be a grand and
glorious event to stand blade-to-blade with our old comrade-in-arms Gus the Troll to
beat back the invasion of this inter-dimensional vermin!"
Hammer smiled with confidence that his trusted GrimmDorr would secure the
grounds and have Hammer's trained army of gladiators ready to repel any and all
invaders!
"You should see what a beauty I have training for the Flower Hammerz stable!"
GrimmDorr beamed with a lusty bellow in his voice. "A Blonde haired and Green eyed
Shagornan Elf by name of Tyger Lily Hammer!"
"She is a beauty to behold," continued GrimmDorr as he broke into a broad smile.
"She's got that Attractiveness and Cool that is a couple of notches above her Courage
and Ego. Should serve right well as a Ripper!"
"Guaranteed ticket to the Isle of the Eye if she survives this Morya Madness!"
GrimmDorr could hardly contain his enthusiasm for the newest Ripper to grace the fold
of the Flower Hammerz stable of women warriors.
"This Shagornan Elf known as Tyger Lily Hammer has a Sociability a notch below
her Charisma," explained GrimmDorr, "but she has nothing to prove to anyone because
her potential on the sands is plain to see! Her Trustworthiness notches between her
Charisma and Courage/Ego classifications which makes her a team player through and
through!"
GrimmDorr went on to explain that Tyger Lily Hammer had drawn a matchup with
Mordant Deserter for her debut on the Madness sands. The Shagornan Elf had managed
to escape a Frustration situation with a Victory as a result of an experimental
strategy that had abandoned Hammer's historic handling of new Rippers.
"Tried a different weapon to see if her favorite were that of Wild Card Hammer's
just as you suggested," explained GrimmDorr, "but we need to make some adjustments if
she is to survive the minions of the Madness lurking in the recognition rankings
above her!"
Hammer quickly conferred with GrimmDorr and gave him instructions as to how to
send the Shagnornan Elf out on the Madness sands with further experimentation;
afterall, this might be a once in a lifetime opportunity with this Blonde haired
Green eyed beauty!
From SomeWhere beyond the Realms of ElseWhere and ElseWhen, the voice of one
Hammer was heard saying:
"This Shagornan Elf Shall Walk In The Path Of The Mighty One Of Old...Honoring
The Memory Of The Fallen Duelmistress Violet Hammer Who Once Led This Flower Hammerz
Stable...This Ripper's Destiny Shall Be Carved Upon The Sands Of The Madness In
Morya...Tyger Lily Hammer Shall Shape Her Destiny With The Harsh Reality Of Cold
Cruel Steel...Emerging Battle Hardened And Battle Tested...Not Found To Be
Wanting...Following The Instincts Of Her Inward Voice...To The DM 28 Duelmasters
Throne And Beyond...Fighting The Good Fight Of Faith...And Destined To Win...No
Matter What The Opposition...Ripping A New Madness As She Goes!"
After a further exchange of War Strategy concluded regarding the defenses of
Hammerz Flower Garden Morya Manor Estate on the Lake; Hammer bid GrimmDorr his best
and turned his focus back to Gus the Troll and Lady Martilyo.
"Axe," replied Hammer in response to the revelation of the secret information
that Gus the Troll had garnered in his secret sojourn among the assembled warrior
trolls the past fortnight, "if you manage to survive this conflict; I have a business
proposition for you regarding a certain Weaponz Shoppe over in Illis DM 59 and a
thing called Death Fest!"
WIMPY HAD FINALLY OVERTAKEN HIS COMPANIONS AND LED THE WAY THROUGH THE DENSE
WOODS until both Shadowgate and ElGon were hard pressed to keep up with the veteran
manager.
This Black Spot affair had taken more than its fair share of unexpected twists
and turns and Wimpy was determined to see this hand played out no matter where it
led.
Suddenly...the adventurer froze in mid-stride as he heard the unmistakable
screams of children somewhere in the dense foliage off to the right of the path he
was following.
Without a word he plunged forward into the unknown to investigate.
Shadowgate and ElGon were not far behind.
KAT, SENSEI JAN AND DR MABUSE FOUND THEMSELVES DEPOSITED UPON THE EDGE OF A
CLIFF OVERLOOKING a dense forest of trees with a clearing down below the base of the
rocky wall that proved to be inhabited by something sinister.
Although no signs of life were to be seen in any direction, the unmistakable
hint of Death hung over the area like a dense fog on a cold November night.
The three comrades made their way downward with much effort, hands ready upon
their weapons and senses honed to respond to the first hint of danger that greeted
them.
Night was rapidly falling as they arrived at their destination, searching for
any clues as to the whereabouts of one Fizban and his band of rescued Morya children.
Kat sniffed the air, pointing in a direction that Sensei Jan had begun walking
towards with determined focus as she gripped the handles of her Obsidian Daggers with
vigor.
Dr Mabuse followed but a few yards to the right of them, pausing momentarily to
pick up a discarded torn parchment that blew past him on the slight night wind.
His eyes widened as he beheld the image of a Black Spot marking a familiar
territory on the outskirts of a city bearing the name of Morya!
"What Madness is this?" questioned Dr Mabuse as the sound of screaming children
interrupted his focus upon the ancient parchment map.
AS CHESS PLAYERS MORE THAN PAWNS.....A MADNESS DRAWN FROM AFAR.....THE BLACK
SPOT CULT HAD ASSEMBLED.....EMPLOYING WARRIOR TROLLS TO EXACT THEIR REVENGE.....FOR
DEFEATS IN THE PAST.....AT THE HANDS OF A HAMMER.....AND THOSE WHO STOOD WITH
HIM.....NOW THE PLAYERS HAD BEEN SUMMONED.....INTERSECTING THE INVADERS BY DESTINY
UNBOUND.....THE HOWLS OF THE WOUNDED CARRIED ON THE BLOOD STAINED WIND.....SCREAMS OF
INNOCENT CHILDREN.....PROTECTED BY ONE DETERMINED WIZARD KNOWN AS FIZBAN.....WHOSE
MUTTERED PLEA FOR TRUSTED BACKUP HAD NOT GONE UNANSWERED IN HIS HOUR OF NEED.....

SPY REPORT
It's me, The Unknown Spymaster here with my bag to give you the news on last
week's fights. Say good-bye to SHADOW GATE, as they are pushed from the coveted top
team spot by the THE PENTARCHY stable. Rising in the ranks like a loaf of armored
bread (okay, I admit it's corny) is RED IRON KNIGHTS, who swept up 18 places in the
ranks. It looks like the guys(?) at BOXOROX had a good week as they went 3-0-0 to
put them in 11th place. I guess steroids help! Hey everybody, watch out for LADY
BEATRIZ, who flew up 19 points in the rankings after mashing DAISY HAMMER like a
melon. Keep your eye on this gal. Well, if ya don't shows up at the laundromat, ya
can'ts wash yer clothes. PARADOX did not fight this week so his title was forfeit.
In front of all the crowds, CIARAN POWER took the Duelmaster's crown for his own. I
give the bum two weeks. An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but an onion a day
keeps T.P.s at bay.
But enough of that bunch, let's get on to the wimps who like to avoid battle!
Here's a song for you: Who's afraid of the big, bad IDIOTIC ICCERS? Big bad
IDIOTIC ICCERS. Big bad IDIOTIC ICCERS. MORYA's afraid of the big bad IDIOTIC
ICCERS. Tra la la la la! Okay, so I may not be funny, but catch THE PENTARCHY's act
in the arena. Those acrobats seem to be fairly deft at running from IDIOTIC ICCERS.
Well just about everybody wants a piece of YOUNG JOAN, who was this week's most
challenged warrior. Can any one out there say 'weasel'? Oh well, just saying
GIARDIA will do. He challenged 23 points down to trash MOT. Definition of petty:
GIARDIA bested MOT, a mismatch of 23 points. In a touching display by a 'touched'
warrior, UG went after STUPID SMILEY, who was higher by 19 points. Well, when the
dust settled, UG was bested by STUPID SMILEY. RAY D AYTOR of OTTO'S MECHANICS had
better have a good reason for challenging down 8 points in a challenge which he lost.
I thought RAY D AYTOR showed great skill and promise when he was bested by CIARAN
POWER. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). There's got to be more reason for the
sending of WHAT BOSS RAT WANTS to the Dark Arena than his record (4-2-1). Anybody
got any ideas GUARDIAN'S GAMBIT? This week 6-6-1 TYR was sent to the Dark Arena. I
know a lot of fighters with similar records who might take notice of this. MADMAN
defied all odds and slew BLACK ORC in the Dark Arena. The only ones displeased were
the buzzards, as BLACK ORC's meat is notoriously tough. For those of you who missed
it, Death showed up, grabbed SIF by the ear and took her away to a place where she
won't need a coat. Ask not the elves for counsel, for they will say both yes and no.
Silly buggers, eh?
Well, there's the manager of the MORYA giving me the 'cut' sign (or is that
'They're going to strangle you in the alley?). Okay, so I may not be the world's
best comedian, but then you guys aren't the world's best warriors. Its been fun, and
I'm sure you enjoyed it (boos). Now that I've got you worked up for Snide Clemens,

DEATH FEST
The ferocious ghosts of former glories whispered across the wind swept sands of
DM 59; agonizing incessantly due to the diminutive demise of the Delarq arena known
as Illis.
Tattered banners and forgotten memories wailed in the wind for a dynamic death
march to dawn once more upon the blood stained sands of the Delarq slow arena.
The distant call crying for a declaration of restoration amidst the ruin of the
all but forgotten Delarq arena carried to the far corners of Alastari; drawing the
Devious, the Diabolical, the Dangerous and the Down Challenging to cross blades and
wage warfare among an assemblage of new stables managed by the Known and Unknown;
willing to spill fresh blood, while carving their destiny during 15 Rounds of contest
driven combat to be known as the "Illis Incredibly Diabolical Delarq Death Fest".
A lone cloaked figure huddled by lamplight in a remote outpost near the
crossroads of ElseWhere and ElseWhen; feverishly formulating the foundational
framework for the dawning of the Delarq Death Fest in DM 59, complete with
Gladiatorial Commission sanctioned prizes to promote the growing thirst for a Delarq
Slow Arena Death Festival.
Delarq Death Fest Opening Round debuts the first turn immediately following the
Summer 2004 F2F Tourney and continues through the completion of 15 consecutive
rounds.
Death Fest points are Won or Lost ONLY in the DM 59 Delarq Slow Arena [Tourneys
DO NOT Add or Subtract from the Death Fest Point Scoring System]:

Win =3D +2 pts
Loss =3D -1 pt
Kill =3D +5 pts [in addition to +2 pts for Win]
Death =3D -3 pts [in addition to 1 pt for Loss]
Dark Arena Kill =3D +10 pts [in addition to +2 pts for Win]
Dark Arena Death =3D -5 pts [in addition to 1 pt for Loss]
Revenged Blood Feud =3D +5 pts [successful Revenged Blood Feud provides Death Fest
contestants the opportunity to cancel out 3 pts for Death and 1 pt for Loss; while
gaining +1 pt overall for the Revenged Blood Feud in addition to the +2 pts for Win]
DEATH FEST PRIZES will be awarded to the Top Ten Death Fest Stables on the basis
of Total Points*** accumulated during the 15 rounds of competition as follows:
1. Favorite Weapon Knowledge for 1 (one) warrior ranked Initiate or higher on the
Final Round to be revealed by RSI to each of the Top Ten Death Fest Stables
2. Renaming of Dark Arena Monsters and NPCs [yet to be determined according to how
many DA Monsters and NPCs are available in DM 59 for Renaming]
3. The Top Five Death Fest Stables will receive New Team Rollup Certificates as
follows: 1st (10), 2nd (8), 3rd (6), 4th (4) and 5th (2)
4. Renaming Illis Arena for 6 months plus Receiving 6 months Free Play courtesy of
RSI will be awarded to the manager of the 1st Place Death Fest Stable
5. Discussions are underway regarding a possible Special Award granted to the Illis
Iron Stable qualifiers who compete in 67 of a possible 75 fights during the course of
the 15 consecutive rounds of the Death Fest [Key Factor is How Many (?) stables will
be competing in the Death Fest without drawing away participation by current managers
in the remaining slow arenas!] Therefore, it is important for all managers entering

approval!] Any manager whose stable competes in at least 67 of the possible 75
fights during the 15 rounds of Death Fest receives 25 points added to His/Her final
overall score [this allows each stable the cushion of missing one round of
competition; plus up to 3 additional fights due to waiting for replacement rollups

TEN TURNS OF HELL:
The KLK Capture The Flag Competition
In the spirit of the ongoing effort to make arena play what it used to be (FUN!!), I
am proud to announce the KLK Capture The Flag Competition. The competition will be
held in Jhans (DM-36, which has, by the way, grown in size equal to Talcama already).
:) We are announcing this contest early to allow managers time to prep.
Rules:
-- On turn 462 (due 8/4/04) the lowest ranked warrior on your team is given your
team's 'flag' (he is your initial flag defender).
-- Starting on turn 463 (due 8/18/04) flags will be defended every turn and turn
463 is the turn scoring will begin.
-- Fights involving flags are winners-take-all and a warrior can carry as many
flags as he can win.
-- If a warrior holding a flag either A) goes inactive, B) loses to a stand-by
warrior or C) gets DA'd, he forfeits all flags he has and they are returned the their
original team's lowest ranked warrior.
-- If you hold your own flag on an inactive warrior you receive NO POINTS that
turn.
-- If a warrior graduates to AD holding flags starting on the next turn those
flags will be defended by the lowest ranked warrior on the team of the graduating
warrior.
-- Scoring as follows for each turn:
2 pts -- possession of your own team flag
1 pt -- possession any other flag
1 pt -- for each win
1 pt -- for each kill
1 pt -- for each award you receive in the newsletter
-- You may enter as many teams as you like (per RSI rules) but each team is its
own entry.
-- Tie-Breaker goes to the team that had the most points from flags.
-- If still tied the tie-breaker will be the team that had the most points from
kills. (It's the Delarq way.)
-- The contest lasts 10 turns and there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
(based on highest point totals)

DA warrior named after winning manager
2nd -- 2 know favorites potions*
3rd -- 1 know favorites potion*
* These are full favorite potions (weapon, rhythms and tactics) and can only be used
on warriors with at least 4 FE.

these prizes should be enough to draw you in. (You know who you are.)
